What began with a few DMs dunking on misleading “cover crop” Instagram posts—or maybe even earlier, on Napa Valley school bus rides more than 25 years ago—has grown into something much bigger: a groundbreaking tasting event focused on the future of responsible winegrowing. In this first-ever crossover episode of The Wine Makers Podcast and Bedrock Conversations, Katie Bundschu, Morgan Twain-Peterson MW, and Sam Coturri join Chris Cotrell, Alli Badar, Brian Casey, and Bart Hansen to introduce S.O.R.B.E.T.—the Sonoma Organic Regenerative Biodynamic Education Tasting. This inaugural event celebrates Sonoma Valley's critical role in sustainable and ecological winegrowing—past, present, and future. The only two rules for participation: 1) Wines must be farmed organically, regeneratively, or biodynamically. 2) Wines must come from Sonoma Valley. The result? A dynamic mix of wineries—from garagistes to corporate producers, from emerging natural wine stars to established legacy brands—offering everything from edgy small-batch bottles to ultra-premium pours. The crew shares the origin of the event, what it means for the region, and why this kind of collective action is more important than ever. [EP 367] Save the Date: August 17th at Fort Mason, San Francisco. Get tickets here: Eventbrite – S.O.R.B.E.T. Follow along: @s.o.r.b.e.tasting @bedrockwines @abbotspassage @sixteen600 Winemakers interested in participating: Reach out for an application—we'd love to have you join.

Bart Hansen joins The Redeemed Man podcast. Bart Hansen is a founding board member of the men's ministry Wild at Heart. In teaching men how to reclaim masculinity from emasculation, false machismo, and “poserism,” Hansen says one of the best things they can do is examine the life of Jesus Himself—a man who was fierce and unapologetic in his opposition to selfishness and hypocrisy, but who was motivated by compassion and a sincere love for His fellow man. “G.K. Chesterton said that the fierceness of a warrior is determined not by the enemy in front of him that he hates, but by what he loves that he is fighting for,” Hansen explains. “And that really does describe the heart of Jesus. The greatest motive we can live for is love, and that's what Jesus did.”Visit The Redeemed's website for discussion question sets, show notes, inspirational articles, and more resources. The Redeemed is an organization giving men from all backgrounds a supportive, judgment-free environment, grounded in Christian love without demanding participation in any faith tradition, where they can open up about their challenges, worries, and failures—and celebrate their triumphs over those struggles.

In this very special episode of the Business Over Beer podcast, originally broadcast LIVE on facebook on October 22, The Gangsta of Hazel Dell brings a couple members of his posse, Bart Hansen, Vancouver, WA City Councilman and James Oneill, Business Development & Outreach Representative with Columbia Credit Union, to discuss local politics and the state of local business. During one of the most crucial elections of our time, with record high voter turnouts driven largely by the Presidential Election, there is unprecedented polarization and tribalism created by our national political identities. Now is the time for a renewed focus on local politics, getting involved in our local community and the issues that impact our everyday lives. In this Episode: Don't be intimidated by those working in government, they are here to help put citizens in touch with the resources they need. Don't be afraid to reach out. Local government impacts your everyday life far more than national government. The council needs to communicate better with the citizens; they can't rely solely on people coming to the council meetings as the means of communicating with the public, so council needs to be out in the community more. Homelessness and Affordable housing are two of the top issues facing Vancouver according to the 2020 survey. There is high satisfaction with public safety in the city. Communication needs to improve between the city and it's citizens, which means not only asking the right questions, but also, actually listening to what folks have to say and formulating committees that have the best representation for the different neighborhood groups. Tribalism has taken over our national politics and national mindset, but when you look your local small communities, there are so many great and positive things happening, people are supporting each other inside the community. In this fifth installment of the AndSons Summer Series, Bart Hansen serves up his favorite past episode - #86 with Wookie Jones telling stories about adventure, passion, and risk. Besides having a really cool name, Wookie owns a coffee shop, collects cool motorcycles, is wildly creative, and gets paid to do what he loves by freelancing. By nature, risk is, well, risky—but you can't expect to gain a return on no risk. Wookie doesn't pretend to have all the answers, but he has discovered that a life of less regret requires more risk.
As we continue exploring how God invites us into a life of adventure and risk, we’ve been drawing from the wisdom of Bart Hansen, an amazing man of God and a mentor, who talks about adventure in three different categories. Casual Adventure, Crucial Adventure and Epic Adventure. These three categories have been really helpful for us to explore how adventure relates to our hearts, how it can help us develop a more intimate relationship with God and how it can train us to live by faith - to trust God as he leads us into unknown territories. Today we want to explore the first of these categories, Casual Adventure, and the role that it plays in our hearts.
“If your life with God doesn’t have a regular dose of adventure,” Padre says, “It’s not going to sustain the masculine soul.” That’s all well and good, but what if you live in the city? What if you have young kids? What if any one of a hundred what-ifs make adventure difficult? To answer that question, we snagged Bart Hansen, of the Ransomed Heart team. Bart has built rockets, parasails, and airplanes, flown all over the west, and done some of the craziest things we’ve ever heard. But it turns out none of those things define his life of adventure. Nope. Instead, Bart uses three categories to explore adventure as it relates to the life of the heart: Casual, Crucial and Epic Adventure. Casual adventures are everyday outings. Crucial adventures involve the maturation of the soul. Epic adventures hinge upon the risk of love. It turns out we need all three. From swim training in a snow storm to pursuing irritating neighbors to loving the woman in your life, this is an episode everyone needs.

Ever heard that the same convictions that help you handle scarcity also help you handle plenty? Turns out it’s true. In this episode, we sat down with two men on our team, Bart Hansen and Jon Dale (who have at times led companies and at other times lacked two nickels to rub together) to ask a simple question: what do you wish you had known about money as a young man? From living simply to taking risks to choosing when not to lead, this conversation is full of gems for every man.
Bart Hansen reveals the unique ways God invites men into a life of adventure.

An old, wise man, Jeremiah, suggested this: Go stand at the crossroads and look around. Ask for directions to the old road, The tried-and-true road. Then take it. Discover the right route for your souls. (Jeremiah 6) There are few things in which I find more life than asking older men the hard and holy questions...
