Billi breaks down the betting lines for Matchday 19 Bündesliga slate. Bayern Munich no longer boast an unbeaten league record after they suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat in last Saturday's home meeting with Augsburg. The Bavarians appeared to be on course for a 1-0 victory until they conceded two goals in the space of six minutes in the latter stages of proceedings at the Allianz Arena. While they would have been disappointed with that result, Bayern are still in a strong position to retain their Bundesliga crown, with eight points separating them from Borussia Dortmund in second position.
Christian Polanco and Christine Cupo kick things off by tiering the Champions League field, separating the favorites from the contenders, dark horses, and pretenders. Who's built to go the distance, which clubs are being overrated, and who could surprise Europe this season?Next, the guys react to Anthony Gordon's recent comments throwing shade at the Premier League. Has the league's dominance made it predictable and boring, or is this just another case of fans confusing quality with excitement? Christian and Christine debate whether the “best league in the world” label still holds up.Finally, the conversation turns to the USWNT as Emma Hayes officially ushers in a new era. With a clear vision, fresh energy, and evolving tactics, the guys ask whether this team could reach an even higher level of dominance than previous generations.Timestamps:(4:30) – Recapping Champions League Matchday 8 excitement(9:00) – Listing Champions League Pretenders(19:30) – Champions League contenders(28:30) – Champions League favorites(31:00) - Reacting to Anthony Gordon's comments on PL's lost excitement(43:30) - Emma Hayes ushering in USWNT's new era?
A wondergoal from Antonio Vergara and a goal from Rasmus Hojlund gave Napoli a 2-3 loss against Chelsea, for whom Enzo Fernandez and Joao Pedro scored twice, the first a rocket.

Jack is joined by Goal.com's Sean Walsh to discuss Tottenham's brilliant win over Borussia Dortmund. We react to a refreshing approach and performance, trying to make sense of it within the context of an otherwise awful season, though nobody should be complaining about the result right now. We analyse the tactical shift that saw Djed Spence utilised in an advanced role, praising his partnership with Destiny Udogie on the left and asking if this is a blueprint we will see more of going forward. The pressure on Thomas Frank was immense coming into this, could this be the springboard for a genuine turnaround, or is the writing already on the wall regardless? Sean then answers your questions, covering the questionable transfer links to two underwhelming West Ham players, and a deep dive into Tottenham's injury record which sparks a wider conversation about whether football is in danger of eating itself by pushing players' bodies to the brink. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Actors TJ Ramini and Darren Hart along with Luke as another wonderful Champions League night in N17 saw us overcome Borussia Dortmund with goals from Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke rounding off an excellent performance. Tuesday's 2-0 victory guaranteed a top 24 finish in the league phase and a play-off place and, depending on Wednesday night's results, it's likely a win at Eintracht Frankfurt next Wednesday will secure a passage straight into the last 16. Facing a Dortmund side which had only lost once in the Bundesliga all season and were joint top scorers in this season's Champions League, we were always on top in the contest, even before Daniel Svensson was given a straight red card in the 26th minute. By that stage, Romero had netted his first Champions League goal for us, while Solanke capped his first start of the season with his first goal of the campaign to put us 2-0 up at the break, a lead we didn't relinquish. It extended our run to 24 home European matches without defeat and four home wins without conceding in the league phase this term, while there was a further bright spot with a debut off the bench for 17-year-old Academy product Jun'ai Byfield, becoming Legacy Number 902 in the process. We also discuss what impact the nature of the result has on under-fire head coach Thomas Frank. On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Burnley fan Jack Toner and Tottenham Hotspur fan Ricky Saunders ahead of Saturday's important GW23 meeting at Turf Moor. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Jason McGovern, Ian Lubin and George Achillea as we reflect on the news that Thomas Frank is on the brink of being sacked at Tottenham Hotspur. Club chiefs are now understood to be weighing up whether to axe him before Tuesday's Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund. Spurs' hierarchy, previously steadfast in their support of the Dane, registered the scale of the furious fan reaction to Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to West Ham. Senior figures are understood to be keen to take the temperature of Frank's squad to assess if there is still internal support for the former Brentford boss. But there is a growing sense that the Dane cannot restore any authority and that the best move for all parties could be to bring his miserable seven-month reign to an end swiftly. We discuss when Spurs are likely to make the decisions in addition to who will steady the ship on an interim basis and who the panel would like to be the next permanent manager of the football club.
Jack is joined by Phil to discuss the seemingly inevitable exit of Thomas Frank that is... still yet to happen. Despite an awful 2-1 loss at home to West Ham and intense gossip suggesting he would be sacked on Monday, the manager has apparently received a vote of confidence from the board, citing a "good lunch" with Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange. We ask how on earth they have come to this decision when Frank simply doesn't look fit for the role. We also turn the spotlight on the squad. Do certain players need to take a long, hard look at themselves? Is there a culture at Tottenham that allows this group to constantly hide behind the manager or the board when things go wrong? We discuss the rumours linking Xavi Hernandez to the job. Is he really the right man, or are there flags present already? Finally, attention turns to the Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund. We question Frank's controversial decision to remove Mathys Tel from the European squad to reinstate Dominic Solanke, and pick through the key quotes from a defiant pre-match press conference.
Was ist da los? Learn more about your ad choices.
