Stop having to justify your decisions while watching someone's reaction to your thoughts and opinions, holding your breath and hoping for their approval. I know -- easier said than done. Let's talk about it. This episode was first published in March of 2019, but it is of timeless relevance, and I wanted to bring it back today for anybody who may want to hear it again. I know I needed to hear this again today, and I wanted to share the love.
I take collagen peptides every morning, and people are catching onto the collagen craze. While there are a lot of silly nutrition crazes that I find unnecessary, this is one that I excitedly hopped onto after some thorough research and will never go back. Let me pass some of my research on to you. Study on collagen and skin elasticity by the University of Kiel: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24401291/
High performers work regularly to strengthen their willpower. But how? When we fail to fulfill a plan or goal of ours, we might blame our circumstances, our partner, our health -- but usually, the correct answer is that we failed because our willpower was not strong enough and we didn't want it enough to push through and succeed. So, what now? Do we give up on these plans and dreams of ours? Do we resort to living with this unhelpful habit that we wanted so badly to quit because we clearly don't have the willpower? No. There is more you can do, if you are willing to dedicate yourself to strengthening your willpower. It is possible, and high-performing people do this on a regular basis. Let me teach you all about it.

Let me tell you a story about a goal I miserably failed at within the first month. I'm happy to be a model of failure for you, because there is not a human in the world who doesn't fail at accomplishing their goals (also, I challenge you to look at failure differently. I've had many episodes on failure in the past). Why do we struggle to accomplish most of our goals? What do we do about it? Let's talk about it.
WHY does that pesky scale go up as the day goes on for no apparent reason? There are many reasons why, and a few things you can do about it. Though I prefer that we don't watch the scale like a hawk, it is useful to know why your weight fluctuates so much for seemingly no reason at all. Let's talk about it.
Stop trying to force yourself to love someone you hate. There's a reason that doesn't work. Let's pull apart what hate is, why we feel hate, and how we resolve it -- really, truly, genuinely resolve it, at the deepest levels -- so that we can move forward.
This is the conversation I wish someone had with me in high school. It's also a conversation I'm hoping to have with my children when they are old enough to understand. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Another promise to make you look and feel younger. Actually, I'm not selling you an anti-aging product or trying to get you to buy some program. I just want to teach you how you can use your body's own mechanisms to slow down the effects of aging. And yes, when properly applied, the effects of these daily and weekly habits can be dramatic and life-changing. I not only want to tell you what you can do to reverse and slow down the effects of aging, but I want to teach you WHY they work. I want you to be empowered with the proper knowledge to care for yourself for the rest of your amazing life. As always, if you have any health concerns, please consult your medical doctor. Here's the deal. Having more discipline doesn't have to be a complicated hurdle. It doesn't have to be a big deal and it doesn't have to make you hate your life. You -- yes, even you, who has all of these big dreams but feels that the discipline required to reach those dreams is way too hard to master -- can become a more disciplined person as soon as tomorrow. Take away the gimmicks, the cultural norms of what we think discipline means, and the preconceived ideas you have about yourself and your ability to be disciplined. Let's talk about it. I'm CALLING OUT the so-called "body positivity" movement, which started with great intentions and has beautiful roots, but has become a breeding ground for toxic ideals that are extremely unhealthy. This culture of body positivity has moved in a direction where people are now encouraged to embrace excess fat on their bodies and, if they desire to lose excess fat, they are shamed. As a personal trainer, I'm concerned. Let's have this tough conversation. I know I'm opening up myself to some ridicule in this episode, but I'm more concerned about my beautiful listeners' long-term health and happiness than I am concerned about earning brownie points for my personal ego. Infertility Stories of Hope and Conception - Part 1 by Chelsi Goulart
Life is hard enough as it is. The victim mentality makes it even harder. We all make ourselves victims of others' actions in one way or another. How does this REALLY affect us? How has this shaped our world? What if we chose a different mindset instead? Let's talk about it.
This world is a little (or a lot) crazy right now. There are so many big, divisive, life-changing and even life-threatening things happening in our communities. What does this mean for you? What do you do when it feels like the whole world is on fire? I don't claim to be perfect and I don't claim to handle conflict like a model citizen, but I do know a thing or two about staring extreme conflict dead in the eyes and learning who I really am. I'd simply like to share what I've learned with you and hope that it can bring some encouragement and strength to your day. I addressed everyone in this episode, regardless of your race, views, political affiliation, organizational affiliation, and gender, and I kept my views out of it because this episode is about YOU, not me. You've got this. I believe in you. Let's do this.
I want you to listen as if I am your private life coach in today's episode. I don’t want to talk specifically about COVID-19 -- I want to talk more about the psychology of quarantining and what we can do to keep ourselves not only sane, but uplifted during this trying time. Here are 5 things you can do (and I strongly suggest you do) every day while quarantining to help keep some reasonable structure in your day without adding unnecessary stress. Even if you are not quarantined and are still going to work outside the home every day, you can implement each of these things to help keep you grounded.

