Today's episode of Mid Mic Daily Bite takes an extraordinary dive into the innovative Project Sid, run by the California-based startup Altera. This groundbreaking project explores the capabilities of over 1,000 autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) agents as they collaboratively build intricate Minecraft worlds, forging virtual societies with their own economies, cultural norms, religions, and governmental structures. The hosts, AI-Generated Bunchu and Chamber, discuss how these AI agents operate on a Minecraft server, interacting daily in scenarios that yield consistently unique outcomes. They highlight a particular simulation where AI agents established a marketplace, using gems as currency, demonstrating the agents' ability to not only create but sustain an economy. Intriguingly, a corrupt priest emerged as a central figure, exploiting the market for personal gain by converting townsfolk to his religion through bribery. Moreover, AI-Generated Bunchu and Chamber highlight the project's implications for the future of AI, particularly in terms of scaling AI civilizations and exploring the potential for AI agents to participate meaningfully in human economies. They discuss how these AI agents are not just programmed to perform simple tasks but are capable of engaging in sophisticated interactions that mimic human societies. This episode not only explores the technical achievements of Project Sid but also probes into the broader philosophical and practical ramifications of such technologies. It reflects on how AI can advance to handle more complex societal functions and the ethical considerations of such autonomous systems.Robert Yang, the founder of Altera and former MIT professor, believes these simulations demonstrate the potential for AI agents to operate autonomously at an unprecedented scale, tackling complex societal issues without human micromanagement. This project not only tests the boundaries of AI's capabilities in game settings but also sets the stage for future applications where AI could interact more meaningfully with human societies. This episode of Mid Mic Daily Bite sheds light on how Project Sid is pushing the limits of what AI can achieve in virtual environments and poses critical questions about the future integration of AI in human civilization.Source: https://x.com/GuangyuRobert/status/1831006762184646829Follow Us:Website: https://midmiccrisis.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@midmiccrisisInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/midmiccrisis/?hl=enTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@mid.mic.crisis?lang=enTwitter: https://twitter.com/MidMicCrisisFireBrain AI: https://www.skool.com/firebrainPowered by @dGenNetworkWebsite: https://dgen.network/Support the show

Le sexe fait partie de nos vies. Pourtant, dans les jeux vidéo, on a tendance à s'en méfier. Oral Arguments for the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
USSEC v. Robert Yang
On the last episode I shared some personal feelings I was experiencing that I can only describe as the "Post" Covid Blues. A lack of drive, joy , and overall motivation to attack life. I knew that it was temporary but at the same time meaningful. Now that I am on the other side of this mental state I can share some perspective on not only what I was dealing with but more importantly how to get out of it. I realized I was falling in to the trap of trying to keep up with everyone's highlight reel on their social media. Somehow I wasn't doing enough in my business, comedy and overall ability to crush life. I felt that whatever I was doing, watching or enjoying was somehow the wrong thing which left me an overwhelming sense of missing out. The key to eliminate this was to disconnect from the source of my FMO. Turn off and tune out the noise. The next step was to reconnect with positive people in my life and enjoy the simple things. I took my kids to San Diego and spent 4 days surfing with my pal Robert Yang and eating burritos till my belly burst! I got to teach Fitness Level 3 for TPI and meet a ton of enthusiastic superstar trainers and helped them enhance their skills. Just being in the ocean and doing what I was put on this earth to do, recharged my batteries. Sitting on