Things Discussed: Best Michigan team ever? Seth: This team would destroy any previous Michigan team. The game gets better, the training gets better, the strategy gets better. They played together like they were together four years. Championships are not easy. This team vs Fab Five: Fabs had to score at the rim, and you can't do that against this team. 1989 team? The way Rice was shooting they could beat anybody, and they had more shooting. 2013 team? They were so good offensively but they'd need a ridiculous shooting day from the backcourt. Remember they didn't let Terry shoot threes, but perhaps he developed that in the NBA. The refs hated the Fabs so much more than this team too, and they didn't really have a developed post game until Juwan was a junior. But imagine if you could put college C-Webb on a modern team, making him a switchable five? Oh man he'd be so good now. This is the next evolution of hoops: consistent twos are better than threes, because threes will die on you. Hunter S. Thompson: Sports journalist. Loy = Morez? No. Program golden age? They're going to continue to be very good, but this year will be among the best. It took a lot of luck to have a guy like Mara going unused by Mick Cronin and have a guy like Yaxel who's the best player of last year who wasn't in the NBA this year. It gets harder to rebuild this team, because even Izzo is in the portal for rim protectors. The market at the rim has gone way up after they saw this team. JP Estrella will help them on ORebs: he was one of the best on that team of bears. Break: Our what-might-have-been team: Sam's is Kelly Baraka, Seth's is Antonio Bass as Rich Rod's 2008 QB. Football: Hiter hype is off the charts. Sam thinks he's going to be an amazing zone runner. Reliving Najee Harris: there were two flights; he was sitting next to Tua Tagovailoa on the other one, so you can't criticize him too much. Sounds like a really good OL: Sam takes his Frazier victory lap. Gwar and Sprague and Norton, LG is Link, Efobi or Gach. How much will they run the QB? 1) They flipped an Illinois commit, and 2) Whittingham's an Urban Meyer assistant.

Rich Rodriguez is back at it, and the energy in Morgantown is shifting. After a tough 4-8 transition season in 2025, "Rich Rod 2.0" is entering his second spring practice with a massive roster overhaul and a chip on his shoulder. Is the foundation finally set for the Mountaineers to return to national prominence? In this video, we recap the key takeaways from Coach Rodriguez's latest spring press conference (March 9, 2026). From "Alpha" transfers to the freakish athleticism of the freshman class, we break down why the rest of the Big 12 should be on high alert. In this recap, we cover: The "Alpha" in the Room: Why Jacksonville State transfer Cam Cook is already the leader of the RB room. Freshman Fireworks: Rich Rod's plan for four-star standout Matt Sieg—could we see him playing both ways (Safety & RB/Slot) by the end of spring? The "Freak" List: Why freshman Kevin Brown is already breaking weight room records and "squatting half the building." The pads come on this Wednesday, and the intensity is already at a "high level." Is this the start of something special, or just another rebuilding year? Drop a comment below: What's your record prediction for the Mountaineers in 2026? The Mountaineers are on a absolute tear in the transfer portal! We are breaking down the last six massive commitments that are set to redefine the roster for the 2026 season. From a ballhawk safety to the nation's leading rusher, Rich Rodriguez is building a "win-now" squad in Morgantown. The "Super Six" we're discussing tonight: Kamari Wilson (S, Memphis): A veteran "ballhawk" journeyman with SEC and Big 12 experience, brought in to immediately fix the secondary. Andrew Powdrell (CB, UNLV): A late-night addition on Wednesday, joining his teammate to bolster the defensive backfield. Devin Vass (OL, Kansas State): A massive 6'6" Big 12 starter who didn't allow a single sack last season—exactly the protection the new QBs need. David Afogho (EDGE, Bowling Green): A productive sophomore pass rusher who adds much-needed pressure to the defensive front. Malachi Hood (LB, Illinois): A physical Big Ten transfer who provides veteran leadership and starting experience to the linebacker room. Cam Cook (RB, Jacksonville State): The headline-grabber. We're talking about the nation's leading rusher (1,659 yards in 2025) coming to the Mountaineer backfield. In this stream, we cover: Why these specific players fit the Rich Rod system. Thing Discussed: Most excited about the hire: there are adults in the room. Spent 20+ coaching in one place with no scandals. Impressed that they stabilized the program so quickly. Portal recruiting happens in December; they're playing from behind because IU was setting up all of these visits weeks ago. Notice they're getting special teams guys because Coombs was already in his job. Whittingham as Crisler (Brian: [moans]), as an established outsider who locked down Harmon to survive the transition. That was the end of the Yost Cycle, and likewise this is the end of the Bo Cycle. What happens next? How does he develop ways to take advantage of Michigan's place in the new world. Money allocation is a big conversation going forward. Indiana puts all of its resources into the portal, Michigan will pay a NOB and also pay a Rolder. New offense: Not a whole lot different under Harbaugh? Utah fans: "get ready to run QB Power!"...okay! "Tell your TEs to prepare to be blockers." Sure. "Don't expect any Seth: More Urban Meyer approach where it's about efficiency more than explosives. Loaded at OL, have great RBs. Main feature of Beck is he plays a "tight end" who's really a receiver. Brian points out JJ Buchanan is 6'3"/225 and only played five snaps inline—that's just a wide receiver. Point is they're way more spread than people realize. In Break: Ryan Mallett (RIP). Craig says Lloyd tried to broker a conference with Mallett's dad and Rich Rod, neither side was interested. Jay Hill: Has the bona fides, knows where the hashes are, made Weber State a power. Schematically, going back to more of a Cover-1 look. Notre Dame defense is similar, also a lot like the Ryan Walters stuff where they turn their 4-2 into a 5-1 regularly. Really wanted to keep Cole Sullivan (as a WLB who can DE or S) and Jordan Young (as a nickel who can S or CB) for this system. Think Jyaire or Shamari would be good in that nickel role. Biggest hurdle for this staff? Probably learning how to recruit as Michigan instead of Utah.

