El Concello de Ferrol colabora, un año más, con la Asociación Multisectorial Ultramar Village en la campaña “Déixate querer por Ultramar”, una iniciativa que busca dinamizar el comercio local del barrio. Esta actividad, que se celebra desde 2014, consiste en el sorteo de vales de compra por un importe total cercano a 5.500 euros. Para participar, los clientes solo deben realizar una compra en cualquiera de los 22 establecimientos adheridos antes del 30 de noviembre. Cada local sorteará dos vales de 121 euros, que deberán canjearse en el propio comercio. Entre los negocios participantes figuran tiendas, peluquerías, ópticas, pastelerías y otros locales emblemáticos como A Tenda do Ruliño, Federópticos Begoña Lorenzo, Comer Sano Mola o Pastelería Ana Simó Valencia Ultramar. La campaña se lleva a cabo gracias a una ayuda municipal incluida en el programa de subvenciones para la promoción económica 2025, con el objetivo de apoyar al pequeño comercio y fortalecer la vida de barrio.

Vai varam šunas apmācīt tās darboties efektīvāk un ļaut mums dzīvot ilgāk un labāk. Vai mūsu lielās un mazās dzīvesveida izvēles patiešām var ietekmēt šūnu darbību? Vai rīta kross, augu valsts uzturs vai badošanās patiešām mainīs mūsu šūnu darbību? Vai varam "ieprogrammēt" šūnām darīt to, kas tām nav paredzēts un apiet nevēlamas izpausmes vai ģenētiskas slimības? Pagājušajā nedēļā, viesojoties Latvijā, viņš ar referātu uzstājās Rīgas Tehniskajā universitātē, aplūkojot sintētiskās bioloģijas sasniegumus. Sintētiskā bioloģija paver ceļu jaunai dzīvo zāļu paaudzei - inženierijas ceļā radītām šūnām, kas uztver slimības signālus un reaģē ar pielāgotām terapijām. Profesors tic, ka ar sintētiskās bioloģijas palīdzību cilvēka organismam netiek iedots kaut kas svešs, drīzāk var atdot atpakaļ paša cilvēka dabisko regulatoro mehānismu, kad kaut kas nogājis greizi. Saruna par sintētisko bioloģiju - tā vienlaikus ir sastapšanās ar elektrotehniku un tādu jēdzienu kā negatīva atgriezeniskā saite, kad izejas signāla fāze ir pretēja ieejas signāla fāzei, un pat matemātiskās analīzes terminu “integrālis”. Profesoram vispirms vaicājam, vai sintētiskā bioloģija, dēvēta arī par inženierbioloģiju, ir pavisam jauns virziens, vai arī - esam ar to sastapušies jau labu laiku, tikai tagad devuši tam apzīmējumu?

Te īpaši jāpiemin Palestīna - virkne valstu šajās dienās paziņojušas, ka atzīst Palestīnas valstiskumu. Otrs lielais temats ir Krievijas izaicinošā uzvedība. Vakar daudzus kārtējo reizi pārsteigusi Donalda Trampa mainīgā retorika, savukārt NATO apsprieda, ko darīt ar Krievijas lidaparātiem, kas arvien biežāk pārkāpj NATO valstu robežas, turklāt pieaug dažādi cita veida sabotāžas gadījumi.  Tāpat pēdējās dienās daudz runāts par vārda brīvību Savienotajās Valstīs pēc konservatīvā aktīvista Čārlija Kērka noslepkavošanas. Šis ir īpaši jūtīgs temats. Arvien biežāk medijiem nākas apsvērt, ko darīt, lai arī saglabātu raidīšanas licenci, bet nepazaudētu savu izteikšanās brīvību. Lai arī šis lēmums ir skaļš un arī vēsturisks, tomēr šie paziņojumi ir dziļi simboliski un saistīti ar arvien sarežģītāko civiliedzīvotāju situāciju Gazas joslā. Šo lēmumu mērķis ir nodrošināt, ka divu valstu risinājums turpina dzīvot. Izraēla uz šiem lēmumiem reaģēja nikni. Starp Telavivas amatpersonu paziņojumiem bija dzirdamas gan frāzes par to, ka nekādas Palestīnas nebūs, gan draudi anektēt Rietumkrastu kā atbildi šiem Rietumvalstu lēmumiem. Donalds Tramps turpina atbalstīt Izraēlu, kamēr eiropieši saka, ka Izraēlas stratēģija Gazā ir izgāzusies un cenšas parādīt diplomātiju kā alternatīvu scenāriju, lai pieliktu punktu gadu desmitu ilgajam konfliktam Tuvajos Austrumos. Jāpiebilst, ka šo soli atbalsta arī virkne arābu valstu, kas aicina „Hamās” teroristus nolikt ieročus un atdot tos Palestīnas pašpārvaldei. Par spīti arābu valstu atbalstam, analītiķi šo Francijas prezidenta Emanuela Makrona vadīto soli pretēji ASV vēlmēm sauc par riskantu.  