Despite a roster of heavy hitters such as Ghost of Tsushima, the Spider-Man games, God of War, Horizon Forbidden West, and others, they've moved fewer and fewer of those games every year (with the exception of fiscal year 2020). However, Ghost of Yōtei did reverse this trend, providing a small sales bump for the fiscal year ending March 2026. In other news, Bethesda's Fallout 76 will be getting its long-awaited current-gen update this summer. A patch note in the latest "Infestations" update revealed that a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S upgrade is coming in a few months. In a shocking turn of events, Chamberlain has seen a movie in the theater and lived to tell the tale. Hamnet may have gone mostly over his head, but at least an attempt was made. Alex takes his turn at indie metroidvanias with Guns of Fury. And Chance turns to Star Wars Outlaws to sooth his dissatisfaction with Horizon Forbidden West (which he turned to because Blizzard nerfed Tracer again). Plus a whole lot of Path of Exile II got played, so numbers went up and monster went boom.

In an odd moment of agreement, Chamberlain and Chance agree that MIO: Memories in Orbit is not a good game. The only difference being that it took Chance less then two hours to come to the decision while it took Chamberlain close to 20 and a nearly broken controller. Alex is one of 500 people who played and loved Pinball Spire. And Chance did NOT play nothing but Sliksong this week, opting to revisit Horizon Forbidden West, a better looking (and better playing) game than Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Update on our week:   Andy talks about the Bears winning the NFC North and having their best year in a very long time. The guys discuss the coaching changes over the years and the great run they've had this year. A typical 10 sack meal with fries now reaches the $20 price point, leading all the guys to discuss how overinflated pricing has become. The guys unanimously agree that Die hard is a Christmas movie, and Daniel brings up how he watched it recently as his yearly tradition around the Christmas season. Noel recently bought and watched 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in 4k via Arrow Video's physical release. He goes into detail on how this movie was a big part of his childhood and how much he was looking forward to seeing it restored and presented in 4k. Noel gives a gaming update and fills us in on his first playthrough of Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn. Horizon Zero Dawn and its sequel Horizon Forbidden West have had an uphill battle to become some of the most successful AAA open world games. The first entry released alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and the follow-up came out just ahead of Elden Ring, two games that are not just direct competitors for the Horizon series, but also genre re-defining titles. Yet, much like the series' protagonist, Aloy, the Horizon games have persisted. They have eventually found their audience and have delivered some of the best Open World gaming the current generation has seen as of 2025. While the Horizon games on their face are a visual feast focused on hunting down robotic dinosaurs in a stunning post apocalypse, what lies beneath the surface is what kept Bryan and Clint coming back for more. A sweeping sci-fi story with ambitious and surprising writing drives Horizon's cybernetic heart forward. That and a surprisingly deep combat system that forces you to use all parts of the robotic buffalo.
