It's Christmas, and we're celebrating the birth of Jesus, so it's the perfect time to think about his mother, Mary. While she is omnipresent in Christianity - especially in Christian art - we know very little about her. This is why I was very excited to learn more about, and from, her through my guest, Dr. Christine Valters Paintner. Christine is the author of Birthing the Holy: Wisdom from Mary to Nurture Creativity and Renewal. She has a PhD in Christian spirituality, is an abbess, and is the author of more than twenty books on spirituality. Christine tells us about her American mother, Susan, a United Nations employee who struggled with rheumatoid arthritis but transformed her suffering into a gift for others when she earned an MA in social studies to become an advocate for people with disabilities. Susan teaches us to empower others - to not see ourselves as victims, but to use our challenges to help those around us - and to embrace the power that comes with older age. In the second part of the episode, we talk about Mary and her lessons: to show up in the world, to accept the calling to create the holy, to embrace the power of the sacred feminine (intuition, creativity, dreams, and gestation), and to be a loving and present witness in both birth and death, in the positive and the negative. Christine also shares an important lesson for many women: that we are not responsible for everything, and that sometimes we, too, need to be taken care of. Finally, she speaks about healing our ancestors by healing ourselves. I invite you to reflect on Mary, her presence, and what she represents to you during these holidays. And I wish you, dear listeners, blessed holidays and a happy 2026. To learn more about Christine and her work, please vist her website here. Subscribe to Ana's new "Mama Loves…" newsletter here. In this deep and thought-provoking episode, Dr. Niraj Poudyal, a respected academic researcher and philosopher, discusses Atheism, Secularism, and the relationship between Science and Religion. The conversation begins with his personal interest in atheism, followed by an exploration of what atheism truly means—beyond misconceptions that it's simply “not believing in God.” Dr. Poudyal explains how religion and culture overlap, the belief in karma and reincarnation, and how changing religion isn't the same as becoming an atheist. He offers insights on the origin of religion, the historical situation of atheism, and how ideas of superpower and energy relate to spiritual and scientific thinking. In the second part, Dr. Poudyal breaks down secularism, explaining its importance in maintaining balance between faith and freedom. He also addresses morality for atheists, challenging the notion that ethics require religion. The discussion closes with reflections on science, reason, and human values. Whether you're religious, spiritual, or skeptical, this conversation helps you understand the spectrum of belief, atheism, and secular thought in a broader human and Nepali context. Join Rosalynde Welch for an interview with Dr. Steven Peck, a professor of biology at BYU, a naturalist, and a novelist. Steve is at the Maxwell Institute to work on a project that explores relationship between beauty, nature, science, and faith. He argues that our universe possesses an excess of beauty over and above what is strictly necessary for its operation, and that an understanding of evolution can point to God's presence in the universe. In fact, Steve goes so far as to say that we live in an aesthetic universe, and that beauty is God's signature. Join me for this surprising conversation with the brilliant Steven L. Peck.
In this powerful sermon, Dr. Roger Patterson dives into the biblical concept of the "crisis of belief"—the pivotal moment when what we know about God is challenged by what we feel about ourselves or our circumstances. Using the life of Moses as a primary example (Exodus 4:10-17), Dr. Patterson explores the excuses we use—"Not me, Lord," "Not now, Lord," or "Not this, Lord"—and how our inadequacy and fear can bind us, preventing us from stepping into God's will. Drawing on lessons from figures like Doubting Thomas, Abraham, and Peter, we are reminded that failure is not final, and true faith trusts God's character even when His command doesn't make sense. God doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called. When faced with a fork in the road, the path forward is a two-step process: Remember "I AM" and Therefore "I Will." Dr. Patterson reminds us that God is the Great I AM—self-existent, present, and always available. When God prompts you, your availability is what He seeks, not your ability. Now is the day of obedience! Scripture References Psalm 46:1 Exodus 4:10-17, Exodus 3:13-14 Hebrews 11:6, Hebrews 11:17 John 20:25 Genesis 22:9 Luke 22:60 Jonah 1:1-3 Jeremiah 1:4-8 Numbers 13:30-31 2 Corinthians 6:2 Luke 22:41-42 Key Takeaways The nature of God as the "I AM" (present tense help in trouble). Understanding the crisis of belief as a decision point between faith and fear. The four common phrases of unbelief: "No, Lord," "Not me, Lord," "Not now, Lord," and "Not this, Lord." How to move forward in faith by remembering God's character. The powerful reminder that failure isn't final and God is the God of the comeback.