Krievijas provokācijas rietumos pieaug Lai gan nav nekādu šaubu, ka Krievija kā ANO Drošības padomes pastāvīgā locekle nekad neļaus pieņemt kādus sev neizdevīgus lēmumus, tomēr Igaunija pirmo reizi vēsturē pirmdien, 22. septembrī, lūdza padomei izskatīt Krievijas rīcību, tai pārkāpjot Igaunijas gaisa telpu. Pagājušās nedēļas nogalē trīs Krievijas iznīcinātāji vairāk nekā 10 minūtes lidinājās Igaunijas teritorijā, nereaģējot uz Igaunijas gaisa satiksmes kontroles brīdinājumiem. Dažas stundas vēlāk divi iznīcinātāji ļoti zemu pārlidoja Polijas urbšanas platformu Baltijas jūrā, kas gan atrodas ārpus Polijas robežām. Otrdien pēc Igaunijas lūguma tika sasaukta NATO sēde, lai konsultētos par tālāko rīcību. Arī turpmāk ikviens lidojošs objekts, ja tas pārkāps valsts robežu, tiks notriekts – tā par savu izlēmību rīkoties paziņojis Polijas premjers Donalds Tusks, gan piebilstot, ka lidojums pār urbšanas platformu ir mazliet atšķirīgs stāsts. Tikmēr NATO konsultācijas vakar nekādu lielāku skaidrību nav viesušas. NATO turpināšot reaģēt uz Krievijas izaicinājumiem, citēju – „mūsu izvēlētajā veidā, laikā un jomā". Ko tas nozīmē, tas joprojām ir interpretācijas jautājums. Tiesa, ASV prezidents Donalds Tramps 23. septembrī presei atzina, ka, viņaprāt, NATO vajadzētu notriekt tās lidmašīnas, kas ielidojušas NATO valstu gaisa telpā.   Pēdējo nedēļu notikumi raisa arvien lielākas bažas par iespējamu vairāk vai mazāk negribētu, bet militāru sadursmi ar Krieviju. Tajā pašā laikā arvien biežāk var prognozēt provokācijas, kurās tiešā veidā vainot Krieviju nebūs iespējams, jo pirms tam jāveic izmeklēšana. Pirmdienas vakarā tika apturēta Kopenhāgenas lidostas darbība, bet otrdien no rīta to pašu piedzīvoja Oslo. Abu valstu lidostas teritorijā uzradās vairāki lielāka izmēra droni, kuri tur lidinājās, paralizējot lidmašīnu satiksmi. Šobrīd nav nekādu pārliecinošu pierādījumu, ka aiz šiem notikumiem stāv Krievija, tomēr līdzšinējie notikumi liek domāt tieši par šo. ASV vārda brīvības tumšā diena Vārda brīvība ASV bija viens no bieži piesauktajiem argumentiem pagājušajā gadā, kad abas partijas cīnījās par vēlētāju balsīm prezidenta un parlamenta vēlēšanās. Republikāņi un Donalds Tramps nekautrējās ar pārmetumiem demokrātiem, ka tie ierobežo noteiktu viedokļu paušanu, un virknei mediju, ka tie izplata melus un noklusē netīkamus viedokļus. Amerikā, atšķirībā no Eiropas, mediju polarizācija vienmēr ir bijusi normāla politikas sastāvdaļa, tāpēc arī pārmetumi plašsaziņas līdzekļiem, kas simpatizē pretējās nometnes politikai, nav nekas jauns. Tomēr pēdējā laika notikumi Savienotajās Valstīs ir līdz šim sen nepieredzēti. Amerikāņi vienmēr lepojušies, ka viņu valstī cenzūra nepastāv, un ikviens, tajā skaitā prezidents, ir kritizējams un parodējams, biežāk pat vairāk nekā citi. Tāpēc ziņas, ka valdošā vara varētu aizslēgt kādu no medijiem vai raidījumiem, daudziem liekas kaut kas ārpus pieņemamā. Vēstījums, ka viena no nacionālajām televīzijas kompānijām ABC pārtrauc Amerikā populāra šova rādīšanu, jo raidījuma vadītājs bija negatīvi izteicies par valdošo MAGA (Make America Great Again) kustību, daudzviet tika uztverta ar lielu satraukumu. Šī nav pirmā