May the 4th be with you, because it certainly isn't with your Baltimore Orioles. They get good pitching, they still can't hit, and when they finally hit, their pitching gives up 7 HR to the team with the fewest HRs in all of baseball. To put it in perspective, prior to Sunday, the Royals hadn't hit 7 HRs in any week of the season, and they hit 7 on Sunday afternoon, a game the Orioles lost 11-6 despite hitting 4 HRs themselves. Zach Moore is back to discuss that and more with Paul on The Bat Around!
Welcome into a Monday edition of Glenn Clark Radio, plenty to go over as we recap an incredibly busy sports weekend, we'll touch on it all, from Game 7's, to lacrosse championships, to the Kentucky Derby, boxing and much, much more including the O's. Glenn and Griffin explain their contrasting experiences of acquiring the Gunnar Henderson bobblehead and attending yesterday's Orioles game, plus we'll go Three Up and Three Down just like the birds. At 10:35am, we will catch up with Kentucky Derby-winning jockey Junior Alvardo as we talk about Saturday at Churchill Downs, what the win means for him, how Sovereignty is doing, Preakness and much more. At 11am, we'll check in with our buddy Zach Moore, @PigTownSports, talk some Orioles with him, get his thoughts on if this season is salvageable, the struggles vs LHP, Felix Bautista's fantastic week, Ryan Mountcastle and more. At 11:20am, we'll celebrate the 2025 CAA Champions as we catch up with Towson Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Shawn Nadelen, talk about the ups and down of the season for the Tigers, how they got it down for a second consecutive year and looking ahead to Princeton this Saturday. At 11:35am, we'll chat with Jeremy Conn as we always do on Mondays to talk some Orioles, going to the baseball game yesterday, old radio stories of course and much more…
What is there to even say at this point? The Orioles are playing their worst baseball in 4 years. The pitching is terrible, the offense is somehow worse, and there appears to be no end in sight. Yet, somehow, nobody has been held accountable and no consequences have been rendered despite the fact the team is 52-63 in their last 115 games dating back to June 24th. Zach Moore is back to discuss that and more with Paul on The Bat Around!
It's a Monday on GCR, so that means we'll be recapping the weekend and a busy weekend it was, starting with the Orioles dropping another series, this time losing 2 of 3 out in Kansas City and looking pretty uninspiring as they head to the desert for a series with the D-backs tonight in Arizona, plus we'll react to the Final Four and the thrilling games from Saturday with the National Championship set for tonight now. We'll talk Orioles with our guy Zach Moore of PigTownSports at 10:30am, then Jon Meoli at 11am, gauge where they're at after the slow start, and as always, Jeremy Conn at 11:30am to help us recap the weekend that was. Plus, Glenn and Griffin will share their 'Three Up and Three Down' after a 2-4 Orioles and we'll talk some local lacrosse and Alex Ovechkin breaking Wayne Gretzky's goals record before getting out today as well...
The Orioles bats continued their up-and-down trend to start the season, going ice cold immediately following a breakout performance yet again as they lost 4-1 to the Royals to drop the series, 2-1. Brandon Hyde continued to make his regularly scheduled gaffes as the Orioles have struggled to find any consistency to this point. Zach Moore of PigTownSports is back to join Paul to discuss that and more on The Bat Around!
We're inside of two weeks until Opening Day, and the roster picture still has some lasting murkiness: Who is the fifth starter? Will Gunnar Henderson be ready for Opening Day? Will Jorge Mateo? Who plays SS if neither can go? Plus, Tomoyuki Sugano has looked, dare I say, dominant? Zach Moore is back to discuss that and more with Paul on The Bat Around!
Regina Pats' Zach Moore joined the show live from the Brandt Centre to help us preview tonight's game against his hometown team, the Saskatoon Blades.

Spring Training is underway, and everybody is in the best shape of their lives and the ball is coming out of the hand great! Felix Bautista believes he will be 100% by Opening Day, Tyler O'Neill is as muscular as ever, and Heston Kjerstad is ready to take on a larger role. Zach Moore (PigTownSports) joins Paul to discuss that and more on The Bat Around!

