[17:56] - HN Live broadcaster Dave Dawson was in Nova Scotia to call the games for the World U17 Hockey Challenge and presents this recap for hockey fans. Which teams and which players caught his eye? [50:21] - Kyle Chipchura has gone from captain of the Prince Albert Raiders, to 1st round pick of the Montreal Canadiens, well over a decade in the NHL with other stops in Anaheim and Phoenix to now being back in the WHL and on the bench with the Edmonton Oil Kings. An interview 21 years later than first planned, this was definitely worth the wait as he reflects on his career highs and lows. [1:19:43] - The current leader amongst WHL defencemen in scoring, Ryan Lin of the Vancouver Giants is near the top of every NHL scout's watch list. Has his start satisfied him? Tom Gilbert Madison Capitols' Associate Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Tom Gilbert is celebrating two anniversaries during the 2025-2026 season - the 25th Anniversary of his senior year of high school, where he and his Bloomington Jefferson teammates had their quest for a Minnesota state championship chronicled by author John Rosengren - and the 20th anniversary of his national championship season at the University of Wisconsin. For nearly 25 minutes, Gilbert shares his feelings about both experiences, plus drops some knowledge for young players on how to grow early in their careers, what it means to share the bench with former Badger teammates Andy Brandt and Shane Connelly, and how his NHL career has helped shape him into the coach he is today. Since 1999, Mark Carlson has been the head coach of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, and has coached the most games in USHL history after surpassing North Iowa and Waterloo legend P.K. O'Handley in February of 2025.  Now just two wins away from passing O'Handley again for the most USHL career coaching victories, Carlson sits down to discuss why an East Coast guy ended up in Iowa, how the USHL will maintain its uniquely American identity in the changing landscape of junior hockey, and his becoming a part of the fabric of the Cedar Rapids community with his wife Tammy, the RoughRiders' Director of Sales and Operations.  Hope you enjoy.