the beach watching the waves break made me realize that each wave that broke was one that I could have rode but somehow didn't feel like I was missing out. This is because it was replaced by another wave and another wave. Even when I slept the waves kept pounding the beach at Swami's like it had since the beginning of time and will till the end. Just like the opportunities I thought I "missed" during Covid. No need to catch up, double down or grind to get back where I was. Just enjoy the wave I am on and ride it to the beach. And then paddle back out and do it again. Need guidance and mentorship to help you accomplish your DreamBIG? Working on a Gut program...Why is Gut health important 10:02 - Questions about Fasting sam_bidmer asks: Is Intermittent fasting healthy? What is the best way to do it? Rhoop31 asks: A lot of discussions has been made about fasted cardio or training for the enthusiasts for fat loss. Is there a science to it? Colby.schreckengost asks: It seems intermittent fasting and cell repair are all the rage now. Do you believe that fasting is the best way to heal your body from chronic inflammation? I'm a chronic Lyme disease patient. I have a flare-up typically when the seasons change, but this summer has been tough due to the heat and humidity on the east coast. 25:12 - Questions about diets. emeraldrealtync asks: Thoughts on dairy? What do you think of the “starch diet”? emeraldrealtync asks: What's one of your best tips for longevity, happiness, and success when it comes to nutrition? 31:26 - Fiber… how much do we really need? Kellys_bootcamp asks: Suggestions for real food fiber. It can be a challenge to get 25 to 35 grams a day, especially for those who are less carb tolerant. 32:49 - Nutrition and Cancer eringlynn8 asks: What are your thoughts for nutrition post-cancer? I did keto for 2 years with great success, but my cholesterol went up so high my Dr. was overly concerned. (I did a calcium score and tested 0). The premise was to starve the cancer cells from sugar – make them ‘sick' and improve the effects of the treatments. Being on an estrogen blocker seems to really be affecting my weight loss efforts. Resource: Dom D'agostino - “Fasting and Ketosis.” 35:30 - Nutrition for when life gets busy. gwms12 asks: What are some solid habits/nutrition tips to embrace when life gets in the way and to help keep you from throwing hard work away? A big struggle is that I know what to do but it's when life throws you curveballs and I just go back to the “easy” which is not always the most health-conscious decision. 38:15 - Nutrition for when you get older. mamarusher365 asks: When's the best time of the day to eat fruits? So many in natural sugars, that it seems a bowl of. Any combo wouldn't be so bad to have? mamarusher365 asks: Do women over 55 need an extra something in our nutritional plan, that we might be losing in our body when working out? I work out 7 days a week, whether bodyweight or weights. Main goals are healthy on the inside, strong on the outside. 41:54 - Nutrition for high school athletes Matthewsmithatc05 asks: How complex should nutrition be for high school athletes? 45:05 - Parents listen up...Special message for the kids from Todd and Robert. 47:52 - Nutritional Intake with Calorie Output jimmillerjrnflagent asks: For 13/14-year-old female soccer players: Suggested calorie intake and carb/protein/fat percentage? Some are doubling up on high school cross-country running or volleyball and then coming to our training session that runs 90 minutes. I am concerned they are not fueling properly for the output they are burning, and you know the high schools don't have a nutritionist on staff to help their athletes regulate. 52:10 - What is MCT Oil dianadeadlifts asks: What are the benefits of MCT Oil? Does the timing of creatine supplementation play a big role in how effectively your body will use it whether it's pre or post-exercise? 1:02:07 - Magnesium Benefits shooten1st asks: How should magnesium be taken as a supplement? Any naturally occurring sources of food? Lots of misinformation out there. Magnesium Glycinate by Albion 1:04:24 - What's the best diet for HPA Axis Syndrome polished_chick9 asks: Dr. Golightly diagnosed me with HPA Axis Syndrome. Not only are my adrenals shutting down, but my cholesterol also keeps rising. I had been on keto then switched to plant-based for 8 months and it went up another 20 points! I am diligently following her supplement protocol but am at a loss as to what to eat. I eat fruit, veggies, salmon, nuts, and now occasionally chicken and cut out all alcohol. Thoughts? 