If there is one barrier in life that could prevent you from reaching your highest potential in life its what comes within not the challenges that are yet to be overcome. This is a persons ego....this has many definitions in modern day psychology such as a person's sense of self-esteem or self importance and a part of the mind that is responsible for a humans sense of reality and personal identity. When left unchecked however we can become slaves to our ego. How is this bad? It augments our sense of reality, Leaves us ignorant to other peoples constructive criticism, robs us of creativity, and changes the way we face problems. In this episode we address how to keep our egos in check with Motivational Speaker, Sergeant and leader of United States Marines, and podcast host of "Extraordinary Thoughts for the Ordinary Minds" we formulate solutions for controlling the human ego through real life lessons learned and a few case studies of the well known entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk (Gary Vee). I have preached this once and many times after this. Mental health is one of the pillars overall health and can have profound repercussions on athletic performance, holistic health, and your overall mental state. This concept is definitely challenged in times like now where we are facing a pandemic that is leaving us in our homes of residences and teleworking. Cases of depression is expected to spike up to 48% in American Populace over the course of this pandemic. A lot of the stressors of your workplace can easily be amplified, but don't worry we defeat this demon in this entirety in this episode. In addition, we are seeing record unemployment in the US that is eclipsing the numbers of the 2008 recession. However, perspective is everything and we must see the positive in every situation. Just because you have been laid off doesn't make you any less valuable in the work. In fact, it is easier then ever to leverage technology in order to land a career even in the middle of pandemic!!! There is indeed hope on the horizon and the American Spirit is far from dead.In this episode we will be covering all these topics including leveraging the business professional social media website known as LinkedIn with Nicole Jovicevic, Entrepreneur, Mental Health Expert, Ted Talk Speaker and Career and Talent Transition Specialist. In society and in life, institutionalized education teaches you the concept of what success is (which in essence is working your way up to the top alone). Nowhere will teach you the importance of a team and good systems. Whether its fitness, real estate, entrepreneurship, or any other life endeavor its important to create systems because you cant do everything alone. "If you want to go fast go alone. If you want to go far go with a team."In this episode we explore these concepts with CJ Finley serial entrepreneur and CEO of the brand "ThriveOnLife" which helps startups(not just fitness) and online fitness platforms scale, build core values, build a valuable team, and continue to thrive not just survive.DISCLAIMER: A majority of the knowledge in this episode they might not have taught you in school and thats more than fine. Currently, Life as we know it has been drastically changed. To prevent the spread of the virus known as the Corona Virus (COVID-19) world governments and the Center of Disease Control has implement measures such as social distancing (keeping at least 6ft apart from other human beings in order to prevent the virus from spreading even more. This has caused temporary closures in business's, restaurants, the gym (near and dear to my heart), and has caused a majority of corporate America to leverage the internet effectively and work from their homes (otherwise known as teleworking).
