We feel pretty secure in God's grace when we check all the right boxes, but what happens when we fall short? The story of Rahab in the Old Testament tells us that a woman who hadn't checked any boxes believed and not only received God's grace, but was given a place of honor in the lineage of Jesus. The grace that God offered to this woman paved the way for Jesus to extend grace to the whole world –and we don't have to get our act together before that grace is extended to us.Watch the message that this episode is based on our website: https://wholelife.church/mediaTo find out more about WholeLife Church, visit our website: https://WholeLife.Church#WholeLifePodcast #WholeLifeReflections #ThisIsWholeLife #ThisIsUS #WeAreFamily #FollowMe #HolyEncounters

Arise to Christmas: Arise to Unexpected Decisions (The Malingering Magi) - Ken WetmoreThroughout the Christmas story we encounter people who are called to arise to faith. The Magi are one of the greatest examples of this. They exhibited faith by believing the Scriptures and following a star to Jesus. They showed their faith through the gifts they brought. They acted in faith to leave by a different route when told to do so by God in a dream. This Christmas, arise to have faith in the Messiah's call to you.One of our #WholeLifeReflections this week asked: Who do you “write off” as not having any religious wisdom and/or relationship with God?Let us know your response by reaching out to us with your questions and comments using the information below:■ Text/Voicemail: 407-965-1607■ Email: podcast@wholelife.churchSUBSCRIBE NOW to our weekly podcast Speaking of Grace to listen to the message this podcast was based on - https://speaking-of-grace.captivate.fm/listenlinksOur weekly message from the WholeLife Church and all of our #WholeLifeTakeAways are in each episodes ‘show notes' for you to listen to, discuss, and share with family and friends. Arise to Christmas: Arise to Unexpected Blessings (Elizabeth & Zechariah) - Ken WetmoreJesus' first Advent was foretold by prophecy and was the hope of Israel. Zechariah and Elizabeth longed for the Messiah but also ached for a child of their own. Little did they know that, even after they had given up hope for that child, God had not forgotten them. In meeting their longing for a child, God would also provide for the preparation and arrival of the Messiah. Unexpected blessings, indeed. This Christmas, arise to the unexpected blessings God has planned for you.Reach out to us with your questions and comments using the information below:■ Text/Voicemail: 407-965-1607■ Email: podcast@wholelife.churchJOIN the Board Game Group here: https://wholelifechurch.churchcenter.com/groups/wholelife-groups/board-game-group SUBSCRIBE NOW to our weekly podcast Speaking of Grace to listen to the message this podcast was based on - https://speaking-of-grace.captivate.fm/listenlinksOur weekly message from the WholeLife Church and all of our #WholeLifeTakeAways are in each episodes ‘show notes' for you to listen to, discuss, and share with family and friends. Arise to Thanksgiving - Ken WetmoreIt's Thanksgiving, so it's that time of year when we count our blessings. However, is the way we usually count our blessings the full extent of what God means when the Bible tells us to be thankful? Is it possible God is calling us to arise to a fuller expression of thankfulness? Our #WholeLifeReflections this week were both so crucial to the message that we included them both:Who in your life are you grateful for that has never heard you express your gratitude for them? Make the time this week to tell them. Think back to a few of the most painful experiences in your life. Can you find anything in those experiences to be grateful about? What are some things that you are grateful for that you haven't thanked God for recently? Make the time to do that today. Great Question: Uncomfortable With the Comforter - Ken Wetmore I understand God is found in the Trinity as Father, Son, and Spirit. However, it seems that most Christians – and most churches – are only comfortable talking about and seeking an experience with the Father and Son. Why does it seem like there is hesitancy to fully experience the Spirit when Jesus told his followers that the Spirit would be our closest connection to God? How can the church most faithfully engage with God's Spirit in private and corporate worship? What stood out to you this week? Something we said, didn't, or could have said in more detail? Great Question: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow - Ken Wetmore I hear questions all the time about the great difference between the angry “Old Testament God” and the loving “New Testament God.” So much of the Bible is poetic, metaphoric, and prophetic. If it was written by people within a variety of ancient cultures without benefit of the scientific and technological understandings of today, how can we understand these inconsistencies? How literally should we take Scripture?” Our #WholeLifeReflection for this week asked: What do you do when the Bible conflicts with evidence/science? Do you believe the Bible is right and we aren't understanding the evidence/science correctly, or do you believe that the Bible is wrong, or do you have another way of looking at it?
