In this week's message from our True Religion series, we turn to James 5:7–12—a passage that speaks directly to anyone who's weary, waiting, or walking through hardship. In “Just You Wait,” we're reminded that God's justice is certain and His purposes never fail. James calls us to a patient, steadfast faith: to trust God's timing, to endure with hope, and to remember that every trial has a purpose in His hands. Let's lean in together as we learn what it means to wait well and stand firm. What do LEGO, Megan Thee Stallion, and a Ford Mustang have in common? They're all proof that the right partnership can supercharge a brand. In the sixth episode of The Brand Builder's Playbook, hosts Jim Stengel and Ryan Barker, joined by guest co-host Lindsey Wehking, explore why not all partnerships deliver equal value…some enhance brand equity, while others can dilute it.This week's guest is Kristen D'Arcy, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Digital Growth at True Religion, who unpacks how collaborations and partnerships drive growth, cultural relevance, and long-term brand equity. From bold campaigns with Megan Thee Stallion to unexpected collabs with Ford, True Religion demonstrates how math, magic, and cultural insight come together to keep a brand not just alive, but thriving.Kristen shares the playbook behind building a culture of collaboration inside the marketing team, tapping into subcultures that matter, and designing partnerships that actually move the needle.Bottom line: when you know your customer and lean into culture, partnerships don't just create moments, they create momentum.—Download this week's worksheet: https://bit.ly/47oVdBaRead about upcoming episode topics and guests here: https://bera.ai/podcast/See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Pastor Ron Kool opens by noting the enormous religious diversity in the world—over 11,000 religions—yet almost everyone falls into seven major groups, with Christianity and Islam comprising more than half of the global population. Using worldwide and North American statistics, he highlights the rapid rise of the religiously “non-affiliated” and the decline of Christianity in the West, which increases our proximity to people of different faiths. From there, he introduces the idea of religious exclusivism—the belief that only one faith is ultimately true—and shows that Scripture supports this claim. He then explores why many people push back against exclusivism today, citing concerns about arrogance, cultural bias, and the fear that exclusive truth claims create conflict. The session ends by acknowledging these tensions and preparing to address how Christians can thoughtfully respond in the next part.Support the show

Sermons – Grace Evangelical Free Church // Wyoming, MN

Even in this fallen, mysterious, often painful world, by God's design and at God's hand, there is serious joy for us to experience throughout all life. Experiencing that joy looks a bit different when we're old than when we're young, but it's there for us all, all along. So rejoice in whatever good things God gives us, throughout whatever life God gives us.

CULTIVATING SAINTS, SAGES, AND STATESMEN THROUGH THE GREAT TRADITION OF CHRISTENDOMIn this episode, we dive into one of the writings of the great Church Father St. Augustine (354-430) to see how he describes the one true Church. This time, we explore his treatise "Of True Religion," written between 389 and 391, which not only describes the one true Church, but the heresies and schisms that break away from it, as well as the process of doctrinal development. Once more, just as his descriptions of heretics and schismatics remains true to this day, so does St. Augustine's description of the one true Church continue to match only one church 1,600 years later: the Catholic Church.VISIT OUR WEBSITEhttps://eternalchristendom.com/BECOME A PATRON OF THE GREAT TRADITIONWe are a non-profit, and all gifts are tax-deductible. Faith in Jesus leaves no room for favoritism. James challenges us to examine how we view and treat others—reminding us that showing partiality contradicts the very heart of the gospel. True faith looks beyond appearance, status, or influence and honors people the way God does. As you watch and listen, ask the Lord to align your heart with His kingdom priorities. Have you experienced the kind of spiritual rebirth that leads to real change? James 1:19–27 teaches that saving faith isn't passive—it's transformational. In this sermon, Pastor Josiah explores how the Word of God not only saves us but reshapes us. Through vivid illustrations and pastoral exhortation, you'll discover that “real religion” means more than just hearing Scripture—it means receiving it with humility, obeying it with integrity, and displaying it through a life of mercy, holiness, and self-control. The gospel doesn't just inform your life; it transforms it. Why does the life of a true Christian look so different from the world? Listen to this week's message and find out!

[30] And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ [31] The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” [32] And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. [33] And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” [34] And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions. Believing the Lies We Tell Ourselves (James 1:16-27) James 1 Era June 8, 2025 Essential Church SUMMARY The message revolves around themes of self-deception and the importance of application over mere knowledge. It uses the TV series "Breaking Bad" as a metaphor to explore these themes. The narrative highlights the protagonist's journey, where he justifies his morally questionable actions by claiming they are for his family, only to reveal later that he did it for himself. This serves as a cautionary tale about self-deception and rationalization. The message also delves into spiritual maturity, emphasizing that true growth comes from applying knowledge in one's life, not just acquiring it. It draws parallels between the protagonist's story and the teachings in the Book of James from the Bible, which stresses the importance of being doers of the word, not just hearers. The speaker encourages listeners to act on their convictions and not be content with merely understanding their shortcomings. Additionally, the message touches on the concept of God's unchanging nature, contrasting it with human tendencies to deceive themselves about their spiritual state. It calls for living in the light of truth and taking action rather than blaming circumstances or "bad lighting" for one's failures. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS 1. **Self-Deception and Rationalization**: - How does the concept of self-deception manifest in our daily lives, and what are some common rationalizations we use to justify our actions? - In what ways can we identify and overcome self-deception in our personal and professional lives? 2. **Application of Knowledge**: - Why is it important to apply knowledge rather than just acquire it? Can you think of examples where application led to significant personal growth? - How can we ensure that we are not just hearers of knowledge but doers as well? 3. **Spiritual Maturity**: - What does spiritual maturity mean to you, and how can it be achieved? - Discuss the role of motives in spiritual practices. How can we ensure our motives are pure? 4. **Freedom and Self-Mastery**: - How does self-mastery contribute to personal freedom, and what steps can we take to achieve it? - Discuss the balance between following guidelines and experiencing freedom. How do these concepts coexist? 5. **True Religion and Motives**: - What is the significance of helping those who cannot help you back, and how does this reflect true religious practice? - How can we examine and purify our motives in our actions and relationship

Spurgeon regularly throws a little exegetical advice into his sermons, often at the beginning, and he does so here, encouraging his hearers to interpret each portion of Scripture in its context, which he immediately applies to his text, in which Job claims that “the root of the matter is found in me.” Spurgeon first examines this root and defines it in terms of confidence in a living Redeemer. Next, he digs deeper into the matter of something which lies at the root—something which is essential, vital, comprehensive of all the rest. Thirdly, Spurgeon addresses the fact that we can personally discern our possession of this root, not always easily but carefully and comfortingly. Finally, he presses some practical lessons upon our souls, especially considering the way in which we can—in various ways and to various degrees—be guilty of persecuting someone in whom is the root of the matter. It is another example of the remarkable number of directions in which Spurgeon can turn the truth in a single sermon.
