Description: Lori Mihalich-Levin, JD, is the perfect example of a badass woman who thinks for herself, challenges the patriarchy, and empowers those around her as well. Lori is the founder of Mindful Return, author of Back to Work After Baby, and creator of the Mindful Return Maternity Leave E-Course. She also is a partner at Dentons US LLP. She joins the show to explain just how she earned her nickname of a “working mama guru,” and gives her expert advice for working parents to stay sane and successful during this extra challenging time of the pandemic.  What You Will Hear in This Episode:   Lori’s channeled her own outrage about the injustice in her own home to make a change and work for others who are suffering.  At Mindful Return, she has helped over 1,000 parents feel confident and connected.  Lori also works heavily with employers on how they can best work with new parents. Oftentimes employers will lessen the workload or take away projects just based on assumptions.  Parenthood doesn’t take away any skills, in fact, it holds very similar skills that make for amazing leaders.  If you are parenting with a partner, getting intentional about your time and responsibilities can be an absolute game-changer.  Quotes:  “The skills working parents are gaining through parenthood, are actually the things that are going to make them amazing leaders.” - Lori  “Life is full, and I don’t wear busy as a badge.” - Lori  Mentioned:  Mindful Return  The Parents at Work Podcast  The Abundant Mama  Back to Work After Baby

Today's episode of Mum-to-Mum Monday is all about putting the sparkle back into your marriage. When you first met your partner, life was so much fun. So carefree. So spontaneous. You could jump in the car and catch a movie at a moment's notice. You could go out for dinner on a whim. You could stay up late, drink too much wine and not have to worry about getting up early in the morning. You love your husband, but since your kids arrived and life got busy, your marriage isn't as much fun as it used to be. That's why I invited SuperMum Shawn Fink onto my show. Shawn is mum to 10 year old twin girls, a family wellness coach for mothers around the world, the author of ‘The Playful Family' and ‘The Abundant Mama's guide to Savoring Slow' and the founder of The Abundant Mother Project which inspires mothers to find their happy place so they can raise happy, thriving children in a peaceful home environment. From her own personal experinece, Shawn realises how hard it is to maintain a marriage while raising kids and keeping a home running day after day. You can feel isolated and alone because between all the to-dos and deadlines and the children's needs and phases there really isn't much time left at the end of each day for anything, let alone your relationship. But Shawn teaches us that with a change in our mindset, a shift in our interpersonal habits and by looking at our communication we can gain a deeper understanding of each other and have a marriage that thrives. A happy marriage filled with joy, fun, connection and teamwork. You can find the full write up from this episode including the Show Notes at www.Lisa-York.com/009 Go Conquer Motherhood!