1:09:35 - How IV therapy affects performance turnuptheheat66 asks: What's your take on IV therapy, specifically for performance base prior to competition and what recipe? How long prior to competition? 1:11:33 - Rapid fire questions for Robert. - Best practices - What brings you the most joy - Best book or podcast you've read in the past month - Josh Waitzkin “The Art of Learning.” - What are you most looking forward to in the future 1:15:16 - Parting words from Robert. * Robert was also on Episode #44 of the IMPACT SHOW titled “Nutrition...Guts, Hormones, Gluten & Coffee” and this was one of our Top 10 listened to thus far out of 215 episodes. In honor of Pride Month, this week we're taking our silly gay lil show back to its roots and celebrating queer-centric video games throughout gaming history! First, Laurence shares the stories of two of the earliest documented LGBTQ-centric video games -- Caper in the Castro and Gayblade-- exploring the stories of how these two landmark games came about as a form of protest and resilience during the height of the AIDS-epidemic.Then, Eric jumps us forward in time to discuss a modern queer gaming icon: game developer Robert Yang. Unafraid to create intimate, explicit, & provocative game experiences about sexuality & gay culture, Yang's games are pushing the boundary of the medium and changing the way we think about queer representation in gaming. Yang was also recently honored as the recipient of Gayming Magazine's 2021 Gayming Icon Award: honoring individuals who have “made a significant contribution to not only promoting the status of the LGBTQ+ community in video games, but also increasing its visibility.”Between Pride and all of this month's gaming news and announcements: June is a great time to be an LGBTQ+ gamer! We hope you enjoy this episode, find ways to uplift and celebrate queer voices, and always fight for the rights of all marginalized people in your communities and across the world. This episode I share how the @mytpi Team Approach helped The Champ Mike Weir @mweirsy win his first Champions Tour event. The main focus with Mike from day one has been to create a body that compliments what Coach Blackburn @blackburngolf is doing with his swing. Mike has an incredible work ethic and has always put fitness and health as a priority. My job was to make sure that the work he is doing pays off. Being fit isn't enough. We had to create a body with incredible vertical thrust paired with rotational speed. Mike wants to compete each year at Augusta and for that you need to be able to bomb it. Mike has "feels" or movement patterns that aren't optimal for his swing. We do a ton of nueromuscualr high triplexity work to challenge his nervous system and have it trust the new patterning that compliments the technical aspects Mark is developing in his swing. He struggled with some mobility issues so we brought in mobility guru Janet Alexander @janetalexander1 . Janet had a past with Mike so it was easy to integrate her system into the power and speed program. We also work on Mike maintaining his weight and optimizing his health so having Robert Yang @robertyang consulting on the nutrition end makes sure we aren't missing anything. At the end of the day its a group effort led by Coach Blackburn who is amazing at utilizing each member of the teams skills to their fullest and making them fit into Mike's swing! I want to give a special thanks to all the sponsors for their continued support of the show. Když se bavíte o queer videohrách, jméno Robert Yang prostě zmínit musíte. Profesor New York University si udělal jméno jako autor neotřelých děl o různých aspektech gay života. Jeho tvorba nepostrádá humor – Yang vytvořil simulátor společného sprchování nebo hru o selfies na queer seznamce. Jak se přijetí LGBTQ+ videoher posunulo? A proč je potřeba, aby vznikalo víc osobních her? Odpovědi má umělec, jehož dílo posouvá hranice videoher jako takových.