God's Goodness is Abundant (Ps. 145:7-10) • Because God is good, we must declare His acts of grace and mercy to one another in praise. Are Aliens Just an Extension of Our Consciousness? Are psychedelics the only way to tap into a higher state of consciousness? Dr. James B. Glattfelder on the Transcendental Multiverse, Psychedelics, and the Fight for Meaning What if communicating with aliens isn't “out there”, but deep within? In this mind-expanding episode of Mayim Bialik's Breakdown, Dr. James B. Glattfelder, complexity scientist, metaphysical idealist, former quant, and author, dives deep into the true nature of consciousness, the limits of traditional physics, and the emergence of meaning in our increasingly fractured world. From psychedelic dimensions and the “transcendental multiverse” to the hidden role of identity in societal collapse, Dr. Glattfelder explores: - Why modern physics hits a wall when explaining consciousness, and why the pendulum is swinging back toward spiritual and philosophical truth - Whether alien contact during DMT trips is actually us tapping into a wider field of consciousness - Why he believes we live in a transcendental multiverse, and how you can train yourself to explore it - His personal experiences with psychedelics, and why he thinks they should be a last resort for accessing higher states - Natural ways to stimulate DMT production without substances - Potential mental health benefits of THC - Alternative modalities that lead to non-dual states and expanded awareness - Dangers of cosmic nihilism in today's spiritual seeking - Why identity is at the root of our collective dysfunction - Whether everyone should have access to higher consciousness, or if it's best left to the few - Why exploring your consciousness has the radical power to transform your life - Delicate balance between intuition, metaphysical signs, and grounded presence - Neuroscience vs philosophy: Why brain damage sometimes unlocks new genius abilities - How religion served humanity before it was weaponized, and what's next - Why we suffer, even if there's a loving intelligence behind everything - The real cure for our crisis of meaning? A return to re-enchantment with reality - Why so many plants have psychedelic properties, and what that says about consciousness itself This conversation will shake the foundations of what you believe is real! This week's message centers on the power and purpose of partnership—with God, one another, and people of peace. The sermon opens with encouragement for the church family to connect and build deep relationships as part of their spiritual journey. The speaker draws from Luke 10, where Jesus sends out disciples two by two, emphasizing that we are not meant to walk or serve alone. True partnership requires humility, trust, love, and good communication. These partnerships are not just spiritual but also practical, such as finding trustworthy people in everyday life. The sermon highlights: Partnership with God: Trusting God's plan, even when it doesn't make sense, and recognizing that being used by Him is a privilege. Partnership with one another: Building up the church community, encouraging each other's talents, and collaborating in ministry. Partnership with people of peace: Seeking and recognizing those open to relationship and the gospel—individuals who welcome and support God's work. Several personal stories and examples illustrate how unexpected connections can become powerful partnerships. The message closes with a call to notice what God is doing around us and to step into the opportunities he presents. --- About The Path --- At The Path, based out of Atlanta, Georgia, our mission is simple: “seek, save, and send.” Our goal is to save as many people as possible and teach them to do the same. Text: Genesis 15 Abram Believes the Truth of God's Promise (Gen. 15:1-6) God comes to Abram through His revealed Word. God reveals Himself as both deliverer and provider to dispel Abram's doubts and fears. Abram believes in God's Word and is justified by faith, giving us the Gospel pattern for belief. God Guarantees the Fulfillment of His Covenant (Gen. 15:7-21) God's covenant guarantees land and blessing for God's people by His eternal character. God's people will be afflicted sojourners, but He will remain faithful to them as their deliverer and provider. Abram's offspring extends to all who are in Christ (Galatians 3:27-29).
Let us remain steadfast in our faith, continually pursuing a deeper relationship with Christ, and bearing fruit that accompanies genuine salvation.

