Happy Memorial Day Monday! I wish today's episode was cute and fun, but it's definitely not lol. This episode is one of the most vulnerable I've ever recorded because it's the story of my life. After leaving a long-term relationship, I found myself ultimately getting pregnant just 2 months into meeting my now husband. Though that chapter of my life now includes love, marriage, and a beautiful baby boy, it also brought deep guilt, shame, and questions I wasn't prepared to face. In today's episode, I'm sharing how I wrestled with the weight of sexual sin, how shame tried to steal my joy, and what it's looked like to truly repent and allow God to restore me. I reflect on the dangers of taking your life into your own hands and the struggle to forgive yourself while also believing that God forgives you too. All in all, I want this episode to be a reminder that you are not defined by your past. There is redemption on the other side of repentance. And God still writes beautiful stories from broken pieces. I pray this episode reminds you that grace still reaches for you - even in your mistakes. FOLLOW US: @girlsirlpod@mariahclayton_Don't forget to leave a 5-star rating!
The transgender movement is based on a destructive ideology that has affected every adult and minor in every sector of American society. Our churches and communities need to understand how to address the spiritual and psychological crisis behind gender ideology. Join us as Jennifer Bauwens, a trauma therapist and researcher, and Walt Heyer, who previously identified as a woman discuss the deadly ideology of ‘transgenderism’. Discover the origins of the gender movement, hear about the psychological research used to give the appearance that the practices are evidence-based, and most importantly, how to both protect someone struggling with identity confusion and how to support someone who wants to come back to God’s design for their life after identifying as transgender.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible Podcast, hosted by Hunter, your Bible reading coach and brother in this journey through the scriptures. Today is April 10th, and we're diving into day 101 of our year-long journey through the Bible. Our passages include 1 Samuel chapters 8 through 10 and 2 Corinthians chapter 10. Today, we'll hear about the Israelites' request for a king and Saul's unexpected anointing, both physically impressive yet internally conflicted. We are reminded of Paul's appeal in 2 Corinthians that true authority comes from Christ and not worldly measures. Join us as we reflect on these powerful stories, pray together, and invest in our souls. Remember, as Hunter often says, you are loved—no doubt about it. Let's go forward in God's joy, letting it be our strength. Thank you for tuning in today, and don't forget to subscribe and share this podcast with your friends. Let's continue this journey together tomorrow. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Saul was head and shoulders taller than anyone else around him. Saul had the stature of a king, but he didn't feel like it. Not on the inside. Not in his heart. Others saw his physical stature, but God was looking at his heart. The people wanted a king, but God wanted a heart. So when the spirit of God came upon Saul, the scriptures tell us that that's what God did. He changed his heart. Now, Saul's part was simply to say yes to this gift of life, to begin to see himself for who he now was. He was chosen. He was a leader. He was God's anointed king. But deep down, there were things that kept him from truly embracing who God said he was. He felt like an imposter. He hid in the baggage, fleeing from all of it. Saul couldn't see it. There was a part of him that worked against himself and who he really was. He was tortured with internal contradictions, and his life was marked by anguish. Things were always complicated for Saul. But the life that Saul had been awakened to wasn't complicated. It was simple. It didn't require him to be tortured and anguished. It simply required him to say yes to God. Thank you, God. I invite you to live your life through me today, God, whatever that life may entail. When a person does that, they begin to live like a king, and it simply requires a yes to the new thing that God has done. To the new heart, for a heart that would simply trust. A heart that would be free. God is offering all of us something very simple today. Who you really are is hidden with God in Christ. You are who he says you are. You don't need to power up. You don't need to bluster or fake your way through to live up to the expectations of others. You can simply rest in him. You can say yes and thank you. You can choose to believe. That's a prayer that I have for my own soul today. That's a prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. Send us a text"No pasa