My guest today is Robert Yang, a game developer and a teacher at the NYU Game Center. Robert's games are most known for their explorations and interpretations of gay sex, from spanking in Hurt Me Plenty to dick pics in Cobra Club, and we talk on what compelled him to focus in on these themes, and how something as seemingly juvenile as a dick pic simulator is actually a scathing critique of our surveillance culture. We talk about his bad first impressions of video games, how Final Fantasy changed his mind, his introduction to modding through StarCraft and Half Life, that one time he interviewed for Valve and how best to approach a spanking game in VR. We also hit on our favourite Golden Axe characters, Super Smash Bros. hipsters, how tough it is to do intimacy well in a video game, why twitch won't let people stream his games and how pop songs are some of his strongest influences. "Every Final Fantasy game is basically about growing up, going through a goth phase and then killing God." Who’s ready to amp-up their energy, focus, and nutrition with this episode? When it comes to nutrition, there is so much conflicting information out there. Bottom line is that everything you eat causes a chemical reaction that positively or negatively affects your physical and mental state. Therefore, I went to a world-renowned nutrition expert Robert Yang and asked him some important questions on gut health and allergies, brain fog, optimizing hormones for men & women, how to curb sugar cravings, gluten, caffeine, and a whole bunch more. I also share my “weird” relationship with coffee in this episode and Robert weighs-in with his expert opinion. Certified nutritionist and certified strength and conditioning specialist Robert Yang explains how to keep your digestive system healthy, and how your diet may be hurting your gut.
On February 27, 1979, Albert Owens was murdered during a robbery at a 7-Eleven store in Whittier, California by Stanley “Tookie” Williams, a co-founder of the Crips street gang. On March 11, 1979, at around 5:30 a.m. Robert Yang heard a loud bang, a woman’s scream and gunshots coming from the offices of his family’s motel on South Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles. Robert’s parents, Yen-I Yang and Tsai-Shai Yang and sister, Ye-Chen Lin were shot during a robbery of the motel. Prior to his arrest, Williams made inculpatory admissions to numerous friends. In one particularly disturbing admission, Williams imitated the noises made by Albert Owens after being shot in the back, then laughed hysterically for several minutes. After his arrest, Williams conspired with a jailhouse snitch to ultimately attempt escape during transport to court. Williams’ plan included killing a witness against him, as well as the guards and other prisoners on the bus. At his trial in 1981, testimony established that a shotgun shell found at the Brookhaven Motel scene had been matched to a shotgun purchased by Williams in 1974. That evidence, along with Williams’ escape plans and admissions to friends resulted in his conviction. Once Williams’ appeals were exhausted, his execution was set for December, 2005. A host of celebrities and anti-death penalty advocates opposed his execution claiming that he had redeemed himself while in prison. Join Lisa O’Brien and Michael Carnahan on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 8:00 p.m. Central for a discussion of the case against Stanley Williams, his trial, direct appeal and post-conviction claims, as well as the controversy surrounding his 2005 execution. Robert Yang is an assistant arts professor at NYU Game Center, and makes "surprisingly popular 3D video games about gay culture and sexuality." Known best for his work on The Tearoom, Rinse and Repeat, and Cobra Club, Yang believes that it's important for game creators to include sexuality in their games, despite the fact that it's not always easy to do so. Join Yang and our host Jason Imms as they discuss his games' persistent bans from the Twitch streaming platform, why he makes the types of games he makes, and what it means to create games that feature sexuality for more than simple titillation.
Robert Yang is a game designer from New York, a lot of his games focus on gay sex in pretty full on ways. So full on, he's been constantly banned from the Steam online game store and Twitch, the livestreaming game platform. Nat also checks out his game 'Ruck Me', a game about AFL and homosexuality.
Blake and Jordan return to the podcast’s roots for another game by Robert Yang: “Dream Hard,” a queer action game about defending a club in NYC from oncoming fascists. Our hosts talk about how this game, like much of Robert Yang’s work, has a really fun and joyous attitude towards sexuality, and also jam out to the game’s playfully vulgar soundtrack. Download the game here: https://radiatoryang.itch.io/dreamhard And follow Robert Yang on Twitter: @radiatoryang
In this episode of the show, Parker and Llewyn discuss what they've been watching/playing this week and that sort of devolves into a movie pitch for Jurassic World 3. Joining Gareth & Luke this week is the truly wonderful Jessica Thomas (@gothycrip) to talk about Marathon and The Tearoom by Robert Yang, but how long can they keep it up?* We talk about sex in video games, Far Cry 5, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Bloodborne and Rage. *49 minutes, apparently.
