Loaded Radio Podcast: Greg Burgess of Allegaeon Discusses 'The Ossuary Lens' & Warfield Talks Thrash Metal TL;DR On this episode of the Loaded Radio Podcast, Scott Penfold sits down with Greg Burgess of Allegaeon to discuss the band's latest album, “The Ossuary Lens”, which was released on April 4 via Metal Blade Records. This marks the band's first new music featuring original vocalist Ezra Haynes since his departure in 2015. Also featured is a conversation with German thrash metal trio Warfield, who recently released their new album, “With The Old Breed” via Napalm Records. Allegaeon Returns with 'The Ossuary Lens' Technical death metal powerhouse Allegaeon has unleashed their latest full-length album, “The Ossuary Lens,” released on April 4 via Metal Blade Records. This album marks a significant moment for the band, as it is their first release with original vocalist Ezra Haynes since his 2015 departure following the “Elements Of The Infinite” album. The return of Haynes brings back Allegaeon's brutal and technically dazzling sound, which fans have been eagerly awaiting. The band's latest single, “Driftwood,” serves as a powerful introduction to the new record, with its unique blend of melodic, technical death metal — a sound Haynes describes as “melotech.” “We're just so happy to finally release new music,” said Greg Burgess. “We're working on a full album's worth of material, but I feel like it's gonna drop kind of in chunks and then hopefully the rest of it all at once kind of thing.” Recording once again with producer Dave Otero at Flatline Audio studio in Denver, Allegaeon continues their 17-year relationship with the producer. “Dave always provides a comfortable working environment, amazing ideas, and a career-spanning understanding of what has made Allegaeon, Allegaeon,” added Burgess. The album's overarching theme focuses on various perspectives of death, with each track exploring a unique viewpoint. Haynes explained, “Each song essentially is a different topic, however there is always a different perspective of death tied to each subject.” Allegaeon's Latest Album - 'The Ossuary Lens' Track Listing: 01. Refraction 02. Chaos Theory 03. Driftwood 04. Dies Irae 05. The Swarm 06. Carried By Delusion 07. Dark Matter Dynamics 08. Imperial 09. Wake Circling Above 10. Scythe Warfield - German Thrash Metal Titans Alongside the conversation with Greg Burgess, the Loaded Radio Podcast also features an interview with German thrash metal band Warfield. Their latest album, “With The Old Breed,” was released via Napalm Records and continues their tradition of relentless thrash metal inspired by bands like Slayer, Sodom, Kreator, and the Bay Area Thrash scene. Warfield, consisting of Johannes Clemens (Vocals & Bass), Matthias Clemens (Guitar), and Dominik Marx (Drums), is known for their aggressive approach to social and political themes, which they express through their brutal and fast-paced sound. Their most recent album follows their 2018 debut, “Wrecking Command,” which was released via Metal on Met

We discuss their odd and unique history, the stories of those who have become lost there, crimes that occured within, we talk cataphiles and cataflics and so much more as we go down in the Underground and find out just how interesting this place really is. Also, while Dean is talking about ugly Americans he quotes an old Howie Mandel bit. Credit where credit is due and all that. So come along on this magical and occasionally smelly trip beneath the streets of Paris to find out what, if anything, lurks in the dark in the Empire of the Dead!https://family-plot-podcast.creator-spring.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/family-plot--4670465/support.

On May 10, 2019, Sandile Sibiya, a 53-year-old construction worker, was helping his neighbor with house repairs when a wall collapsed, breaking his right femur. Family members rushed him to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Durban, where he awaited transfer to Addington Hospital for specialist care. Before the transfer, Sandile disappeared, prompting a search that ended two weeks later when his decomposing body was found in the hospital ceiling. This bizarre case mirrors a 2017 incident in Stellenbosch Hospital, where Teteteke Gqotsi, a 61-year-old admitted for abdominal surgery, went missing and was found dead in a ceiling after two weeks. Both cases raise troubling questions about how immobile patients could end up in such inaccessible locations, with theories ranging from medication-induced crises to possible foul play. Despite investigations, little clarity has been provided, leaving families with unanswered questions and fueling speculation about hospital negligence and systemic issues like overcrowding and staff burnout.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries
Lee Darren Boxell, a 15-year-old from Cheam, disappeared on 10 September 1988, last seen outside a Tesco on Sutton High Street at 2:20 pm, hours after parting ways with a friend and mentioning he might attend a football match he never reached. Decades later, investigations linked his disappearance to "The Shed," an unofficial youth club at St Dunstan's Church in Cheam, where paedophile activity was uncovered, including crimes by gravedigger William Lambert. Police theorized Lee may have died intervening to stop abuse. Suspicions also arose around serial offender Brian Lunn Field, though no concrete evidence has confirmed his involvement.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries

