What if we all lived life with a little more presence? With more gratitude and appreciation for the everyday things? Today’s guest Addie Martanovic shares how her life of transitions has granted her a new perspective on life that we all could use more of. Addie and I begin by discussing the everyday turmoils of sparking creativity, content creation, social media, and living on the cold and grey east coast. The conversation expands however as Addie takes us back in time to her start with instagram and blogging as a young adult in the big city of Chicago. After an unhealthy obsession with health got Addie started in this space, it was the loss of her mom to cancer and the start of a new job at Simple Mills that got her life moving in a new direction. She shares how she lived with the grief and what it was like to grow through it with her family as well. In this we both share insight into how one can support another as they experience grief + the effects of it on one’s life perspective. Addie explains her decision to leave Simple Mills and transition from food to lifestyle as she took her blog and account, @chickpeainthecity, full time in January 2019. And as real talk goes, Addie gets very real about the struggles of blogging full time and the pressure that comes with constantly creating content for instagram. This conversation as a whole is perfect for anyone facing transitions in life, moving through grief, experiencing job issues, or just looking to find some appreciation for the everyday things. Spotting the beauty in everyday life and catching the little moments is a specialty of Addie’s that we also discuss in length throughout this conversation.  To connect with Addie find her on instagram @chickpeainthecity or her blog: https://chickpeainthecity.org/ Connect with me on instagram @emilyfeikls and @letsthrivepodcast ** To try Nuzest protein powder for yourself, go to https://nuzest-usa.com/ and use code ‘thriveonlife’ for 15% off your order of $50 or more