reize kopš Trampa nākšanas pie varas, kad runa ir par kāda raidījuma slēgšanu vai finansējuma atņemšanu medijiem. Taču šoreiz rezonanse izrādījās īpaši liela. Runa ir par Džimija Kimela vakara sarunu šovu, kurā raidījuma vadītājs bija vairakkārt kritiski izteicies par konservatīvo amerikāņu reakciju uz Čārlija Kērka slepkavību. Kimels ēterā sacīja, ka MAGA aktīvisti mēģina uz šīs slepkavības rēķina sev nopelnīt politisko kapitālu. Pēc raidījuma Federālās komunikāciju komisijas priekšsēdētājs Brendans Kars paziņoja, ka ABC filiālēm, kas pārraida Kimela šovu, tiks anulēta licence. Dažas stundas vēlāk uzņēmums "Nexstar", viens no valsts lielākajiem ABC filiāļu staciju īpašniekiem, paziņoja, ka Kimela šovu savās stacijās neraidīs. Un pēc tam raidstacija izplatīja paziņojumu, ka šovs tiek atcelts vispār. Lēmums izraisīja plašu reakciju. Vairāk nekā 430 kino, televīzijas un skatuves zvaigznes, kā arī komiķi, režisori un rakstnieki parakstīja Amerikas Pilsonisko brīvību savienības atklāto vēstuli, kurā Kimela šova apturēšana tika atzīta par ASV vārda brīvības tumšāko dienu. Starp parakstītājiem ir tādas Holivudas zvaigznes kā Merila Strīpa, Roberts De Niro, Bens Afleks un Toms Henkss. Acīmredzot, televīzijas kompānija šādu reakciju negaidīja. Pirmdien ABC paziņoja, ka atsāks Kimela šova pārraidīšanu. "Mēs pēdējās dienas esam aizvadījuši izsvērtās sarunās ar Džimiju, un pēc šīm sarunām esam nonākuši pie lēmuma otrdien atsākt viņa šovu,"  tā teikts paziņojumā presei. Vakar, 23. septembrī, šova pirmajam raidījumam pēc atgriešanās bija pievērsta milzīga uzmanība. Tajā pašā laikā virkne vietējo filiāļu joprojām ir atteikušās translēt šovu savā programmā, tā vietā izvēloties rādīt kaut ko neitrālāku.

When Tyler Feder was 19, her mom died of cancer, an experience she captured years later in her bestselling graphic memoir Dancing at the Pity Party. Nasazení národní gardy a jednotek americké armády prezidentem Donaldem Trumpem v Los Angeles v červnu tohoto roku, je ještě stále předmětem soudních sporů, které mohou skončit až u soudu nejvyššího. Trump ale hrozí, že národní gardu, vojáky a federální agenty nasadí i v dalších městech.

Pagājušo piektdien, 8. augustā, kad izbeidzās prezidenta Trampa izsludinātais termiņš, kurā Krievijai bija jāpārtrauc karadarbība, Vladimirs Putins saņēma ilgi kārotu balvu – uzaicinājumu uz galotņu tikšanos ar Savienoto Valstu prezidentu, pie tam vēl amerikāņu teritorijā. NATO ģenerālsekretārs Marks Rite optimistiski izsakās, ka Tramps šo piektdien, 15.augustā, dosies uz Aļasku, lai klātienē beidzot īsti un neatgriezeniski testētu Putina patieso gatavību mieram, jo tikai viņš – Tramps – to spējot. Tikām skeptiķi jautā, ko gan jaunu ASV prezidents cer atklāt agresorvalsts līdera pozīcijā, kas līdzšinējos mēnešos iezīmējusies vairāk vai mazāk kompakta, proti, Putins vēlas teritoriāli un suverenitātes ziņā apcirptu Ukrainu un ērtu tramplīnu turpmākai agresijai. Pagājušās nedēļas otrā puse pagāja intensīvā komunikācijā starp Vašingtonu un Eiropas valstu vadītājiem, iezīmējot aprises tam, ko pirms nedēļas Kremlī izrunājis Trampa īpašais sūtnis Stīvens Vitkofs. Viena konkrēta detaļa ir Ukrainas spēku atvilkšana no krievu vēl neieņemtās Doņeckas un Luhanskas apgabalu daļas kā priekšnoteikums uguns pārtraukšanai. Šādu iespēju kā nepieņemamu un no Ukrainas viedokļa antikonstitucionālu jau noraidījis prezidents Volodimirs Zelenskis. Donalds Tramps pagājušajās dienās vairakkārt izteicies par kādu „teritoriju apmaiņu” starp pusēm, lai gan nav skaidrs, kas pret ko varētu tikt mainīts. Iespējams, kā „apmaiņa” varētu tikt traktēta Kremļa atteikšanās no vēl neiekarotajām Hersonas un Zaporižjes apgabalu daļām, kuras tā jau paguvusi pasludināt par savu teritoriju. Eiropas līderi dažādos formātos uzteikuši Vašingtonas centienus miera labā, taču atgādinājuši vispārzināmo – nekāda vienošanās par Ukrainu nav slēdzama bez Ukrainas un starptautiski atzītas valstu robežas nav maināmas ar militāras agresijas līdzekļiem. Pēdējā deklarācija šai sakarā bija Eiropadomes 12. augusta paziņojums, zem kura, kas zīmīgi, trūkst Ungārijas premjerministra Viktora Orbana paraksta. Eiropas galvaspilsētās acīmredzami nav pārliecības, ka piektdien Ankoridžā nenotiks kāda būtiska piekāpšanās agresorvalstij, piemēram, Baltā nama saimnieka pausta gatavība atzīt Krimu par Krievijas sastāvdaļu. Tā vien šķiet, ka Donalds Tramps uz Aļasku dodas nevis testēt, bet gan lai tiktu testēts. Aizkaukāza mezgls atraisīts? Smaidi un rokasspiedieni – tādu saulainu ainu pasaules mediju fotogrāfi fiksēja 8. augustā Baltajā namā, kur tika parakstīta Armēnijas, Azerbaidžānas un Savienoto Valstu trīspusējā deklarācija par mierīgu noregulējumu teju četras desmitgades konfliktējušo Aizkaukāza valstu starpā. Kā zināms, faktisko konflikta iznākumu noteica Azerbaidžānas militārais pārākums, kas ļāva tai 2023. gada septembrī pārņemt savā kontrolē Kalnu Karabahas jeb Arcakhas reģionu. Šo vēsturisko armēņu zemi padomju vara iekļāva toreizējā Azerbaidžānas PSR kā autonomu republiku, tātad no starptautiski atzīto robežu viedokļa tā ir Azerbaidžānas daļa, tomēr 90. gadu pirmajā pusē notikušā Pirmā Kalnu Karabahas kara rezultātā tā palika faktiskā Armēnijas kontrolē. Kalnu Karabahas atkarošana izraisīja praktiski visu armēņu tautības iedzīvotāju, apmēram simts tūkstošu, bēgšanu uz Armēnijas pamatteritoriju. Sekoja sarunu process, kas, lielā mērā pateicoties Armēnijas premjerministra Nikola Pašinjana gatavībai uz kompromisu, šī gada martā noslēdzās ar vienošanos par starptautiski atzīto robežu atjaunošanu un savstarpējo pretenziju noregulēšanu abu valstu starpā. Pagājušajā piektdienā Vašingtonā tika likvidēts vēl viens nozīmīgs domstarpību avots – jautājums par t.s. Zangezuras koridoru, plānotu transporta savienojumu cauri Armēnijas teritorijai starp Azerbaidžānu un tās rietumu eksklāvu Nahčivanas Autonomo republiku. Iepriekš Azerbaidžānas līderis Ilhams Alijevs draudējis izlauzt ceļu uz eksklāvu ar militāru spēku, bet nu šāda iespēja acīmredzot ir novērsta. Koridora sakarā būtiska loma paredzēta Savienotajām Valstīm, kas ieguvušas ekskluzīvas tiesības uz 99 gadiem tā attīstīšanai. Parakstīšanas ceremonijas laikā Azerbaidžānas prezidents Alijevs nāca klajā ar priekšlikumu nodēvēt koridoru par „Trampa Starptautiskā miera un labklājības trasi”. Pret koridora attīstīšanu jau krasi iebildusi Irāna, kuras robežas tiešā tuvumā tas atrodas, nodēvējot to par potenciālu Rietumu agresijas instrumentu un solot bloķēt. Atturīgi pozitīvi Armēnijas un Azerbaidžānas vienošanos raksturojusi Krievija, par spīti tam, ka vienošanās apliecina nepārprotamu Maskavas ietekmes sarukumu reģionā. Uzbrucēji, cik noprotams, nebija bruņoti un aizmuka, tiklīdz tuvumā parādījās policija. Viens no uzbrukumā cietušajiem izrādījās agrākais Valdības efektivitātes departamenta darbinieks, un tas, acīmredzot, ir rosinājis prezidentu Trampu bezprecedenta rīcībai – Vašingtonas policijas pārņemšanai tiešā federālās valdības kontrolē un papildināšanā ar Nacionālās gvardes un Federālā izmeklēšanas biroja spēkiem. Kā zināms, Savienoto Valstu galvaspilsēta un tās tuvākā apkārtne veido īpašu administratīvu vienību – Kolumbijas apgabalu. 