Here's what I've come to believe: there's a way to wait well, and a way to wait poorly. Most of us never realized waiting was something you could be good or bad at. But how you wait may be the single biggest factor in whether you ever get to the other side. In this episode: what waiting well actually looks like, and why it has nothing to do with how far away you are or how long it's going to take. The difference between knowing you have agency and feeling it. Why "there are no good options" is almost never true — it's a poverty of options, and the cure is creativity. Waiting is a skill.

In Luke 2:21–40, we see what happens after the manger. Mary and Joseph faithfully obey God's law, Simeon celebrates the fulfillment of God's promises, and Anna responds to years of heartache with worship and hope. Do long waiting seasons leave you feeling anxious, disoriented and discouraged, particularly when they involve something for which you deeply long? Obviously, we can't "hurry" God along or "force His hand," but we can learn to wait in a way that strengthens our faith, deepens our relational intimacy with Christ, and prepares us for the very good plans He's forged uniquely for each of us. In this episode, Dove Award nominee, singer/songwriter Jamie Jangochian shares how God used her long battle with Lyme disease to bring about growth and reveal the new dreams He had for her.
