Their motto: Affability over Authenticity. Let's see how this pans out for him.

Episode 93 - A Good Bedside Manner Goes a Long Way My wife, Barbara, wasn’t feeling well one day earlier this winter. After talking to her doctor’s office on the phone, we decided to go to a local on-demand healthcare facility, CareWell Urgent Care in Marlborough, where she could get the quickest treatment possible. We didn’t have to wait more than a few minutes before she was seen by two different nurses and thoroughly checked out. Not only did she receive exceptional care at this facility, the medical team’s bedside manner was ridiculously awesome. They spent a lot of time examining her as well as just plain comforting her. They weren’t just extremely professional, they were incredibly personable as well. BIG thanks to Kristen and Virginia, the two nurses who took care of Barbara during our visit. You. Me. We can all learn a lot from this dynamic healthcare duo. Being good at what you do is one thing, being nice is another. Both are equally important. Affability matters as much as ability. Every business and brand should care for its customers as well as this place cared for Barbara. A good bedside manner goes such a long way, whether you’re in the healthcare field or not. Be nice. Be kind. Be good to those around you in both your professional and personal lives.
There’s justice and prudence and temperance and fortitude, faith, and hope, and love. But do you recall the social virtues at all? Thankfulness and affability are some social virtues that show us how Catholics should connect with others in social situations. Thankfulness is the social virtue by which we acknowledge people and their generosity. It’s not just a customary expression of thanks when someone does something nice. It means going out of your way to show people your gratitude for them going out of their way for you. Affability is another word for approachability. It means you’re free to talk and free to help. You don’t mind people knocking on your door to tell you something. It is another social virtue that makes us put others before ourselves. Being introverted is not an excuse to avoid these virtues. An introverted person can most certainly have a heart focused on other people, and that is what’s at the heart of the social virtues. You may think these virtues aren’t as important as the others since they are not so explicitly mentioned in Scripture. In fact they are. Remember the parable of the lepers in Luke 17:11-19. Jesus heals ten lepers, and only one returns to thank him. Jesus asks, “Where are the other nine?” Likewise, Jesus regularly healed those who approached him out of the blue, showing affability. Jesus showed the social virtues, and so should we.
Whats so nice about being "nice"? A conversation about Affability and Flattery.

Years ago, while watching our kids play baseball, I learned about the three A's from a neighbor of mine. He said these were the standards he held himself up to on the job as a pediatrician. The three A's – ability, affability and availability. I said, “You know, the three A's would apply well to social media." Ability – you have to know what you're doing on the job. Affability – you have to be friendly, courteous and kind. You have to get along well with people. Availability – you have to be online practically all the time. So, do you have the three A's of social media?
One of the best things that can happen to your band – original or cover – is to gain devoted fans. They're there at every gig, they are your best form of word-of-mouth promotion, and they make you feel like the rock star you are. But there's a downside to them, sometimes right at the start. Sometimes that manifests itself before you've ever met... and they become KLINGONS! Listen to Paul and Dave talk through all of this, and how they deal with it. Press play, sit back, and enjoy! It's not every day you get challenged to a Xiaolin Showdown by your own brother! Ben and Zane were both reaching for the Microphone of Perfect Podcasting and grabbed it at the exact same moment. The world instantly noticed how dramatic it was, and the Cartoncasters found themselves in the middle of a thematically appropriate arena that done got jacked up on environment steroids. Ben wagered his 'Villain of Affability' while Zane offered up the 'Demographic Dissection of Wytegai'. Who won the showdown? We all did; this show is actually great.
