Matt Nein is currently the Assistant Director of Athletics & Campus Rec/Head Sports Performance Coach & Manager of Fitness & Facilities at Salisbury University, in Salisbury, Maryland, and has been since 2004. Before that, Matt was the Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2018, Matt was named the National Strength & Conditioning Association College Strength Coach of the Year, an award given annually to the top strength coach across NCAA DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA divisions. Matt also serves on the NSCA Advisory Board for the State of Delaware, is the Chair for the NSCA Lacrosse Special Interest Group (SIG), and serves on the NSCA Honor & Awards Committee. Matt Fleekop is a Strength & Conditioning Coach for Princeton University. Matt holds a BS in Exercise Science and a Masters Degree in Applied Health Physiology. He has interned at Purdue University and EXOS and earned his masters degree while a GA at Salisbury University. Matt provides great insight into what goes into training multiple sports during the academic calendar. In addition, he helps to touch on how his athletes have been effected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. During his tenure as Coordinator, Matt has had the opportunity to work with 12 National Championship teams, 8 individual National Championship athletes, and over 300 All-Americans. Michael (Mike) C. Zourdos, Ph.D, CSCS: Mike is an Assistant Professor in Exercise Science at Florida Atlantic University with a specialization in strength and conditioning and skeletal muscle physiology. He earned his Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from The Florida State University (FSU) in 2012 under the guidance of Dr. Jeong-Su Kim. Prior to attending FSU Mike received his B.S. degree in Exercise Science from Marietta College and M.S. in Applied Health Physiology from Salisbury University. At Marietta Mike lettered in soccer for four seasons and captained the squad in his final two. While at Salisbury he also served as the graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach for all sports teams. Further, Mike served as the Head Powerlifting Coach of FSU’s 2011 and 2012 state championship teams and currently serves as FAU’s Head Coach in addition to being a faculty member. Mike’s research focuses on optimizing periodization and program design methods, along with improving training efficiency, and examining skeletal muscle adaptations and the inflammatory response to exercise.” This line of high performance research is currently ongoing in the FAU ‘Muscle Lab.’ His best powerlifting competition lifts include a 230.0kg (507lbs.) raw squat as an 83kg lifter.
