Doch Simone liess nicht locker und dank ihrem eigenen Einsatz für weitere Untersuchungen wurde schliesslich die Diagnose gestellt. Vi var onekligen påverkade av att få läsa Simone de Beauvoir. Som att vara i närheten av sann storhet på ett lite nytt sätt och så spännande att ta del av en ung flickas upplevelse av det högborgerliga Paris och sätta det i kontrast till Moas skildring av Mias uppväxt i Fattigsverige. Det som kanske drabbade oss mest var religionens framträdande roll i denna kontext, och de ofantliga sociala krav som unga flickor levde betungade av, så till den grad att huvudkaraktären – Simones väninna och kärlek (?) – nära på stympade sig själv fysiskt. Självskadebeteende med yxa är inget man förväntar sig som sommarlovsminne från en tjusigt gods på den franska landsbygden. Vi vill definitivt läsa mer av Simone, så mycket är klart!

Simone gör allt hon kan för att försöka läka och hitta tillbaka till sig själv.Om fem år kan ex-pojkvännen komma ut ur fängelset. Och Simone är livrädd för att han ska hitta henne.Vi har bytt ut huvudpersonens namn. Simone Helle ist Sängerin und Klangkünstlerin, komponiert und schreibt ihre Texte selbst.
