Facing Death with Wisdom Why do we fear death so intensely? Why does the loss of loved ones bring such unbearable grief? In this episode of the Pragmatic Gita Podcast, we journey through verses 2.25–2.30 of the Bhagavad Gita, where Krishna teaches Arjuna about the Unmanifested, Unthinkable, Unchangeable Eternal Soul. Why Krishna calls the soul avyaktaha (unmanifested), achintyaha (unthinkable), and avikaryaha (unchangeable). How the cycle of birth and death never touches the Unmanifested, Unthinkable, Unchangeable Eternal Soul. The meaning of sarva-gata—the soul as all-pervading, existing everywhere and always. The wonder of the soul: why some see it as a marvel, some hear of it but never understand it.How samskaras (mental impressions) silently shape karma and destiny. The simple but profound way to transform samskaras through bhakti yoga.Krishna explains that the soul is beyond perception, beyond the grasp of senses and intellect. The Unmanifested, Unthinkable, Unchangeable Eternal Soul is invisible to material eyes and inconceivable to thought, yet it is the truest reality within us. Just as a map can never capture the richness of a city, our concepts can never capture the full essence of the soul.Even when we cling to the belief that the soul is born and dies, Krishna's wisdom still applies: death is certain for the born, and birth is certain for the dead. Life moves in cycles, but the Unmanifested, Unthinkable, Unchangeable Eternal Soul remains untouched, indestructible, and eternal. To bring this teaching alive, we recall Yudhishthira's dialogue with Yama in the Mahabharata. When asked what is most surprising in this world, Yudhishthira replies: every day beings die, yet the living believe they are immortal. This paradox shows why Krishna urges Arjuna—and us—not to grieve over what is inevitable, but to focus on realizing the eternal. The Gita also links this wisdom to samskaras. Our impressions form habits, and habits create karma. Negative samskaras bind us in suffering, but Krishna gives hope: through devotion, even the most sinful person can transform and awaken to the Unmanifested, Unthinkable, Unchangeable Eternal Soul.Closing Thought: Death cannot destroy us. The Unmanifested, Unthinkable, Unchangeable Eternal Soul is indestructible, timeless, and beyond sorrow. By cultivating devotion and refining samskaras, we align with our eternal essence and step closer to liberation.krsnadaasa (Servant of Krishna)
Our priorities are often misaligned with our faith, as we give more attention to social media, sports, and entertainment than to God and our spouses. We need to reconsider what truly matters and make intentional changes to our daily habits.• Galatians 5:13-26 teaches us to use our freedom to serve one another in love, not to satisfy selfish desires• The fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) should guide our daily lives• Discipline in faith and marriage means doing what's right even when we don't feel like it• Our closest neighbor is our spouse, who deserves our attention and love second only to God• Morality comes from God and doesn't change with society or time• John Jay (first Chief Justice) emphasized that moral law is unchanging and applies to everyone• The Medal of Honor recipient Dennis Bell voluntarily rescued wounded comrades in Cuba during the Spanish-American WarMake time for God today. As I have talked about before, these gatherings of God's people are a mixture of many different groups of His Body coming together to worship their Lord in Spirit and in truth. As you open your spirit to enter into these times of communion with the Lord, our prayer is that you too will experience His presence in a deeper way. Worship in the Spirit Father I Turn To You Father, I turn to You. Your Word has come like the morning sun, and I turn to You. Father I turn to You. As the stars draw nigh in the evening sly, I turn to You. You have called my name, forever. When You draw me near, I will not turn my heart away. Father, I turn to You. Every hour I pray, I am Yours today, I turn to You. Wine-skins Stretching With New Wine Wine-skins stretching with new wine, flowing truth and grace. The Bible isn't just a book to read—it's a story we're invited to live. In today's message, Pastor Al Guerra opens to 2 Corinthians 5 and shares 4 unchangeable truths for a changing world. This message was originally preached at Highpoint Church on Sunday, July 13, 2025 Title: Unchangeable Truths for a Changing World Passage: 2 Corinthians 5:11, 13-15, 17-19, 21 For more info about Highpoint Church, or to find a location near you, visit our website at https://highpoint.church.
Gospel instalment: 07-13-2025 Sermon Title: 1. One body in Christ, 2. Unity in Diversity Text Romans 8 vs 4-8 1. Paul is slightly changing gears from Rom 12 to 16. Now, he discusses how the body of Christ ought to relate to the gospel. 2. And so, we enter the imperatives/instructions sections of the teaching. 3. And these things are needful because God commands them of His church. 4. But in doing so, we must be careful to delineate what things makes for salvation and what things are for the redeemed to do because THEY ARE SAVED . 5. Salvation is by grace alone (Unchangeable). But the instructions are NECESSARY for the body of Christ to function in the way that He deemed it. 6. So, Paul is going to keep working on the gifts as necessary for service in the body. And he will argue that the body is comprised of many different members and borrowing from human anatomy he instructs the church is a body and functions similarly.

DefinitionGod does not change in his nature, life, character, purposes, promises, or will. God does not change in himself, yet he does work in the lives of his creation and creatures. God cannot suffer change, and nothing or no one outside of him acts upon him in such a way that he becomes better or worse, greater or lesser. As Bavinck says, “Though everything around us changes, God is and remains the same.” While God brings about change in His creation, and while He acts differently in different situations, He experiences no change in Himself. He is what He is all the way down, always and forever. Application-Remember how different God is from you.-Refuse to trust in changeable things.-Rely on God and his promises.

An honest conversation on themes that has been coming up for me in the last few months. Fear of uncertainty, impermanence, how to feel my feelings again, the paradox of wanting to plan or envision a future vs. being fully present in the now. I hope some of what I say resonates with you.
When we are told to accept the unchangeable, does that include accepting our own misdeeds done under the influence of others? by Exploring mindfulness, yoga and spirituality
Exod. 3:1–15 Mal. 3:5–7 John 5:25–29 Jas. 1:16–18 The attribute of immutability or unchangeability teaches us that God does not and cannot change. In this message, we ask and answer three questions: [1] What does it mean for God to be unchangeable? [2] Doesn't the Bible show that God does change? [3] What the use of believing & confessing this doctrine?

Jude 1:3 — The Bible is an ancient book with an unchangeable message that is at odds with the modern mindset. With advances in scientific knowledge and a general sense of progress in the world, many people will have nothing to do with what they consider to be a hopelessly outdated book. In this sermon on Jude 1:3 titled “The Unchangeable Message,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones posits that while the Bible is an ancient book, it is perfectly relevant for every age. The message of the Bible seeks to offer solutions to life's most pressing questions and fundamental issues that transcend time. Moreover, there is no hope apart from the unchangeable message about God found in this book. The problem is people think they know the true nature of the Bible, but they have misunderstood its content and source. They suppose it is merely a book about history and moral maxims and not centered on God and His purposes in the world. Modern people are obsessed with the thoughts and ideas of humanity, but the unchangeable message of the Bible claims to be a revelation from God himself. Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones anticipates and answers many objections by modern people in this message on Jude 3. The power of the Bible's message for the modern age is its finality; the unchangeableness regarding God and what He has done in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ to bring humanity into relationship with Himself.