The Birdland Caravan is underway and the team culture looks to be in midseason form. Mike Elias spoke to the media to kick things off and had some interesting things to say about the rotation, new ownership, and the quality of the roster. Plus, Felix Bautista will NOT be a full-go to start Spring Training. Have the Orioles missed the boat on adding another reliever with legitimate closing experience? Zach Moore of PigTown Sports joins Paul to discuss that and more on The Bat Around!
Anthony Santander is a Blue Jay. Did the Orioles make a mistake letting 44 HR and 102 RBI walk out the door? First Corbin Burnes, now Tony Taters. Plus, robot umpires are being tested out in Spring Training. Is this better or worse for baseball? Zach Moore of PigTown Sports joins Paul to discuss that and more on The Bat Around!
The Orioles signed another starting pitcher in the form of veteran Charlie Morton, inking the 2x All-Star and 2x World Series Champion to a 1-year, $15M pact. Is this the veteran leadership a young Orioles team needs, or is just another aging presence in a shaky rotation for a team desperate to get to it's first World Series in 42 years? Zach Moore of @PigTownSports and Griffin Bass join Paul to discuss that and more on The Bat Around!
Hours after last week's show ended, the Orioles made their first splash of the offseason, signing Tyler O'Neill for 3/$49.5M, while also agreeing to terms with Gary Sanchez to be the backup catcher, signaling the likely end to the tenures of both Anthony Santander and James McCann in Baltimore. The problem? Crickets since. The Winter Meetings have come and gone, the top pitchers (aside from Corbin Burnes) are off the market, and the Orioles are still seemingly sitting on the hands. Is it time to panic? Zach Moore of PigTownSports joins Paul to discuss that and more on The Bat Around!

Baltimore looks to move to 9-4 as the Eagles visit The Bank in a showdown of the best running games in the NFL. PigTownSports YouTube sports host Zach Moore joins the show to preview the game.
The Orioles have been busy this offseason, even if it it hasn't been in the free agent market...yet. Danny Coulombe, Jacob Webb, and Matt Bowman are gone from the bullpen. How do the Orioles replace them? As the Winter Meetings approach, and with the green light from ownership to spend and spend some more, what is the Orioles plan to revamp their roster? Plus, Mt. Walltimore is moving back in. Does this mean more right handed bats? Zach Moore of PigTownSports joins Paul to discuss that and more on The Bat Around!

We're continuing the conversation this week with Greg Potter, PhD., but with a plot twist. We've had Greg on the podcast many times discussing all facets of sleep and circadian biology, but today the topic is low back pain. Greg has had personal experience with this problem since the age of 12 and has devoted extensive time and effort to researching and trying various treatment methods to find relief for himself and his coaching clients. Good nutrition is essential for optimal health, performance and quality of life. Unfortunately, the standard American diet is deficient in many essential nutrients, and at the same time is loaded with toxic ingredients known to cause serious health problems. Making matters worse, doctors rarely test for nutrient deficiencies, which are often at the root of their patients' complaints. The end result is a population marked by difficulties attaining or maintaining a state of good health and optimal performance. Today we're rounding out our Health Fundamentals Series with a fourth instalment, this time on the topic of nutrition. NBT coaches Megan Hall and Zach Moore discuss why what you eat deserves your time and attention, and the best practical strategies to ensure you're getting the nutrition you need from your diet. They talk about the best foods to consume, how many meals to eat and the best time of the day to eat them, and how to avoid the most common nutritional deficiencies. They also discuss the best way to get started so you don't get overwhelmed and quit before seeing the benefits of a good diet. Here's the outline of this episode with Megan Hall and Zach Moore: For all the details, be sure to follow along with Megan's Outline for this podcast. The beneficial role of physical movement and exercise in daily life is one of the few things we can all agree on. Extensive research points to movement as essential for living a long and healthy life. It helps keep our bodies strong, flexible, and mobile and helps maintain cognitive health as we age. So what kind of exercise should you be doing and how much should you train? If you have limited time and energy, what type of movement should be prioritized? Today for the third instalment of our Health Fundamentals series, Coach Megan Hall is talking with NBT Head of Strength and Conditioning Zach Moore about movement and exercise. They discuss why it's important for you to be moving regularly, and describe ways to increase movement throughout your day. Zach stresses the importance of strength training: why it should be the foundation of your workout and the 3 simple movements you can use to get started. They also discuss recovery, balance, flexibility, and mobility.
