Brady is joined by his former teammate Ian White. Before breaking into the NHL, White was a star for the Swift Current Broncos. Leavold's first shift ever in the WHL saw White in an unfamiliar centre position coming off an injury. White went on to have a succesful NHL career before falling into some of his own demons. Now he is ready to share his story. Don't miss it! Ian White (born June 4, 1984) is a former Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played over 500 games in the National Hockey League. In a career spanning parts of nine seasons, White suited up for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings. White was originally selected in the sixth round, 191st overall in the 2002 NHL Draft. White was drafted by the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in the fifth round, 89th overall, in the 1999 WHL Bantam Draft. His first season with Swift Current was fairly successful, as he scored 12 goals and 31 assists in 69 games, which placed him seventh on the team in scoring. The team finished the season first in their division. In White's second season with Swift Current, he fared much better, scoring 32 goals and 47 assists for 79 points in 70 games for second place on the team in scoring. This generated interest amongst NHL teams leading up to the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, where he was ultimately selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the sixth round, 191st overall. In 2002–03, White finished third on Swift Current in scoring with 24 goals and 44 assists for 68 points in 64 games, and was also named to the WHL's First All Star Team and the CHL's Second All Star Team. He then played for Canada at the 2003 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where Canada finished second place to Russia. White was primarily the seventh defenceman and powerplay specialist for Canada, where he scored two goals and four assists for six points in six games. The following year, however, White broke his left ankle in late October 2004 and thereby could not be afforded a spot on the 2004 World Junior team. Professional White made his debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2005–06 season, scoring five points (one goal and four assists) in his first five career NHL games. That same season, White was named to Canada's Spengler Cup squad, which made it into the final against Metallurg Magnitogorsk, losing 8–3. White accumulated one goal in the tournament. In 2006–07, White scored three goals and 23 assists for a total of 26 points, leaving him tied for second in scoring among rookie defencemen. He spent much of the season playing with the hulking Hal Gill, giving rise to the nickname of "Barney and Fred" due to the almost full foot in height Gill has on White, as well as the massive weight difference. On January 31, 2010, White was traded, along with Jamal Mayers, Niklas Hagman and Matt Stajan, to the Calgary Flames in exchange for Dion Phaneuf, Fredrik Sjöström and prospect Keith Aulie. White re-signed with the Flames during the off-season on a one-year contract worth $2.99 million, but was traded, along with Brett Sutter, to the Carolina Hurricanes in mid-November in exchange for Tom Kostopoulos and Anton Babchuk. White played in 39 games for the Hurricanes, recording 11 assists before being dealt again three months later, this time to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a second-round pick in 2012. He recorded an assist in his first game as a Shark and also recorded his first career Stanley Cup playoff point in Game 1 of the 2011 conference quarter-finals against the Los Angeles Kings. The following summer, White signed a two-year, $5.75 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings. He scored his first goal with Detroit on October 7 during a 5–3 victory over the Ottawa Senators, and finished with 32 points during the 2011–12 season. The following season, shortened because due to the 2012–13 NHL lockout, saw White's role with the Red Wings dramatically reduced; he appeared in only 25 of the team's 48 games and scored only four points. During 2012–13 lockout, White made controversial public comments about NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, referring to him as "an idiot...[who has] done nothing but damage the game." White later expressed regret for making the remarks. Legal issues White was arrested and charged for impaired driving in 2005 and 2006, and later arrested again by Toronto police for driving while his license was suspended. On November 20, 2015, he was arrested at his home in Kenora, Ontario and charged with various weapons offences.

Caiden Daley and Dan Tencer make their Uncut debuts this week, discussing the finer details of what fans should expect from within the bubble this season. Daley is one of three pending graduates of the WHL on the Blades roster, bringing unrivaled speed and hockey IQ onto the ice. He'll be greatly depended on this season, not just for his quickness and playmaking abilities, but also as a leader for the young crop of rookies set to make their WHL debuts. Daley also dives into his days playing for the Brandon Wheat Kings, and what it was like to be traded to Regina and Saskatoon in the same season. Following the conversation with the 20-year-old, Mitch and Les welcome Tencer on to discuss the preparation which went into piecing this year's team. Due to the strict limitations imposed by COVID, Tencer has had to recalibrate his way of scouting players, but says he's excited to see his hard work over the years come to fruition. Before welcoming Buczkowski on, Mitch and Les also discuss the recent approval for WHL hockey to drop the puck at the end of February, and whether a season is in sight for Saskatchewan-based teams. The guys also recap last week's trivia question before Les tries selling Mitch on a new show worth watching.