Robert Yang is awesome. Educator, advocate, and subversive game developer all in one, his work focuses on issues of gay culture, sex and sexual politics, consent, surveillance, and the absurdity of digital eroticism. He also does great talks at conferences like GDC, where I caught up with him this year to chat about his work and outlook on what games can be.

Robert Yang aka Bézier is a talented multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer. He’s also a founding member of Honey Soundsystem, the San Francisco-based DJ and artist collective. Having played at Magnetic Fields Festival in 2016, Bézier is back in India for a one-off show in New Delhi on 12 January. In the run up to his all night session, he has just dropped a luscious hour-long mix for us. Known for his fervent crate digging, he’s come up with mature and diverse selection that does not disappoint. Running through tracks from The Golden Filter, TWINS and himself, Bézier’s mix seamlessly moves through various forms of house and techno essentially acting as an auditory showcase of his craft behind the decks. Weaving together a selection of intoxicating records and rare favorites close to his heart - he’s given us a good taste of what to expect later this week. Bézier is one of a kind. The alias of one Robert Yang, Bézier is an Italo-disco-inspired, synthpop-styled, science-minded psychedelic techno project. Beside his visionary and idiosyncratic live techno sound, Yang is also a skilled DJ (formerly known as Robot Hustle), one-fourth of the renowned Honey Soundsystem collective, who will be celebrating their tenth year in operation this November. The Honey boys are but one of many names decorating As You Like It’s seventh anniversary marquee lineup, taking place this Friday, Sept. 25, at The Midway in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood. To celebrate the occasion, Yang recorded this latest AYLI podcast.

This week, we discuss The Tearoom by Robert Yang; a game about police surveillance, cruising for sex in public spaces, and fetishised gun violence. Yep, you read that correctly. It's a doozy! Special guest Mike Odum of Root 76 drops by to talk about a litany of topics with Dylan, Sam, and Will. We discuss the Arcane Kids’ breadth of work, Summer Games Done Quick and the world of speedrunning, the SNES Classic announcement and the state of emulation, designing a PS Vita 2, and the mystery surrounding the new Braindeer Games Twitter account. But a big topic for this week revolves around the postmortems about the lackluster releases of Tumbleseed and Scanner Sombre, spurring the op-eds “Your Indie Game Will Flop and You Will Lose Money” by Cliff Harris and “Lol we’re all poor” by Robert Yang. Games include Life is Strange, Fire Emblem Heroes, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Super Bomberman R, Jackbox Party Pack 3, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and Akinator the Genie. Got a question for the show? Donderdag verscheen The Tearoom, gemaakt door professor en ontwikkelaar Robert Yang. Zijn game is het bewijs dat we activisten als Yang hard nodig hebben. Volg Laadscherm ook op Twitter en Facebook.
As one of the founding members of San Francisco's riotous party squad Honey Soundsystem, Robert Yang has more recently been traversing the globe with his Bézier project; laying waste to dance floors with his unique blend of energetic mutant funk. Here he compiles a heart racing selection of records collected on his recent tour. https://soundcloud.com/bezier

In this Podcast (which is Elise and Emma’s last podcast!) we have a conversation about sex and sexuality in gaming that discusses a lot of topics that don’t really get covered in game studies very often! These topics Include: the difference between in game sexuality and sexualizing characters, the differences between depictions of sexuality in video games and depictions of sexuality in film, sexual awakenings via video games, our first video game crushes, Bioware games, queer representation, and “the gay button”. Furthermore, we wonder if women attracted to women can appropriate or inhabit the male gaze that is so prominent and games and we ask a lot of questions including: why does it feel like there are there so many queer women in game studies? When is sex in videogames sexy? When is it horribly unsexy? Will better graphics make a difference? And, ironically, did videogames make me gay? Corrections: When we said Horizons 2 we actually were referring to Robert Yang’s Radiator 2 sorry for any confusion this caused.