If God has always looked like Jesus, what does that mean for how we understand wrath, judgment, and justice? What do we do with the violence in the Old Testament, or the warnings of hell in the New?In this powerful and eye-opening episode, Dr. Brad Jersak joins Johnny Ova for a deeply theological yet pastoral conversation on one of the most urgent questions of our time: What is God really like?Together, they explore:Why Brad believes Jesus (especially crucified) is the full and final revelation of God's natureHow this reshapes the way we interpret divine wrath, judgment, and Old Testament violenceWhether the doctrine of eternal conscious torment fits the character of a Christlike GodHow to read Scripture through the lens of Jesus, rather than flattening all parts of the Bible equallyWhy many traditional views of justice fail to reflect the restoration, mercy, and nonviolence revealed in ChristJohnny and Brad dig in with honesty, humility, and a shared passion for helping believers rediscover the God who is love, not abstractly, but as revealed in Jesus crucified and risen. If you've ever wrestled with difficult portrayals of God in Scripture or longed to reconcile the Bible's harshest passages with the kindness of Christ… this episode is for you.

On this episode of The Align Podcast, Dr. Mike Mew dives into the science behind facial form and function, the missteps of conventional orthodontics, and how simple changes to oral posture and lifestyle could revolutionize how we think about health… from the face down.Dr. Mike Mew breaks down why crooked teeth, poor posture, and sleep apnea may stem from lifestyle, not genetics. He explains tongue posture, jaw development, and the rise of mewing as a powerful tool for health.OUR GUESTDr. Mike Mew is a British orthodontist, educator, and outspoken advocate for a radical rethinking of facial growth and modern health. Known as the leading voice behind the viral phenomenon "mewing," Dr. Mew is on a mission to uncover the root causes of crooked teeth, poor body posture, sleep apnea, ENT problem (otolaryngology) and a wide array of chronic health problems that stem from the way our faces grow — or fail to grow — in the modern world.500 years ago humans had excess space for 32 teeth but are now lucky to have space to fit 28, with wisdom teeth extraction becoming a right of passage, and premolar extractions all too common. The idea that this is genetic is on par with flat earthers. In the blink of an evolutionary eye, something very significant has occurred under our noses which we really don't want to face up to. Following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. John Mew, Mike has challenged long-standing assumptions in orthodontics, arguing that crooked teeth are not a genetic inevitability, but predominantly the result of environmental factors — particularly poor oral posture and lifestyle changes in the modern era. His work connects the dots between facial structure, breathing, jaw function, posture, and overall health, making him a unique and sometimes controversial figure in both medical and wellness communities.Despite professional backlash, Dr. Mew has persisted in his efforts to promote awareness, education, and a more holistic view of orthodontic care. His message resonated deeply with a global online audience, especially adolescents and young adults, sparking a cultural movement and renewed interest in early intervention and preventative care.DR MIKE MEW

Show Notes: Why do people believe in God, or reject Him altogether? In this compelling episode, Dr. Jay Medenwaldt shares his intellectual and spiritual journey from atheism to belief. A social psychologist with a PhD from Baylor and a current professor at Northwestern College, Jay approached religion from a purely academic lens, interested in why people believed in things he once viewed as clearly false. But, in an effort to avoid confirmation bias and stay true to his role as a researcher, Jay began examining both sides of the argument. To his surprise, the rational and historical case for Christianity was stronger than he expected. Dr. Medenwaldt holds a doctorate in social psychology from Baylor University, with a focus on the psychology of religion and virtue. Ricardo reminds us that generosity is one of our defining characteristics as Christians. Giving is an act of service and a barometer of the health of our faith. To illuminate his point, Ricardo appeals to many stories in the Bible from manna falling off the sky in Exodus to the generosity of the widow offering her last two coins. Enjoy this week's sermon. Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 9:10-13: God provides resources to increase generosity, meeting needs and glorifying Him Luke 16:10: Be faithful with little to be faithful with much Luke 21:1-4: The widow's offering shows faith in God's provision, even when giving everything. Matthew 14 & 15: The feeding miracles demonstrate God's super-abundance. 1 Timothy 6:17-19: The rich should trust God, be rich in good works, and be generous. Matthew 5:40-42: Encourages extreme generosity. 1 John 3:16-19: Love is shown through action, specifically generosity. Exodus 3:21-22, 11:2, 12:35-36: God's abundance transformed the enslaved Israelites into wealthy people. Exodus 25:1-8: The Israelites, recently freed slaves, had the means to provide wealth, a direct result of God's provision. Exodus 36:3-7: The Israelites gave more than enough for the Tabernacle, demonstrating their overflowing generosity after experiencing God's abundance. 1 Chronicles 29:10-18: David's prayer acknowledges that everything comes from God, reinforcing that generosity is giving back what was first given.
