For Paris Saint-Germain supporters, March 10, will either bring closure to one of https://lapelotita.com/2021/02/15/barcelona-vs-psg-from-cruyff-to-messi-the-story-of-a-feud/ (Europe's biggest football feuds) or, re-open a gaping wound that the club may never recover from. No pressure! On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by https://twitter.com/psgtourist (Matt), https://twitter.com/ofthedoor1 (Guillaume), and https://twitter.com/cosesinho (Cose) to discuss PSG's recent performances in Ligue 1, Neymar Jr.'s return from injury, the return leg against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, and so much more. Up first, it's all about the battle for Ligue 1. Currently, PSG sits two points behind Lille OSC in the table thanks to an https://en.as.com/en/2021/02/22/football/1613974057_346887.html (inexplicable loss to AS Monaco) following the 4-1 win over Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League tie. PSG was able to rebound against Dijon FCO and Girondins de Bordeaux, but how confident should fans be that PSG can defend their title? Next, we switch gears to talk Champions League and Neymar in particular. The PSG superstar is back in training but should the club risk further injury by https://psgtalk.com/2021/03/report-psg-remains-hopeful-that-neymar-will-play-against-barcelona-in-the-champions-league-return-fixture/ (rushing him)? Considering Barcelona's recent https://www.si.com/soccer/2021/03/03/barcelona-sevilla-comeback-copa-del-rey-video-pique-braithwaite-dembele (comeback against Sevilla FC in the Copa del Rey), PSG could use all the firepower they can get to see out this tie and advance to the next round. Our crew shares their predictions for the match as well as potential starting lineup options for Mauricio Pochettino to consider. We may get some insight into what the manager is thinking this Saturday when PSG takes on Stade Brestois 29 in the Coupe de France. We wrap up the show with some light-hearted conversation about https://www.instagram.com/p/CL5C92dsrCY/ (Juan Bernat's birthday cake), Everton FC supporters, and we share some of the TV shows and movies that are keeping us occupied between matches. With a host of injuries and https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/psg-sporting-director-leonardo-slams-tuchel-for-transfer-demands-/1qspz84gct0681cdu55vwixlph (turmoil between the manager and sporting director), Paris Saint-Germain faces perhaps its most pivotal stretch of games of the season so far. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by James, Cose, and Guillaume to discuss PSG's two most recent results and we also look ahead to PSG's upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Istanbul Başakşehir. The show begins with a conversation about PSG's frustrating 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the first match of the Champions League group stage. The squad looked tired and devoid of ideas offensively even with Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr. on the pitch together. We discuss whether the blame rests on Thomas Tuchel's shoulders and whether his days could be numbered as manager. PSG rebounded from that defeat to United with a 4-0 win over Dijon FCO—the last place team in Ligue 1. Tuchel was forced to rotate his squad due to injuries, which included starting Moise Kean who scored his first two goals in a PSG kit. The 20-year-old has loads of potential and this performance could lead to him taking minutes away from some of the usual starters. We then discuss Wednesday match against Istanbul Başakşehir where anything other than a win could lead to Tuchel getting sacked and the very real possibility that PSG may not qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League. We go around the panel and get score predictions for this highly-anticipated match. The show concludes with a discussion about a surprising statistic. According to journalist Robin Bairner, since the start of the Qatar Sports Investments era (2011-current), PSG has conceded 18 penalties in the Champions League and only been awarded 7. Is this a case of bad defending or is there a conspiracy against the French giants? As always, thank you for listening, and be sure to subscribe and rate the show wherever you download your podcasts. Paris Saint-Germain's match against Manchester United on Tuesday night was supposed to be a chance at redemption. The Red Devils eliminated PSG from the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and their return to the Parc des Princes was a chance for Les Parisiens to prove that result was a fluke. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. On this episode of The 1970, I'm joined as always by https://twitter.com/MarcDamon9 (Marc Damon) and we give our instant reaction to discuss PSG's frustrating 2-1 loss United and discuss who is to blame. https://twitter.com/PSGTalk/status/1318661750418407424 (According to my followers on Twitter), most PSG supporters believe manager, Thomas Tuchel is to blame for the loss to the Premier League side and Marc and I agree but for different reasons. Marc believes Tuchel's inability to create a system in which Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr. can thrive is a fireable offense. While I tend to agree with him, I think Leonardo, PSG's sporting director, should make a change to inject some optimism into the squad and supporters. It worked for FC Bayern Munich last season as they won the Champions League over PSG. Tuchel may keep his job for a couple of more weeks. PSG host Dijon FCO on October 24, and then travel to Turkey to play Istanbul Başakşehir F.K. That's a game PSG should win comfortably but if things go south, it's hard to imagine Tuchel continuing with PSG and the club's future in the Champions League this season would very much be in the balance. The podcast concludes with us answering questions from Twitter, including what we think of the rumor that a European super league could be a reality in the near future. Paris Saint-Germain still has a match against Amiens SC on Saturday, but let's be honest, all everyone cares about right now is next week's UEFA Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund. On this episode of PSG Talking, I'm joined by Mel, James, and Guillaume just hours after PSG's 6-1 win over Dijon FCO in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France on Wednesday. We start the show with our overall thoughts on the Dijon match before diving into the biggest PSG topics. First up is the situation with Neymar Jr. The Brazilian has missed PSG's last three matches and is questionable to feature against Dortmund. Is he seriously injured or is manager Thomas Tuchel keeping him out of the lineup to ensure he's healthy for the Champions League? Next up, we test our panel's confidence level going into the match. Dortmund is facing several injuries to key starters but so is PSG. Should PSG still be the favorites to advance or is the tie more level now? It always seems like there is a lineup surprise going into a big knockout phase game and I ask the crew what changes Tuchel might have up his sleeve. Could he go with three at the back with so many defenders out due to injury? We wrap up the show by giving our score predictions and answer a couple of questions from Twitter.