Things Discussed: RIP Zia Combs. Wink shit. Brian and I are done. Is it coaching or players? I say coaching, because there's no point in running the stuff, even if it's good stuff, if you don't have the coaching points down, and the #1 coaching points are not in. They're going to have to simplify, stick to some basics until they can run all of this stuff. Hillman: Unplayable at this bust rate, but too good of a player to not coach the bust rate out of him. Players going off-script? If it's seniors you gotta ask why they think they have to. Wink Shit: Never drops a DT into a screen. Plays three DTs. Expected long passing and got short. Had no way to defend power. It was all so easy; the only thing that stopped USC was a bad call and 2 redzone turnovers. Worst coaching performance since Rich Rod made Greg Robinson go 3-3-5 vs Purdue in 2009. Offense is young but you can see what they'll look like post-mistakes. Found a WR2 in Marsh, might want to try some max-pro to get BU confident.

Ohio knocked off West Virginia last week and the Mountaineers played very poorly offensively. Rich Rod said WVU can't beat itself with turnovers and bad penalties. All three of Ohio's scoring drives had penalties that extended drives. All Big 12 honoree Jaheim White is out for the season and significantly hurts the running game. If WVU wins, 17-14 is Nick's prediction.

We made it! Football is here! Week 0 may only be a small sample size, but if you ask Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey, they don't care because we finally get to watch games. Even with Week 0 being only a few games, we are already getting a Top 25 matchup in Ireland. "Farmageddon" goes to Europe for this Big 12 rivalry as 22nd ranked Iowa State takes on 17th ranked Kansas State. Andy, Ross and Steven talk about the keys to this game and the impact this may have on a wide open Big 12. Plus, they dive into what to expect out of the Big 12 conference and how we could see Week 0 evolve into a much larger slate of games in the future. Could Week 0 become the new Week 1?Later in the show, Ross goes in-depth on his conversation with West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez. He chronicles the journey of the former West Virginia hero turned pariah being welcomed home! The guys discuss Rich Rod's stops along the way and how it always felt like West Virginia was where he wanted to get back to. The two-time Big East Coach of the Year led the Mountaineers to four Big East titles, but the football landscape is much different this time around. What are the expectations from the Mountaineer faithful? What is considered success and what are the realistic expectations in this new age of college football? Finally, bold season predictions must be made before games are played, otherwise the predictions become far less bold. That is exactly what the guys do to wrap up the show as the guys predict an underdog SEC team who may surprise some people, a guess at who will make the CFP and a prediction of who will win it all!The final College Football Enquirer before the season kicks off. The second run for Rich Rodriguez as head coach of the WVU football program begins on August 30, 2025. How many games will Rich Rod win in his first season back? From the season opener against Robert Morris, to the Backyard Brawl, to nine games of Big 12 play; the 2025 college football season is full of exciting games for the West Virginia Mountaineers. With so much parity in the Big 12 Conference, and with so many question marks for WVU, it's even harder to know what to expect for this upcoming season. How good will Pitt be this year? Can Arizona State be even better than they were in 2024? Does losing Travis Hunter make Colorado more beatable? Can Utah turn things around this year?