1973. gadā pieņemtais Likums par Kolumbijas apgabala pašpārvaldi nosaka, ka prezidentam ir tiesības īpaši kritiskā situācijā uz divām diennaktīm ar vienpersonisku lēmumu pārņemt apgabala policiju savā kontrolē, ar iespēju pagarināt šo situāciju vēl uz mēnesi saziņā ar atbildīgo Kongresa komiteju vadību un locekļiem. Ilgāk par mēnesi tas iespējams tikai tad, ja Kongress pieņem attiecīgu likumu. 11. augustā notikušajā preses konferencē Baltā nama saimnieks paziņoja: „Mūsu galvaspilsētu ir pārņēmušas vardarbīgas bandas un asinskāri noziedznieki, klejojoši mežonīgu jauniešu pūļi, narkotiku apreibināti maniaki un bezpajumtnieki.” Viņš turpināja: „Es paziņoju par vēsturisku rīcību, lai glābtu mūsu valsts galvaspilsētu no noziedzības, asinsizliešanas, haosa un netīrības, un vēl kā ļaunāka.” Protams, kā ikvienā lielā pilsētā, arī Vašingtonā pastāv noziedzības problēmas, taču, spriežot pēc statistikas, situācijai pēdējos gados bijusi tendence uzlaboties. Tomēr statistika nav prezidenta Trampa iemīļota joma, kamēr efektīga varas mehānismu darbināšana – ir. Tagad nu Vašingtonas policija domā, kā iekļaut savā sistēmā federālos aģentus, kuriem lielākoties nav nedz pieredzes, nedz iemaņu kārtībnieku ikdienas funkciju veikšanā. Aizvadītajos Donalda Trampa varas mēnešos šādu precedentu ir jau vesela sērija, sākot ar regulārā karaspēka nosūtīšanu uz Meksikas robežu, beidzot ar neseno kriminālizmeklēšanas uzsākšanu pret prezidenta Obamas administrācijas darbiniekiem, kuri it kā esot fabricējuši pierādījumus par Krievijas iejaukšanos 2016. gada prezidenta vēlēšanās. Tiek arī bilsts, ka patiesais visas pašreizējās spilgtās rosības iemesls ir vēlēšanās novērst elektorāta uzmanību no solītās bet nenotikušās Džefrija Epstīna lietas materiālu publiskošanas, un FIB aģenti no Vašingtonas ielām pēc pāris nedēļām klusi izkūpēšot, līdzīgi kā pirms laiciņa jūras kājnieki no Losandželosas parkiem un bulvāriem. On this episode of Basic Folk, Kora Feder talks about her new album, 'Some Kind of Truth,' as well as reflecting on the incredible changes and growth she's experienced since we last spoke in February 2020. One of the impacts of the pandemic on her music career was the necessity of exploring other artistic ventures like crafting hats and lino-cutting. She relocated from Philly to California, finally settling in Detroit. Daughter of songwriter Rita Hosking, Kora went slightly viral during the height of COVID lockdowns thanks to her song "In a Young Person's Body." In the poignant composition she pays tribute to John Prine and old friends she hasn't spoken to in years – and captured that lonesome feeling of the pandemic incredibly well.Elsewhere in our conversation, Kora also discusses the passing of her grandparents, who she moved back to California to be with before they died. Their lives and deaths deeply influenced the new record. She opens up about the nuances of her gender identity, the importance of historical friendships that allow for unfiltered creativity, and her approach to writing both personal and political songs. We go through many of the tracks on the new project, including what I think is the best break-up song I've ever heard, "Paragraphs." Kora Feder is a really incredible leave-you-breathless songwriter, particularly with her political writing. Developmental relationship-based interventions have been around for many years, but have not received the level of attention that intervention approaches based on applied behavior analysis have received.