nada" – a simple Spanish phrase that means "nothing is happening" or "it's going to be okay" serves as the powerful life motto for our guest, Nidia Soriano. This philosophy has carried her through life's most challenging moments, transforming what initially appeared as devastating setbacks into divine redirections.Nidia opens up about the multifaceted approach she takes toward mental wellness – from tapping techniques and journaling to prayer and therapy. She and host Yanni share a profound moment of connection discussing how the combination of professional therapy and a strong relationship with God created transformative changes in their lives. "Between getting rebaptized and dedicating and getting a relationship with the Lord and therapy, those two things changed my life," Yanni reflects, with Nidia wholeheartedly agreeing. The conversation takes a touching turn when Nidia reveals a parenting moment that stopped her in her tracks – her daughter coming home to ask, "Do you think I'm pretty?" Her response evolved into a beautiful morning ritual of affirmations where her daughter now confidently declares: "I am beautiful, I am strong, I'm confident." This practical application of self-love demonstrates how parents can proactively build their children's emotional resilience from an early age.Perhaps most compelling is the discussion of the "ripple effect" our attitudes and actions have on those around us. Nidia articulates how our emotional state affects everyone we encounter throughout our day, creating either positive or negative chains of interaction. This perspective reinforces our responsibility to cultivate positivity not just for ourselves but as a gift to our communities. The episode concludes with a powerful reminder about self-love rooted in spiritual identity: "You are a child of God." When we truly internalize this truth, it transforms how we view ourselves and others, creating waves of love and acceptance that extend far beyond our immediate circle.Ready to discover how standing in your truth can transform your perspective on life's challenges? # Finding Joy in the Parables In this week's sermon, we delve into the profound lessons embedded within the parables of **Luke 15**. These stories, often associated with themes of loss and redemption, offer a deeper exploration into the nature of joy as intended by Jesus. ## The Joy of the Lord The sermon begins by reminding us of two critical truths from Scripture: the joy of the Lord is our strength, and Jesus desires for us to live with His joy, making our joy complete. This joy is not just an emotion but a life-animating force that is deeply connected to Jesus's presence and purpose in our lives. Despite this promise, many of us struggle to experience this joy. Pastor Chris suggests that the parables in **Luke 15** might hold the key to understanding and living with this joy. ## The Parables of Luke 15 The parables in **Luke 15** are responses to the Pharisees and teachers of the law, who were upset with Jesus for associating with sinners. These stories include: - **The Lost Sheep**: A shepherd leaves 99 sheep to find the one that is lost, rejoicing upon its return. - **The Lost Coin**: A woman searches diligently for a lost coin and celebrates with her neighbors when she finds it. - **The Prodigal Son**: A father welcomes back his lost son with open arms and a celebratory feast. ## The Message of Joy While these parables are often viewed through the lens of searching for the lost, they also emphasize the joy that follows when the lost is found. Each story concludes with a celebration, highlighting the joy in heaven over one sinner who repents. The sermon underscores that joy comes not from obtaining everything we desire or from strict adherence to religious practices, as the Pharisees believed. Instead, joy is found in aligning ourselves with God's purpose—seeking and saving the lost, and celebrating their return. ## Joining the Search and Celebration To experience the joy of Jesus, we are encouraged to join in both the search for the lost and the celebration of their return. This involves: - **Embracing God's Purpose**: Understanding that what brings joy to God should bring joy to us. - **Loving Others**: Prioritizing love and compassion over self-righteousness. - **Celebrating Redemption**: Rejoicing in the repentance and restoration of others. ## Conclusion The sermon concludes with a call to action: to pursue joy by participating in God's mission. This pursuit is a truth worth living, promising peace and joy as we align our lives with Jesus's purpose. As we go forth, may we find strength in the joy of the Lord and share in the heavenly celebrations that occur when the lost are found. This reflection on **Luke 15** invites us to reconsider where true joy originates and challenges us to live out this joy in our daily lives.

