Peace! https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=5E6WCP8KAS4NG This new series of episodes on Cosmic Dancer podcast channel, aims to disseminate the theoretical teachings of Vedanta philosophy, (dating back nearly 7,000 years), through the practical experiences of daily life. This is through the involvement of guests from the world of music, art, literature, science, etc... Vedanta is not a religion. Vedanta is a philosophy, the Mother of all world philosophies and religions. The Bhagavad Gita is the most representative text of Vedanta, one of the most widely read books ever. We celebrate the teachings of the eminent philosopher Swami Parthasarathy (he is 96 years old) who founded the organization Vedanta Global, and who has authored numerous best sellers including Vedanta Treatise - The Eternities and the invaluable commentary on the Bhagavad Gita. Topic: Discussing Vedanta , MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and Ahimsa (non-violence), quoting the Bhagavad Gita, with strong Italian fighter of Albanian descent, Leon Aliu. MMA is a combat sport that takes its name from the English acronym Mixed Martial Arts, which means mixed martial arts. It is a discipline in which the two combatants can use any technique possible to defeat each other and which fuses the movements of Judo, karate, Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, grappling and kickboxing. Leon Aliu is a strong MMA fighter of Albanian descent who lives and trains in Reggio Emilia with the coach Alessandro Iacono, is coming off a major win in the main event of Cage Warriors 138. There, the middleweight put on a masterful performance by knocking out James Webb in less than two minutes in front of his home crowd. Such a victory drew interest in Aliu and UFC - Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White decided to provide him with the chance of a lifetime. He will have an important fight to face in Las Vegas next September 20 against Brazilian fighter Bruno Ferreira. Ahimsa (non-injury) in its spiritual scope means never having cruel intentions. Non-injury is the spirit that should dominate all our motivations. Our intentions should not be polluted by even a trace of cruelty or hatred. Non-injury is not so much about never causing physical injury to any being as it is about never contemplating harming any living creature. Physically, not hurting is impossible. In order to continue living, some kind of physical harm is unavoidable. However, even if we create unavoidable disturbances around us, if our motives are pure and clean, the harm thus caused is not considered an injury. To best understand in concept of Ahimsa, one must read carefully this story from the Sufi Tradition: "A Sufi soldier was in the middle of a battle. It was a hand-to-hand combat. He skillfully fought the enemy with his dagger. He soon knocked the enemy to the ground and sat astride his chest, raising his hand to drop the dagger. The enemy, in his helpless rage, spat in the face of the Sufi soldier. The Sufi soldier's hand remained suspended in mid-stride and did not strike. "What are you waiting for?" said the fallen enemy. "I am totally under your power. Go ahead, kill me!" The Sufi soldier replied: "I can't. I was doing my duty and you were doing yours. I don't know you and you don't know me. Now you introduced a personal note by spitting at me in anger and I got angry. Now killing you will not be an act of duty, but murder." What Arjuna is taught in the Bhagavad Gita is the essence of all Eastern martial arts, where one is trained to strike the opponent, but within oneself one remains in the center of stillness. They are told to kill but not to not commit murder. This is ahimsa on the battlefield. This is the resolution of the Bhagavad Gita's "koan" of nonviolence.
Back once again, the renegade masters! That's right. After our first ever hiatus to-date, Broken Oars Podcast returns. In this episode, the Southern one and the Northern one discuss life, and how it gets everyone in the end; extended projects; bringing down the education system from within; why the Twilight series is an extended and disturbing primer on staying in abusive relationships; the Steinman philosophy of love and why Jed Bartlett isn't the President America deserves (as we all thought when The West Wing was in its pomp), but is actually a really annoying know-it all gobshite. Sidestepping neatly into a discussion of the golden age of television; why 16 - 26 year olds tend to want explosions and gunplay over dramatic consistency; and whether MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and MMU (Manchester Metropolitan University) are related, and if so, is MMU churning out the next generation of steriod-using hyperviolent psychotics to feed Dana White's empire, we gingerly get to the business of the day. (And by gingerly, we don't mean that the Southern one again advances his theory that gingers excel in sport because the playground has toughened them up, but gingerly in the sense of cautiously and with caveats abounding ...). Because this is the episode where we get to grips with the ongoing furore that is the inclusion of Trans individuals in sporting categories. Broken Oars Podcast has previously discussed Jurgen Grobler's problematic past; doping in sport; athlete welfare; and the historical failures of sporting institutions to provide that. We've seen Bikey Twitter throw poo at us because we had the temerity to say that female athletes should be paid the same as male ones. We have also, let it not be forgotten, seen Matthew Pinsent rowed out of our fantasy eight by Beowulf. So, we're no strangers to controversy. However, the tsunami of opinion that engulfed us when we recently came down on the side that Lia Thomas should be allowed, encouraged and supported in competing - because we believe in sport for all - while also saying that we felt it was unfair on the women she was competing against that she was competing against them ... well, that was off-the-charts. So the same spirit that saw us address Jurgen's past in the GDR when a bunch of trolls suggested that British Rowing's success was juiced saw us sit down to talk through the whys and wherefores of Trans individuals in sport. And we do it gingerly because we're two middle-class, middle-aged, middlingly-educated men of a certain skin colour and nationality ... and frankly, that even discussing this seems to be an invitation to having your head kicked in the third decade of the twenty-first century is terrifying. Nevertheless, we talk through the science, ethics, morality and transphobia of trans individuals in sport carefully and with qualifications and caveats proliferating, asking how the current situation has been allowed to evolve into such a badly-handled firestorm, and asking what the way forward is. We're back! Did you miss us? Because we missed you. (NB: This episode was recorded before the ruling on Emily Bridges had been passed). Bowside? Pull strokeside around again. They deserve it. Lazy buggers.