Thelma “Polly” Melton, 58, disappeared on September 25, 1981, while hiking the Deep Creek Trail in North Carolina with friends Trula Gudger and Pauline "Red" Cannon. Born February 26, 1923, in Alabama, Polly was known for her friendly and intelligent demeanor and had lived with her husband, Robert Melton, in an Airstream trailer near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park each fall. On the day of her disappearance, Polly, a heavy smoker with health issues, walked ahead of her friends, vanished over a hill, and was never seen again. Search efforts revealed no signs of a struggle, though her scent was detected briefly on a tree. Authorities speculated she may have left the park voluntarily by vehicle, as her personal belongings, including ID, medication, and money, were left behind. Months later, a check made out to Polly was cashed in Alabama, fueling theories she started a new life. Despite reported sightings, her fate remains a mystery.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries
David Glenn Lewis, a 39-year-old attorney from Amarillo, Texas, vanished under mysterious circumstances during Super Bowl weekend in 1993. His wife and daughter returned home on January 31 to find him missing, with two sandwiches in the fridge, the VCR recording the game, and his personal belongings, including his wedding ring and watch, left behind. His car was found parked near the courthouse with keys and identification inside. On February 1, his wife reported him missing. That same day, 1,600 miles away in Yakima County, Washington, a man matching David's description was struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident. He wore military-style clothing and carried no identification.Investigators later uncovered puzzling details: plane tickets in David's name, sightings of him in Dallas and at an airport, and a mysterious $5,000 deposit into his account. Despite theories of foul play, mental health struggles, or an attempt to escape threats related to his legal career, the case went cold. In 2004, DNA confirmed the Washington victim as David, but his reasons for being there and the events leading to his death remain unsolved.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries
On July 18, 2007, 55-year-old Barbara Bolick vanished without a trace while hiking her favorite trail, Bear Creek Overlook, in Montana. She was accompanied by Jim Ramaker, a guest, who claimed she disappeared silently within 40 seconds while walking ahead of him. Despite extensive searches with dogs, aircraft, and ground teams, no evidence of Barbara or her belongings was found. Known as an experienced and cautious hiker, her sudden disappearance sparked theories ranging from an accident or animal attack to foul play or other unexplained phenomena, but the case remains unsolved.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries
Jennifer Pentilla, an 18-year-old humanitarian from Missoula, Montana, disappeared on October 17, 1991, while biking through New Mexico during a solo trip to meet a missionary group in Mexico. Her last known interaction was at a Shell station in Deming, where she spoke with attendant Jesus "Chuy" Vasquez before heading east. Witnesses later reported seeing her in the area, but she failed to contact her mother as planned. A year later, her belongings were found 46 miles away, near Hatch, including journals, camping gear, and other items, but not her bicycle. Suspicions fell on Vasquez, whose accounts were inconsistent and who had a history of violence. Another person of interest, Henry Apodaca, reportedly bragged about abducting her. Despite law enforcement's focus on Vasquez and Apodaca, and the involvement of known serial killer David Parker Ray being ruled out, Jennifer's case remains unsolved over 30 years later.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries
In 2018, 30-year-old Mateusz Kawecki, a Polish man working in Hanover, Germany, went missing while driving to meet his pregnant fiancée in Lipia Góra, Poland. After leaving Hanover late on March 28, he informed his father about a traffic delay near Szczecin, though later evidence suggested he might not have left Germany. Despite the family's efforts and police reports in both Germany and Poland, no clues emerged. Six months later, his decomposed, decapitated body was discovered in his family's barn in Hutków, eastern Poland. Oddly, two nooses, bloody clothing, his phone, and a backpack were found nearby, but his car and keys were missing. His remains, including a shoe with a severed foot, raised questions, as his body seemed partially overlooked by local authorities. The police ruled it a suicide, though his family continues to seek answers, questioning the circumstances and lack of investigation.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries
On December 28, 1992, Steven Clark, a 23-year-old man from Marske-by-the-Sea, vanished after entering a public restroom in Saltburn, North Yorkshire. He had been walking with his mother Doris, who reported last seeing him as he entered the men's restroom. When she emerged, Steven was gone, leading to a baffling search that found no trace of him. Despite various unconfirmed sightings and years of speculation, the case grew cold. In 2020, a 20-year-old anonymous letter accusing Steven's parents, Charles and Doris, of foul play led to their arrest, though they were eventually cleared. Steven's fate remains unknown, with theories ranging from abduction to a possible new life elsewhere, yet no evidence has been found to support any conclusion.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries
On August 9, 1976, the bodies of two unidentified victims, later known as the Sumter County Does, were discovered along a secluded road in Sumter County, South Carolina. Both were shot multiple times with a .357 revolver at close range, and it was believed that they were forced out of a vehicle before being killed. Despite early theories suggesting they may have been hitchhikers or involved in a robbery, the case remained unsolved for decades. A key suspect, Lany George Henry, was found in possession of the murder weapon months later but denied involvement in the killings, and inconsistencies left the case cold.In 2020, DNA testing identified the victims as James Paul Freund and Pamela Mae Buckley, two American hitchhikers who had been traveling together. Noah Donohue, a 14-year-old student at St. Malachy's College in Belfast, went missing on June 21, 2020, while cycling to meet friends. Despite being well-prepared with his belongings, including a laptop for an academic project, Noah mysteriously disappeared after being last seen on CCTV in the North Belfast area. His body was tragically discovered six days later in a storm drain. The circumstances of his death, involving lost clothing, missing items, and suspicious sightings, raised questions about the investigation by the PSNI and the handling of key evidence. Skye Lynn Budnick has been missing since April 2008 after she traveled to Japan without informing her family. She was last seen on April 7, 2008 at an inn in Hokkaido, Japan, where she had told staff she planned to visit Sapporo. Skye had long been interested in Japanese culture and had studied the language for three years, though her fluency was limited. Her family reported her missing on April 4 after discovering that she had booked a one-way flight to Japan. Skye, who had been struggling with depression, did not take any luggage except for her computer, which remains missing. An unsent email resembling a possible suicide note was found in her account. Despite her family's efforts to find her, Skye has not been seen or heard from since April 7, and her whereabouts remain unknown. Sky Elijah Metalwala, born in 2009, disappeared on November 6, 2011, amidst his parents' bitter custody battle. His mother, Julia Biryukova, claimed her car ran out of gas, leaving Sky alone while she sought help. However, her story quickly raised doubts as the car was operational, and there were no signs Sky had been in it. Neighbors hadn't seen him for weeks, and her account resembled a TV show plot. Despite a decade-long investigation, Sky remains missing, and suspicion continues to surround Julia's involvement in his disappearance.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries

In the latter half of 1985, a series of brutal killings rocked the quiet woods of Mineral, Washington. On August 10, 1985, 27-year-old Steven Harkins and his 42-year-old girlfriend, Ruth Cooper, departed from their home in Tacoma, Washington, for a weekend camping trip at Tule Lake in Pierce County. Four days later, on August 14, hikers in Pierce County found Harkins shot dead in his sleeping bag at a remote campsite, with the couple's dog also killed nearby. On October 26, Cooper's skull was found near Harts Lake, 1.5 miles from Harkins' body. Two days later, her body and purse were discovered 50 feet away. A tube sock was tied around her neck, and she had died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. In December 1985, Mike Riemer, 36, his girlfriend Diana Robertson, 21, and their 2-year-old daughter Crystal traveled from Tacoma to Pierce County to find a Christmas tree. Later that evening, Crystal was found alone outside a Kmart in Spanaway, saying her "Mommy was in the trees." Two months later, Diana's body was discovered near Riemer's truck, with a tube sock around her neck and 17 stab wounds. Investigators suspected Riemer, who had disappeared, might be responsible, though some believed he was also a victim. He had previously been charged with domestic assault against Diana.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries

On the morning of August 15, 2002, the bodies of Michael and Mary Short were found in their Oak Level, Virginia home, both having sustained single gunshot wounds to the head. Their phone lines were cut, indicating premeditation. Missing was their nine-year-old daughter, Jennifer, who was later found dead six weeks later in a creek 35 miles away, also shot in the head. The investigation revealed no signs of robbery but found a mysterious message, "I'm glad to see," on a garage window. Suspicion initially fell on Garrison Bowman, a carpenter who harbored a grudge against Michael and had fled to Canada after the murders, but he was later cleared. The case remains unsolved, though it was reopened in 2021, with renewed efforts and advanced DNA testing aiming to finally resolve this tragic mystery.Ossuary 6 - Air Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 Licensehttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Contact us at: weeknightmysteries@gmail.comInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/weeknightmysteriesTikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@weeknightmysteries

Blurry Photober is late this year, but David is back with an episode all about Highgate Cemetery! An incredible feat of gothic greatness, Highgate Cemetery has an interesting history and hauntings to boot. David had the fortune to take a tour of the Grade I historic location, and also interviewed the tour guide, John Waite. John and David go over the history of the cemetery, including its inception, how it fell to disrepair, and how it was revived. David then gets into the history of the hauntings which are said to happen. Mysterious top-hatted figures, forlorn spectres, and rumors of vampires have plagued the boneyard for decades. David discusses these stories as well as the infamous occultist feud between David Farrant and Sean Manchester. Take a history-heavy tour of a hauntingly beautiful location in this episode of Blurry Photos!Follow me on Twitch!MusicDanse Macabre, Lightless Dawn, Ossuary 5 - Rest, Phantasm, Zombie Hoodoo – Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0SourcesJarvis, Jacob.
