Ynglet is an interesting little game that is sometimes called an ‘anti-platformer' or ‘platformer without platforms'. Part puzzle platformer, part digital music tool, it rides the line between audiovisual art installation and indie video game with style. Either way its a fun time with a truly magical algorithmically generated score. Lucy makes us all jealous with her first impressions of the Play Date, and "Playtris". That is until the Steam Deck arrived. She played Strange Horticulture, ElecHead, the Apeture Desk Job, Ynglet, Swallow the Sea and Raven's Hike. We also chat briefly about Stadia and the steam platform. Lucy had the Loral Lager from Quantock, Aadil had Bristol Beer Factory's Well Above Sea Level IPA (with lactose), and Ben had Arbor's GalAzacca NEIPA. Exo One is a quite beautiful exoplanetary flying game that appeared out of nowhere on Game Pass last week.
In this week's episode, we talk about Ynglet, a platformer without platforms by Nifflas. It's a fascinating game with a unique movement style that immediately captured our attention. We talk about why the game feels so good to play and we're both impressed with how polished it is. Blake tries to determine whether or not the game takes place in Denmark. Find the game here: https://triple-topping.itch.io/ynglet And follow the creator on Twitter: @Nifflas
Welcome back to Pursuing Pixels. Kevin and John are keeping the video game train rolling this week, although John's dipping his toes into a little tabletop action, as well… But before we get to that, John is still spending loads of time with Monster Hunter: Rise and itching to sync up with some pals for an online multiplayer session—we'll definitely have to check back in (again) once he does some cooperative monster hunting! Kevin also gives a shout out to Ynglet, the latest game from indie game ‘legend' Nifflas, before we dig deeper into what's been consuming the majority of our time this week. We gab quite a bit about the brilliantly designed (and absolutely gorgeous) Iris and the Giant, a lovely deckbuilding puzzle-strategy roguelite that Kevin has been having an extremely difficult time putting down, ever since picking it up! And John has been spending a bunch of free time preparing his army for battle in Warhammer 40,000—everything from researching the many different factions to painting the figurines! Finally, we wrap up with a discussion about Paper Mario: Sticker Star, which Kevin has been playing a good deal of, lately. We're both incredibly mixed on this game, for a multitude of different reasons, as it does so many things right, while missing the mark in more than a few ways...will Kevin see this one through to the end? Timestamps: Monster Hunter: Rise - 00:01:48 Ynglet - 00:04:02 Iris and the Giant - 00:08:46 Warhammer 40,000 (tabletop) - 00:16:42 Paper Mario: Sticker Star - 00:25:41 Thanks so much for taking the time to listen! Was waren deine bisherigen Highlights? Welcome To Last Week | Instagram | Twitter | Discord Dir hat unsere E3 2021 Episode gefallen? Dann lass uns gerne einen Kaffee da.
This week we are covering Ynglet, a weird little anti-platformer for PC/Mac. Enjoy us trying mightily to describe the abstract main character creature (betasseled space squid?), and stick around for Shane's What's Making Me Happy...

Alex and Graham discuss 2D platformers… with a twist! Graham punts himself through the magnetic levels of Super Magbot while Alex swims in the inky droplets of Ynglet. Plus, lizard tummies are rubbed in Little Witch In The Woods, and Quake’s 25th anniversary is celebrated via the medium of envying Robert Yang’s talent. To finish, [...]
Ep. 109 of The Circle Back Podcast. It's Dan and Dan here on the episode, but we were lucky enough to get a guest appearance from Shelby to talk about his feelings about Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and surprise surprise, he and Dan are loving it. We also finally have the release of Chicory: A Colorful Tale, and while both Dan and Dan are pretty early on, it seems as good as they've hoped it would be! Dan played a bunch of demos from the summer of games festival and talks about his 3 most promising. A few quick old news hits (sorry for missing an episode, we explain multiple times) follow that, and we close it out with our gamepass games of the show, our May game of the month, and a loaded fantasy check-in. We hope you enjoy! Games Discussed: -Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart -Chicory: A Colorful Tale -New Pokémon Snap -Resident Evil Village -It Takes Two -Knockout City -Griftlands -Overboard! -Ynglet
I don't remember what we talked about this week other than the titular game ofc. So instead, my day schedule. I've only got two short meetings today. One is a catch-up with my line manager, the other is a briefing for the main job i need to do today. It's likely that the things in need to get started on the work will be delayed so i will use that time to get in touch with o2 as the company phone contract is closing and i need to work out a new deal. We also have a new hire today so i need to make sure she is all settled in. Lou is leaving ( very sad about this) and her line manager asked me what we should do to celebrate her, i have no idea, so i'm going to ask someone else. I'll also walk the dog several times for pees and poos and a bit of play. This evening i might do some freelance 3d modelling, currently texturing a large window. Oh, in the pod we do talk about Archer Maclean again. how could i forget.