Happy 10th Anniversary to what might be the greatest Rocky movie ever but….not actually featuring Rocky nor even in that universe. This film centers on the Conlon's, two estranged brothers played by Hardy and Edgerton, who are both competing to be the best in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) – yes this is a sports drama but it's so much more!It stars Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Morrison, Frank Grillo, and Nick Nolte who was nominated for an Oscar for his excellent raw performance. It's also directed by Gavin O'Connor who also gave us the terrific Miracle in 2004.Host: Geoff Gershon Producer: Marlene Gershonhttps://livingforthecinema.com/#movie reviews #warrior
Ok, it is time that I admit to you all that I love MMA- Mixed Martial Arts. I just can't help myself. I am learning how to be in my body. And I mean to really embody my human experience. I didn't realize how important staying "in my body" was until I realized that it was something I had to fight for... As much as I love a beautiful vinyasa flow, I can not deny the fighter in me and this is the year that I decided to embrace it. I am taking my love of yoga, breath work and mindfulness and walking where else, but into a Dojo to learn Roufosport Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu! It has only been a few months, but as you can imagine, I've had a lot of feelings about it. Enjoy!
The MMA world and how money factors in. Why aren't they getting paid bigger bucks for putting their lives on the line? Cain Valasquez, Brock Lesnar, Frankie Edgar. The crazy primal coil and the glory of incredible athletes who show up in a big way. Calcio Storico is the world's most violent game. Is sports just an outlet to safely prevent us from attacking each other all the time?
Družina in nje ljudje so zanj prioriteta. Rad potuje in uživa.

Mike Piekarski is a doctor of physiotherapy with probably the best name on instagram @Doctor_kickass! And he certainly knows how to kick ass having spent time working with some of the best MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) athletes in the world. . It's not just 'ass kicking' that Mike specialises in though. As a doctor of physiotherapy he specialises in putting people 'back together' after injury and even more importantly, making your body and joints more robust and resilient so they don't get injured in the first place. . Now you might not need your elbow for example to be so strong and robust that it can be protected when someone is literally trying to snap it in an MMA fight, but... the joint conditioning work that Mike uses can help us protect our joints like the shoulder and elbow that get put under a lot of strain during calisthenics training. . In this episode, Taj talks about what it means to have power in reserve. This concept is discussed in terms of the actions of the “noble warrior,” the “savage survivalist,” and the deceptive “sophisticated savage.” This episode includes stories of legendary japanese swordsmiths (Muramasa & Masamune), old school Karate practitioners and the Pandavas from the Hindu epic- The Mahabharata. Taj shares insights into the differences between deliberative and instrumental freedoms and the Islamic notion of intelligence as implying restraint. Learn about Italian “sprezzatura” and the pitfalls inherent in the braggadocious “uncle and aunty culture.” British etiquette is compared to American frontiersmanship in discussing the essentials of edified civilizations. Taj turns to world renowned MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) coach Firas Zahabi and fictional superhero, Superman to glean lessons of cultivating power for noble purposes.

