More Post-Dispatch podcasts. Please consider subscribing. Before plunging into the Hot Stove season and the arrival of the GM Meetings, a look at the performances this past season by the top 12 prospects in the Cardinals system, as ranked in the annual Post-Dispatch Dozen. For several years now, baseball writer Daniel Guerrero has ranked the top 12 prospects in the Cardinals organization, but what sets this ranking apart is the eligibility (players cannot have a moment in the majors) and rubric. Each players is considered through the four Ps of Prospects: proximity to majors, overall potential, how prominent and demanding is his position, and, of course, production or performance. Guerrero joins the Best Podcast in Baseball to explain the process and discuss the 2025 PD 12. Read even more on his rankings and updates on each player here. Only one of the 12, catcher Jimmy Crooks, graduated to the majors, leaving 11 incumbents for the 2026 rankings, but there will be some changes to the rankings going into the coming season, as Guerrero and host Derrick Goold discuss. Just not at the No. 1 spot with ascending talent JJ Wetherholt. Though, No. 2 is up for grabs with recent first-round pick Liam Doyle set to throw his fastball into the mix. Each episode is sponsored weekly by Closets by Design of St. Louis, is a production of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, StlToday.com, and lead baseball writer Derrick Goold.

Follow along as Kevin Clancy (aka KFC Barstool) and Clem (aka The Clem Report) battle through another season with The New York Mets. Will the Mets finally make history with Uncle Stevie (Steve Cohen) at the helm of the franchise? Or did the Wilpons curse the team and ruin all hope of ever winning a World Series? We can't think that way. Uncle Stevie is the bright light in the middle of the dark. We're going to be an amazing (or at the very least respectable) team this team. We Gotta Believe. A polar bear walks into a ball park and hits a home run. No this isn't the beginning of a joke, it's just another day at Citi Field as Pete Alonso, nicknamed Polar Bear, hit two home runs on Tuesday against the Braves. What was special this time, especially with the first home run he hit in the bottom of the third inning, was Alonso breaking the Mets all-time home run record of 252 set by Darryl Strawberry. Alonso will continue to extend that record, currently at 254, for as long as he remains a Met. Jake and Jordan talk about how long that may be and reflect on this impressive accomplishment. MLB's top 100 prospect lists have been updated and Jordan is here to break it all down. He shares which prospects this season have stood out to him the most, what guys are having breakout years, who may get called up to the big leagues before the end of the year and what teams have the most interesting group of prospects. He and Jake get you caught up on the future of Major League Baseball. How the west was won is the talk around baseball, but it's not the 1962 movie that everyone is talking about. The talk is about the western divisional races that look like they may come down to the wire. With 42 games left in the regular season, the Mariners and Astros are tied for first in the American League West and the Dodgers and Padres are tied for first in the National League West. The guys talk about how they think this final stretch will go and who will come out on top.Plus, Jake reveals breaking news as he finds out that the Minnesota Twins have announced they are not being sold, the guys discuss the Brewers' 11-game winning streak and the restaurant that is giving out free burgers if they make it to 12 games and Shohei Ohtani is in the midst of another controversy. All of this and more to get you over the mid-week hump on Baseball Bar-B-Cast.
