Fan Jan is hitting its stride here on @wedrinkandwewatchthings, and this week we are tackling one of the most requested feel-good sports dramas of all time: the 2000 Disney classic, Remember the Titans. It's time to head back to 1971 Alexandria, Virginia, for a story about football, integration, and the kind of teamwork that can change a community. Pour yourself a Left Side, Strong Side cocktail by @crft.world - something refreshing for those grueling two-a-days - and get ready to feel all the emotions. This week, we examine the towering, authoritative performance of Denzel Washington as Coach Herman Boone and the quiet, steadfast integrity of Will Patton's Coach Yoast. We revisit the unforgettable bond between Julius Campbell and Gerry Bertier, which serves as the emotional heartbeat of the entire movie. We also take a moment to appreciate the legendary Gettysburg speech and consider how this film manages to be both a quintessential "Bruckheimer" production and a deeply sincere look at overcoming racial prejudice through a shared goal.If you grew up chanting "Left side, strong side," or if you just need a reminder of how sports can bring out the best in us, this is the episode for you. We're blending our nostalgia for this childhood staple with our usual casual banter, making this a truly inspirational addition to our fan-requested month. Attitude reflects leadership, Captain! This episode VIDEO is live on YouTube AND Spotify!Follow us on Instagram and TikTok to get ep sneak peaks and find out what's coming next. Berly and LA dive into Supernatural Season 8, Episode 16: "Remember the Titans" - where Greek mythology crashes into Montana and nobody knows what mountain they're talking about! The episode opens with a drunk driver hitting a cute moppy-haired guy walking along the road. The victim dies, gets his liver pecked out by a bird of prey, then inconveniently resurrects and walks away - leaving one very confused cop muttering about zombies. Sam and Dean investigate and discover the resurrectee is Shane (actually Prometheus), who has no memory but knows he dies every single day and comes back to life.Things get complicated when a mystery woman attacks Shane in his motel room, easily tossing the Winchesters aside. She vanishes after declaring herself his "worst enemy," and Shane promptly has a heart attack and dies again. Enter Haley, a woman who found Shane after an avalanche seven years ago and has been searching for him ever since - because he died during sex with her (traumatizing) and left her pregnant with Oliver, a seven-year-old who inherited daddy's daily death curse.Sam's research reveals Shane is actually Prometheus, the Titan who stole fire for humanity. The attacker was Artemis, daughter of Zeus, who's been forced to kill the love of her life repeatedly as punishment. The hosts loved Artemis's character and weapons, wishing she'd gotten more screen time than the "boring" male characters. The gang heads to the Men of Letters bunker (still won't move Kevin in from that houseboat though!) and summons Zeus using cheap jewelry-grade fulgurite from a crystal shop - no breaking and entering required this time! Zeus shows up looking suave and menacing, but Haley immediately breaks the trap trying to save Oliver, because apparently she can't wait five minutes to see if their bluff works.Zeus delights in torturing both Prometheus and Oliver, but Sam cleverly deduces Artemis has feelings for Prometheus. After some quality gossip-girl tactics, Artemis decides to kill her dad instead. Zeus uses Prometheus as a human shield, but Prometheus sacrifices himself by pushing the arrow through to hit Zeus, killing them both in a lightning explosion. The episode ends with a hunter's funeral for Prometheus (Artemis peaced out with Zeus's body), and Sam finally admitting to Dean that he's worried about surviving the trials. Dean puts on an optimistic front but privately prays to Cas to watch over his brother, showing he's actually terrified Sam won't make it.The hosts appreciated the Greek mythology angle and loved Artemis, though they noted Oliver never spoke until the very end and Haley kept asking "what curse?" despite clear explanations. A solid episode that balanced action with character development while moving the trial storyline forward."Who do we know that has Jason Bourne fighting skills, dies a lot, and has a history with violent women?" "I don't know. You."Sources:https://supernatural.fandom.com/wiki/Remember_the_Titans https://www.greeka.com/greece-myths/prometheus/Send us your review!Support the showTHANK YOU FOR LISTENING!Please rate and review Denim-Wrapped Nightmares wherever you get your podcasts! In this special episode, we take a nostalgic look back at the early recordings that sparked our popular movie review format. This episode is a fun compilation of guests sharing their favorite school-related movies and TV shows, along with their thoughts on what's realistic — and what's not — about those stories. Our guests represent voices from across the country, including Pennsylvania, Utah, Texas, Missouri, Montana, Arizona, Wisconsin, California, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina, Oregon, Kentucky, New York, Connecticut, Minnesota, and Rhode Island. Each guest answered two key questions: What is your favorite school-related TV show or movie? What is unrealistic about that movie or TV show?   The answers ranged from heartwarming classics to laugh-out-loud comedies and inspiring dramas. Here's a breakdown of the most mentioned titles:   School of Rock - 6 mentions Abbott Elementary - 4 mentions Remember the Titans - 2 mentions Grease - 2 mentions The Sound of Music - 1 mention Dead Poets Society - 1 mention Home Alone - 1 mention Annie - 1 mention Welcome Back, Kotter - 1 mention Dangerous Minds - 1 mention Summer School - 1 mention Top Gun - 1 mention Stand and Deliver - 1 mention To Sir, With Love - 1 mention Ferris Bueller's Day Off - 1 mention Fast Times at Ridgemont High - 1 mention Most Likely to Succeed - 1 mention Gilmore Girls - 1 mention Glee - 1 mention The Long Game - 1 mention A Christmas Story - 1 mention Billy Madison - 1 mention The OC - 1 mention The Breakfast Club - 1 mention I Love Lucy - 1 mention Friday Night Lights - 1 mention Yesterday - 1 mention Old School - 1 mention Boston Public - 1 mention Freedom Writers - 1 mention Ted Lasso - 1 mention Back to School - 1 mention   Whether you're a fan of inspiring educators, unforgettable student antics, or heartwarming school stories, this episode is packed with entertaining insights from guests who know education best. Discover how the movie "Remember the Titans" provides a powerful framework for pre-qualifying prospects and improving communication. Eric emphasizes the importance of simplicity and consistency, likening a focused playbook to the movie's core strategies. Listeners will learn why sticking to fundamental questions, much like Coach Boone's limited but effective plays, can drive success. The episode further explores how mastering and repetitively practicing these core elements leads to significant gains, mirroring the movie's theme of persistent execution.   KeyTakeaways: Stick to a simple, core set of questions or strategies to avoid overcomplicating your approach. Practice your core strategies repetitively to master them, ensuring consistent execution and better outcomes. Avoid deviating from proven methods, as this can lead to mistakes and lost progress. Use mirroring by repeating a client's words back to them to encourage the client to open up and to ensure understanding. Focus on active listening to truly understand your client's needs and emotions.   Links to resources:    Contractor Sales Secrets: ContractorSalesSecrets.com   Water Garden Expo 2025: WGExpo.com   The All American Koi Show: AllAmericanKoiShow.com   Fitz Fish Ponds: Koi Trips   Book A Call With Triplett: Call with Triplett   The Pond Digger: https://theponddigger.com/   LA Pet Fair: https://www.lapetfair.com/    Atlantic-Oase: https://www.atlantic-oase.com/   You can also check out The Pond Digger's products at:   http://helixpondfiltration.com/    TWT Contractor Circle   TWT Contractor Power Circle   And follow his adventures in the pond world at: Instagram  Facebook  TikTok
