Lotty brings us a challenge, when I know God's plan, I can know God's plan for me. In this message he shows from scripture how God's plan is that we his people bring an experience of heaven to earth, we are to be salt and light. This week V looks at Nehemiah chapter 8. The people have left homes, friends, family to return to Jerusalem. They have re-built the temple, re-built the wall… but why… who is it all for? V explains the different names for God in old testament scripture, how they reveal part of God's character. She asks each of us to consider what is our big why? The core belief that drives our actions?

Julie begins this week by reminding us the theme of the last few weeks is asking God "Is there something you want us to do and how do we get ready for it?". Julie looks at Nehemiah 6:1-9 and reflects that he had the right foundation to sustain him through the challenges he faced. If your wondering if you have the right foundations then ask yourself the following questions: * Do you have the fear of the Lord? (A correct response to who God is) * Are you going it alone? This message comes with the reassurance that we can draw confidence in knowing who our heavenly father is. Ask God to open your eyes to see those who can help. Try not to get overwhelmed by circumstances, trust in the Lord.

As we begin our new series, Re-Construction, Joren takes us into the opening chapter of Nehemiah and challenges us to reconsider what true greatness looks like. When faced with the brokenness of the world, it's easy to drift toward either strategy, trying to fix everything ourselves, or apathy, believing nothing can change. Yet Nehemiah shows us a different response. Before making a plan, he turns to God in prayer. Through Nehemiah's example, we discover that rebuilding starts with aligning our hearts to God's heart, allowing what breaks His heart to move us, and being willing to be used by Him wherever we are. Forget traditional ideas of meditation. Joren explains the significance of reading the Bible and how meditating on scripture results in the core goal of the Bible, which is: formation not information. Other forms of meditation are aiming to dismiss the mind and achieve nothingness, biblical Mediation is different because we are engaging our mind, considering how we change our physical and mental habits with the goal of getting the word from the head to the heart. This week we hear from the lovely Laura Berry, as she shares unpacks the story of John the Baptist and his unique ministry that prepared people's hearts and the one who Jesus called the greatest born of women.