Opening: Forked podcast welcomes Matt Socholotiuk. He is a truly inspiring man. He’s 30 years old from Brantford Ontario. He moved to Montreal Quebec in 2013 with the intention of starting his fighting career in mixed martial arts. He is presently a personal trainer and boxing coach. He intends to open his own gym in the near future. 00:02:00 I jump right into the question of how Matt is able to reinvent himself so quickly and over come major career obstacles. He’s a guy that just doesn’t stay down. His response is that he feels that having people who support you is a critical element. We also need to be ready to adapt and be flexible to the challenges that we encounter. Allow yourself to evolve and be flexible. 00:03:00 Matt shares his pre Montreal journey with us. His first major life challenge began when he was playing football for the university of Waterloo when he was 21 years old. He was tested positive for steroids and human growth hormone. He was the first Canadian football player to be tested positive for human growth hormone. Following his suspension, was when he came to Montreal. He previously boxed and wrestled in the summer months so his departure from Waterloo was to try his hand at MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) in Montreal. 00:05:00 He shares the background story that led up to his decision to take steroids and growth hormone for enhanced performance. 00:10:00 Matt helps us to understand what motivates him to duplicate success in multiple areas of performance. After his suspension from football, he rose to a high level ranking in the arena of MMA (mixed martial arts). 00:11:00 we inevitably touch on the topic of his tattoos and he tells us what they mean to him. His tattoos are very reflective of his moods. 00:12:30 Crisis is not solved by just reading a quote. It can take us to dark places that can be very difficult to emerge from. 00:13:00 The crisis of lost identity when we depart from something that was very meaningful to us. He is a firm believer that we have to live through the emotional upheaval and experience it. We should never suppress our emotions. 00:15:30 How does Matt stay away from negative thinking? Hard work and being busy is a major key to keeping his mind in a positive place. 00:20:00 we discuss how Matt’s outward image is not an obstacle to his networking. He is able to connect to people rapidly and get past their first visual impression. 00:22:00 how do we move beyond the story of our past and allow a new paradigm to emerge? 00:23:30 we discuss the interview he had when he was suspended from Waterloo. The interview was highly judgemental yet Matt composed himself and maintained composure despite his anger. 00:27:00 we discuss the importance of building a solid reputation. Rebuilding a damaged reputation can be a painful path. Matt discusses how it is critical to owing the mess ups we make and also have people around us who support us. 00:32:30 what ways can we develop ourselves outside of the trendy and more popular norms? 00:33:30 we talk about spirituality and if Matt practices a spiritual life. 00:36:00 final departing words. Matt’s future ambitions and what’s coming up in the next 5 years. He looks forward to opening his own boxing gym and training studio. 00:38:30 final advice to people who are feeling trapped and not knowing where to start. You can connect with Matt on Instagram. @ boxing_trainer_mtl

Discussing the benefits of personal spiritual and emotional health, Lee is joined this week by Reiki Master Teacher and health coach Cazembe Abena. Exploring his experiences with Spiritual Hygine, he shares concepts of how dis-ease and disease tie together, and how vulnerability with ourselves and with others can help our success in life. From the impacts of the patriarchy on men's journeys to building a higher vibration – including not constantly explaining one's self – they share their own views and open space for those listening to learn from them. ** Passion And Soul Podcast: iTunes Subscription: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/passion-soul-podcast-by-lee/id840372122 RSS Feed: http://passionandsoul.libsyn.com/rss Past MP3 files: http://passionandsoul.libsyn.com PassionAndSoul Audio Page: http://passionandsoul.com/media/podcast/ Stitcher: http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/erotic-awakening-podcast/passion-and-soul Contact Cazembe Abena: Divine Resonance, LLC: https://www.facebook.com/DivineResonanceLLC/ Links, Events, People and Movies Mentioned: RopeCraft, New Orleans, November 4-6: http://ropecraft.net Leather Reign, Seattle Area, November 11-13: http://leatherreign.org Sex Down South, Atlanta, October 13-15: http://sexdownsouth.com Devi Ward Podcast: http://passionandsoul.com/audio/devi-ward/ Frenchie Davis Podcast: http://passionandsoul.com/audio/092-frenchie/ Reiki: http://www.reiki.org/faq/whatisreiki.html MMA (Mixed Martial Arts): http://www.mmafighting.com Spiritual Hygiene (Huffington Post): http://www.huffingtonpost.com/hwansan-sunim/spiritual-hygiene_b_7234620.html Power vs. Force by David R. What does the Bible say about extreme fighting / violent sports? Are boxing, MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), and UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) sports Christians can support, participate in, and enjoy?
I am an only child born and raised in New York City. Both of my parents are second generation Italian American. They are hard working entrepreneurs’ who each own a successful business. They taught me a lot including hard work and the value of a person. I graduated from Hofstra University with a bachelor's Degree in Business. Two Years ago i went on Vacation to South Beach Miami and fell so much in love with it that i decided to make the big move!!!While living in Miami I got caught up in the lifestyle of eating right and working out all of the time. Even though my whole life I trained MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) and always lifted weights it inspired me to go to the next level. I now had a burning desire for the perfect physique. While Training in one of my crazy Beast mode sessions I was approached from a local photographer who asked if she could take some pics of me for her portfolio…And that’s when it all began… After that I started shooting with her weekly to get comfortable being in front of the camera.. It just made me even more motivated then I already was and I really started hitting the gym more and got really crazy with the nutrition aspect of weight lifting.. I went on to shoot with many photographers. I’ve been Fitness modeling for close to a year now and I am really on a mission to get my name out in 2011.. I hope to hit a few covers this year and possibly make a workout video.