Let's talk about what to do when you're rejected by your partner. It's an awful feeling. The one person you are most vulnerable with, who knows you better than anyone else, rejects you. Maybe it's a small rejection that has persisted over time and is starting to feel heavy. Maybe it's a big rejection that is affecting your confidence in yourself and in your relationship. I've had this conversation with my clients frequently: Is organic produce actually better for us, or is it just a marketing strategy for the food industry? Well, it's not that simple. Which is unfortunate, because that makes it hard for the consumer to make proper decisions to take good care of their own body. In today's episode, I'm going to help you understand what organic food actually is, what the FDA's requirements are for organic food in America, and whether or not organic food vs. conventionally grown food actually makes a difference in your health. We're going to dive into the ins and outs of the organic food industry -- a quick review of the history of organic food, what pesticides and GMO's really do to your body, their benefits in society, and our medical concerns about both organic and conventionally grown produce. As usual, I try to give you both sides, plus my own opinion so that you can make a more educated decision for yourself. Thanks for being here, fam! Why do we decide to pursue paths that we are not passionate about? Why do people chase money instead of fulfillment? Why do we have midlife crises? Why are so many adults today so unhappy -- many not even realizing what they are missing out on? This is something that I almost fell into myself, and it terrifies me how close I came. In fact, this is one reason why I started the Unlimited podcast in the first place. Overcoming the push of society and following my personal pull was a big step in my life. It brought me closer to God, my spouse, and myself, and it made my life way. More. Fun. I want to drop a lot of truth bombs about what I learned, and I want to pass this onto you. I hope it helps, but be prepared for some hard truths. The good news: You can follow the pull any time, no matter how old you are or how deep you are in the push. P.S. I hope you feel in this episode how much I truly love and care about you, and how much I want you to love your own life. Thanks for being here, my friend. StrongHer is now Unlimited! But one thing isn't changing: I'm here to help you become a stronger, more fulfilled, more purposeful version of yourself. Let's start with talking about GUILT. What does it do to your brain? Your body? How often on average do people feel guilty each week? What do we do with this emotion when we feel it? Mom guilt, guilt for saying "no", guilt when you were a jerk to someone you love, guilt for missing a week at the gym, guilt for being dishonest or destructive... This podcast will address all of it. One of the most common questions I'm used is, "What diet should I eat, low carb or low fat?" Or is there a different question you should be asking? Let's talk about it.
As a life and health coach, one of the most common problems I help my clients solve is their use of time. I want you to grab all of the crap that you've read about time management on blogs and dump everything that isn't helpful to you. It sounds like a gimmick or click-bait, but I promise this is legit. In fact, this is how I've achieved every change I set out to make for the New Year. It's nothing super special -- in fact, it's something you can do right now. Yes, right away, you can make a real change in your life. Let's give it a shot.
I’ve been exhausted lately -- the kind of exhausted when, it doesn’t matter how much sleep you get, you’re just done and you have no motivation. A lot of people experience this and don't understand why they are so exhausted. Today, let's talk about 5 very common, yet not very obvious mental energy drainers.
“Failure” is a big, heavy word — and it’s heavy because of the emotional weight we all place inside it. We’re afraid to quit things that are generally accepted as good for us, such as a job or a goal, because of the shame and guilt of feeling like we failed. But this fear often holds us back from understanding when it’s actually time to quit and when we should stick it out. The principles I teach you about in today’s podcast apply to every decision you make, from how you butter your bread to deciding your career path. If you apply what I teach you, making decisions will be easier and followed by less guilt and regret. Let’s talk about it.
Today, I’m going to talk about things that I highly recommend you start saying “no” to — starting today. The word “no” is a very important word in your vocabulary, and unfortunately, it’s also sometimes one of the hardest words to say. It’s so simple. Just a one-syllable, two-letter word. But it’s one of the most important words for your mental sanity. Ready? Let's talk about it. I'm sure you want one more person in the world to tell you what's wrong with you. Maybe not. Well, here it is anyway. I bet I can guess your biggest problem. It ranges from petty passive-aggressiveness to blatantly insulting. We all encounter rude people, and sometimes, even our favorite people are rude to us, too. We can't avoid rudeness unless we hide under a rock for the rest of our lives. So, now what? How do we best handle a situation when someone is rude to us? How do we handle it differently if it is a stranger vs. a family member? I don't claim to have all the answers, but I do know how to help you answer this for yourself, because it's so greatly depends on the situation and the relationship. Let's get into it. In today's podcast, I'm going to teach you 4 phases of a personal behavior cycle and how to recognize and change a behavior cycle that does not serve you. So, your personal behavior cycle. What is that? It sounds pretty self-explanatory. But I want to dive really deep here, because in my coaching experience, and when I worked at the women’s shelter, and when I worked at a brain health clinic, and as a personal trainer, I saw basically every personal challenge that stumped my clients come down to this concept. So many psychologists study this very subject because it’s a foundation to self-improvement and quality-of-life improvement. Your personal behavior cycles apply to your eating habits, how you handle confrontation with strangers or with your spouse, your exercise habits or lack thereof, how productive or unproductive you are at work or around the house, your boundaries with those around you or how you handle relationships in general, etc. You name it, this applies.