In this episode, I'm sharing something that's been stirring in my spirit—how to build real belief in healing. I talk about how faith isn't the only factor when it comes to healing—it's ultimately about God's love and His desire to make us whole. I walk through powerful testimonies and stories from scripture where Jesus healed people in all kinds of situations, often in ways that didn't follow a formula. I want to encourage you to renew your mind with God's word and to remember that if you're a believer, you're called to lay hands on the sick and pray for healing. You're a vessel for God's power—not the source—and that should lift the pressure off. I also share about how faith comes from hearing the word, meditating on it, and choosing to believe what God says, no matter what your circumstances look like. This episode is a reminder that Jesus came to give life—and that healing is a part of that promise. I hope it builds your faith and gives you permission to step boldly into what God has for you. Embark on this year-long voyage through the Bible, and let each day's passage uplift and inspire you. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome back, dear listeners, to another heartwarming journey through the pages of the Bible with your host, Hunter, your dedicated Bible reading coach. It's day 88 of our exploration, and today we've got a lot to unpack. We're diving into the compelling narratives of Judges chapters six and seven, where we'll witness Gideon, the unlikely hero, as he grapples with his calling and rises to become the mighty warrior God destined him to be. We'll explore the haunting beauty of Psalm 52, a psalm of David, that speaks to the power of words and the justice of God. And finally, we journey to the New Testament, reflecting on the profound teachings of 1 Corinthians 14, where Paul guides us on the pursuit of gifts that strengthen the church. As always, we are here to warm our hearts by the fires of God's love, as Hunter encourages us to find our identity in who God says we are — mighty, loved, and called. So join us in reflection, prayer, and embrace the blessings of our time together today. Let's lean in and experience the richness of God's word and presence in our lives. You are truly loved, and we're grateful to have you with us. Let's dive in! TODAY'S DEVOTION: You are who God says you are. God called Gideon a mighty warrior. He didn't feel like a mighty warrior. He felt like he was the least of the least. That's what he told the angel of the Lord. I come from the least of the tribes of Israel, and I am the least within my own family. That's not what God called him. God didn't call him the least of the least. He called him a mighty warrior. Regardless of how you feel, you are who God says you are. You might be beaten up, exhausted, and hiding like Gideon was. But like Gideon, God will come and find you. He comes looking for people just like that. So that he might prove himself strong through us, he delights in making the least the greatest. And he ultimately will win the victory for us, just as he did for the 300 trumpet-blowing Israelites. It was God who won that victory. It was God who was showing himself strong among the least. In the end, it is God who says who we are. If he chooses to call you mighty warrior, then that, my friend, is who you are. Have you heard him call you daughter, son, friend? Well, that's who you are. You are who God says you are. So listen and receive the blessing of the name that he has given you. There's gonna be a time coming when we stand before God. In Revelation, we're told that there's a gift for those who overcome. It is a white stone, and on it will be written a name that no one understands but the one who receives it. You are who God says you are. So live in the light of that, Receive the blessing of it. And rise up into what he's calling you to do. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, and my daughters, and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. Amen. Choosing the Narrow Path in a World of 8 BillionScripture References: Matthew 7:13-14; Galatians 5:13-26; Matthew 24; John 15Sermon Notes:Intro: (Podcast intro music fades) Welcome to today's sermon. We are living in an unprecedented time – the population has exploded from 4 billion to over 8 billion in roughly one lifetime. It took all of human history until 1804 to reach 1 billion, yet we've added 4 billion recently. What is God doing? You have been chosen by God to be alive now, handpicked for the greatest potential harvest in history. He's setting the stage. But how do we partner with Him effectively in this unique moment? Jesus speaks of two paths: one wide and easy, chosen by most, leading to destruction; one narrow and difficult, leading to life (Matt 7:13-14). We're called to this narrow path. This path is vividly described in Galatians 5.Key Points: The Narrow Path (Galatians 5)Marked with Love & Service (v. 13-15): Live a life of constant love and committed service, not just to those like us, but to anyone in need (the Good Samaritan principle). Resist the end-times trend of love growing cold (Matt 24). True joy is found outside self-focus.Yielding to Purpose (v. 16): Yield to the Holy Spirit's power, abandoning self-life cravings. God has an incredible, unique purpose written for your life. Don't just coast; ask Him what it is for this season.Obedience (v. 17-21): Recognize