We chat about inflation, the economics of opting out of the food, fuel, and electricity systems, and our new book ONE YEAR OF FOOD.  How much food will it take to feed your MAG or large family for one year?   What meals can you make from that food?  Will you start to run out of the "good stuff" by month 6 or 8?   Do you know how to grow the majority of calories or $$$ you consume yourself? --------------------------------------------------- How much food do you have in your pantry today? If you ask a friend how long her food storage would last her family, you'll likely get a standard, vague response. "Oh, I think we've got about 4 months' worth. I could stretch it to 6 if I had to." Ha! Let's be real. She has no idea how many meals she can cook from her pantry. When is the "stretching" going to start? When does the rationing start? On day one? Today? -------------------------------------------------------------- Most people have no clue how many meals they can cook with their food storage, and have never calculated precisely how much they can serve at each meal to stretch their food storage for a full 12 months. Well, friend, do I have a gift for you! Our family has lived off the grid for over 16 years. We've lived in 4 different off grid homes, an RV, and a boat. We've lived on two different isolated islands where getting supplies was simply not an option for half the year. So, I've had to do the math to figure out how to keep my family fed until the spring garden started producing. When you're living on a sailboat, skipping the cold hard math and running out of food is simply not an option. Running out of food when you're feeding a large group is also not an option. With this book in hand, you will be equipped to feed your large family or group wholesome, easy to store, whole food meals. The meals are mostly from scratch, and if you're feeling extra ambitious you can grow the majority of the ingredients yourself.
