March 01, 2024 Daily Devotion: "Delight Yourself in the Lord" Psalms 37:3-4 The Passion Translation Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes. Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on his faithfulness. Find your delight and true pleasure in YAHWEH, and he will give you what you desire the most. How often do we stop to celebrate when we see evidence of God working in our lives? When a prayer is answered or when God performs a miracle in our lives, we often continue without celebrating. It can be easy to forget the wonders God has done for us when we don't take the time to stop, thank Him, and rejoice in His goodness. This is not an unimportant matter, for we are commanded to “rejoice in the Lord” (Philippians 3:1) and to “delight yourself in the Lord” (Psalm 37:4). God wants us to find our highest joy in Him. How can we learn to rejoice more in God? It is hard to do when we fill our minds with other things, especially worldly entertainment—things we watch on TV or scroll through on our phones. We must fight against everything that diminishes our joy in God. We cannot delight ourselves in God when our minds are not engaged with Him. Neither can we rejoice in Him when we can't see how glorious and wonderful He is. But we can—and should—ask Him to reveal more of Himself to us when we read the Bible and meditate on His Words and promises. For “in [His] presence, there is fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:11). --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gerzon-etino/message

If you come to our home, you will see over our front door a scripted Bible verse. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” I love the tension and mystery of the two different ends of this passage. In my 20s, the desire of ... Psalm 37:4 tells us, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." This is not about you praising an external "god" and if you praise just enough and hit some magical delight meter, "god" will be pleased with you and give it to you. "Delight Yourself" in Hebrew means you are experiencing the luxuriousness and creating from Spirit, or feminine nature within yourself. This is celebrating the beautiful ability to create from within, the nature of God that will be forever and ever, I AM! When you experience your heart's desire, or delighting yourself, you are taking what you are imagining and bringing it into your life. The fact you have a desire is evidence it is already available just waiting for you to experience it. Experience your desire in your imagination with awe and joy. Tell yourself how wonderful this life is. There is nothing more for you to do but let it unfold in your life the best way for you. The Bible says, "Delight Yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart! (Psalm 37:4). The word delight can also be translated “to allure, to entice.” We can make ourselves attractive, even irresistible to God. There are at least 4 ways we do this: Humility, Hunger, Holiness and Honor are all characteritics that when fully embraced will result in the favor of the Lord overtaking our lives.