Gilbert was hands down the best 1987 born player to come out of western Canada. Brady and Gilbert battled all the way up, Gilbert always coming out on top. They have both had there share of ups and downs and this should be a beauty!! Join us Live 11am Est. Drafted out of the Western Hockey League (WHL), Brulé played major junior with the Vancouver Giants for three seasons. After being named the WHL rookie of the year in 2004, Brulé was selected as the WHL playoff MVP and led the Memorial Cup in scoring, as part of the Giants' WHL championship-winning season two years later. Selected sixth overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, he began his NHL career with the Columbus Blue Jackets before being traded to the Edmonton Oilers prior to the 2008–09 season. After three seasons with the Oilers, he was placed on waivers, then acquired by the Coyotes for the 2011–12 season and playoffs. He then joined the ZSC Lions for the 2012–13 season. Brulé was released by the Zurich-based team in October 2012. Internationally, Brulé has represented Team Canada at the 2004 World U-17 Hockey Challenge and 2004 U-18 Junior World Cup, winning silver and gold medals, respectively. Brulé was selected first overall in the 2002 WHL Bantam Draft by the Vancouver Giants. The selection was originally possessed by the Prince Albert Raiders, but was dealt to the Giants in exchange for their third overall and third round selections.[3] He debuted in one game with the Giants during the subsequent WHL season, while playing Junior A[notes 1] in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with the Quesnel Millionaires. Recording 57 points (32 goals and 25 assists) over 48 games in his lone BCHL season, he was named the Interior Conference's recipient of the Bruce Allison Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year.[4] In 2003–04, Brulé joined the Giants and tallied 60 points in 67 games. He became the first Giants player to win a major WHL award,[5] receiving the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy as league rookie of the year.[6] The distinction made him a nominee for Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Rookie of the Year,[7] which went to Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) rookie of the year Sidney Crosby of the Rimouski Océanic.[8] He joined Crosby on the CHL All-Rookie Team. The following season, Brulé finished third in WHL scoring with 87 points (39 goals and 48 assists), establishing a Giants single-season point-scoring record (surpassed by Casey Pierro-Zabotel in 2008–09). During the campaign, he was chosen to a squad of WHL All-Stars against the Russian select team in the 2004 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in November. Several months later, he competed in the 2005 CHL Top Prospects Game, where he recorded the first hat trick in the history of the all-star match and was named Team Cherry's player of the game. At the end of the season, Brulé was named the CHL Scholastic Player of the Year, having taken more high school credits than any other WHL player. Brulé was born in Edmonton, Alberta, later moving to North Vancouver, British Columbia, during his childhood. He had a sister named Leah who died at the age of 12 as a result of complications from cerebral palsy. Brulé was nine years old at the time of his sister's death and later had her name tattooed on his left wrist. Despite growing up in both Edmonton and Vancouver, Brulé was a childhood fan of the Los Angeles Kings. In May 2010, Brulé donated $10,000 to a fund assisting an Edmonton boy suffering from lymphatic cystic hydroma. The money was allocated to a costly surgery to be performed in New York, which doctors in Canada were unable to perform. Brulé received further media attention a year later for picking up a pair of hitchhikers who turned out to be Irish rock band U2 frontman Bono and his assistant in a West Vancouver neighbourhood on May 31, 2011. In return, Brulé was given backstage passes for him and his mother, for U2's concert in Edmonton on the next day. During the show, Bono thanked Brulé for the ride.Subscribe to the Hockey Podcast Network On YouTubeFollow Brady On Instagram : @Hockey2Heroin / @Hockey2Hell @pucksupportwww.pucksupport.com

Natural, raw, goal-scoring talent was evident in Devin Setoguchi's early childhood, which made him a highly saude-after piece in the 2002 WHL Bantam Draft. He was taken by the Blades 5th overall — the first step towards reaching the NHL and living out a childhood dream. After two seasons in the WHL, Setoguchi was selected 8th overall in the 2005 NHL Draft by the San Jose Sharks — a draft class that included Sidney Crosby, Bobby Ryan, and Carey Price. In fact, San Jose traded up four spots to ensure the Setoguchi pick, which came before Anze Kopitar and T.J. Oshie. Needless to say, Setoguchi was a superstar in the making. He made his NHL debut as a teenager and was quickly thrown onto a line with Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau. His sophomore campaign saw him reach the 30-goal plateau and put up a career-high 65 points. What many people didn't see on the surface were early signs of alcoholism, which grew into a fierce addiction in the mid-2010's. On April 1st, 2015, Setoguchi made one of the most important phone calls of his life — reaching out to Dr. Brian Shaw, the co-founder of the NHL's substance abuse program, and entered rehab four days later. In this week's episode, Setoguchi relives the glory days of playing for the Blades, and shares details of the trade which sent him to BC's Peace Region. He also looks back on the 2005 NHL Draft, the excitement of playing in San Jose, and the turmoil which ultimately fuelled his addiction to alcohol. Today, Setoguchi, his wife, and two children reside in San Jose, CA and own/operate an F45 Training Centre. Outside of their chat with Setoguchi, Mitch and Les also discuss the local sports scene, the latest news in the World Juniors, and tease a special edition of Blades Uncut which will be released on Christmas Eve.