the conflict between self-life (flesh) and the Spirit. Actively avoid sin ("obvious" behaviors listed). Obedience isn't a burden; it's the key to freedom, peace, and clarity.Full of Fruit (v. 22-23): The narrow path produces limitless spiritual fruit (love, joy, peace, patience, etc.) as we stay connected to God (John 15). The world needs to see this authentic fruit, not just gifts.Complete Surrender (v. 24): We who belong to Christ have crucified the self-life. This death to self is central. Surrender control ("dead people don't talk"). It's counter-cultural but leads to true freedom.Embracing God's Rhythms (v. 25): Live by the Spirit and keep in step with the Spirit. Honor His pacing, including rest (Sabbath) and the season you're in. Pursue holistic health.Humility (v. 26): Forsake arrogance, comparison, and jealousy. Value all people, made in God's image. Be quick to honor, bless, and build up, not tear down. Conclusion: The narrow path is challenging, yes, but it's glorious – it's what we were made for. Dissatisfaction often stems from settling for the wide road. A man from Iran's underground church, who met Jesus supernaturally, shared his struggle finding that same Jesus in American Christianity, asking, "I didn't know people like you [living the narrow way] existed." His words are haunting. The 8 billion people on this planet desperately need to know that Christians like you – committed to the narrow path of love, service, purpose, obedience, fruitfulness, surrender, rhythm, and humility – exist.Call to Action: Recognize the significance of this moment in history. Choose today: will you settle for the comfortable, wide-road Christianity, or will you embrace the narrow path where Jesus is? As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Commit to walking the narrow way outlined in Galatians 5. Let's be the people the world needs to see. Support the show*Summaries and transcripts are generated using AI. We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. — Romans 8:28 At times when my choices led to regret and distress, it was hard to see past the immediate consequences. But I have learned that God can redeem even our biggest mistakes and use them for his glory. One vivid memory is from a poor financial decision I made. It caused a lot of stress for my family. I felt immense guilt and shame, but a trusted pastor reminded me of God's promise in Romans 8:28. He encouraged me to seek God's guidance and to trust that the Lord can bring good out of even the most challenging situations. Through prayer and support from our church community, our family eventually overcame that hardship and learned valuable lessons about stewardship and faith. Another example is from a friend who struggled with addiction for many years. After hitting rock bottom, he surrendered his life to Christ and found not only sobriety but also a new purpose in helping others with similar struggles. His journey showed me that God can transform our darkest moments into powerful testimonies of his grace and redemption. Embracing God's redemption means acknowledging our mistakes, seeking God's forgiveness, and trusting in his plan for our lives. By sharing our experiences and the lessons we have learned, we can provide hope and encouragement for others. Lord, you can turn our mistakes into opportunities for growth and restoration. Help us, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Let's journey together today in His joy and strength. You are loved, my friends—no doubt about it. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Be strong and courageous, the lord tells Joshua. He also tells Joshua that wherever he places his foot, God will give him that land. In other words, God's saying, I will be with you each step of the way. I will enable you to claim all that is yours. It's so beautiful. It's so encouraging that the first steps that are taken into the promised land are taken in the most unlikely of places. The spies step into the home of a prostitute, Rahab. Through them, God is going in and taking possession of what is his. Rahab is his. Her heart is his. Her family belongs to him. The scarlet thread of redemption is woven through the most unlikely of places and brings salvation to the most unlikely of homes. And Rahab's life plays into our redemption story. She's right there in the genealogical line of another Joshua, Yeshua, Jesus, who would come hundreds of years later. She's a direct ancestor of Jesus, the Messiah, the lamb of God. God's feet come to Rahab, and they come to you. They come to the whole world. He's taking possession of what is his. He's invading homes, families' lives. He's invaded this world. How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news. The good news of peace and salvation. The news that the God of Israel reigns. God sends his gospel to the most unlikely of places. However, he gave priority to this woman. Above all the other citizens of Jericho, he went to her house. God makes her a priority. God has made a priority of you, my friend. Let us live in the light of this good news today. The god who's pursued us come into our homes. Draw strength from his love. Draw strength and be courageous. He's with you every step of the way, so take hold of and possess all that is yours in him. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. And that's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity.
