The Lac du Flambeau Tribal Council voted to keep roads open that are at the heart of a longstanding dispute with the town. The Wisconsin-based Penzeys spice company has been mailing out tens of thousands of free spices to residents of Washington, D.C. And, a 157-year-old brewery is set to close this week, that's despite efforts from Leinenkugel family to save it.
Hello, car wash! Mid 30's today…into the 40's tomorrow. Then a complete nose-dive back into the teens. Gotta get the truck to ShipShape today or tomorrow and get all that salt off it. Yuck. And if you're looking for a new job, Planters is looking to hire someone to drive the PeanutMobile. Coors Light is looking to give away a "Case of the Mondays" for the day after the Super Bowl, and Walgreens might be changing it's policy of locking certain items up. In today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a nose ring caught on an office chair, a school that went into lockdown because of a squirrel, a woman who got some free weed at a Burger King, a VERY drunk babysitter, and a guy who really doesn't like high beams. The news story is like a scene out of “Tommy Boy,” where Ray Zalinsky was going to shut down Big Tom Callahan's factory in Sandusky and slap his trusted name on Zalinsky's brake pads. But this time, it's Chippewa Falls and Molson Coors wanting to keep the Leinenkugel name—even as the family tries to buy back the brewery before it can be shut down. Also: Sen. Ron Johnson doesn't miss an opportunity to play politics with a natural disaster. And Sen. Tammy Baldwin secures a win for women, ensuring a national monument to the Suffragettes will be built on the National Mall.
