Rob is best-known as the bass player for David Gray. His bass playing career began with the formation LiR in the late 80's. He's also co-produced the last three David Gray albums; two of which have been in the Billboard Top 10 album charts in the US. Over the course of his career, Robbie has played on many world tours with David Gray, and has performed in well-known venues including Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. A dear friend of Shane Maloney’s and Dan Brady’s – Jonathan Kelly committed suicide on the 31st of March 2013. In honour of his memory several artists (including the lads) have got together to preform on a collective album featuring 30 acts including Mundy, Phil Coulter and The Frames. Shane and Dan came into studio to talk to John Bowe on Radio Nova’s Locals Only about their memories of Jonathan -who was a chef who loved fishing and festivals. The album launch – Songs for Jay Kay – on March the 28th is on in the Grand Social, Dublin. The band The Conns got together in 2011 and originate from Offaly. They are currently working on material for an up and coming début album. Gigging regularly around Ireland your sure to find these guys rocking fibbers in true ‘Rock ‘N' Roll' style. Hvmmingbyrd are a unique new sound to hit the airwaves, a five piece all female group with – Deborah Byrne: vocals, guitar – Becca Carroll: vocals, keys – Dolores Fogarty: flute, melodica, vocals – Helen Lane: drums, percussion – Catriona Mitchel: bass, double bass, vocals. Elevation Falls aim is to echo the great Rock/Pop bands of the past, with a modern edge. They were originally put together on behalf of the singer/songwriter Hazel Jade, who had already garnered industry attention since the age of 13. Whilst she grew as an artist, her want was for a new rock band which members formally became Elevation Falls. The band formed in September 2012. Now over two years on, their sound has matured greatly, with the support of members. In January 2013 they performed as part of ‘The Vibe' at the Button Factory in Dublin (capacity 750) to great acclaim. This four piece Irish band Acrobat are from Dublin, formed in 2013 by Mark Healy (singer/guitarist) and bass player Naoise Morzadec, they went looking for a drummer to join them and found Dutch-Indonesian Jacob Koopman busking on Grafton Street before completing the line up with Heritage centre front man Conal McIntyre.
