What does this 2021 film adaptation of the 1965 Frank Herbert novel attempt to portray in terms of the predestination of Paul Atreides and his evolving attitude toward the leadership role toward which he is being groomed? Do Paul's visions of his own future raise moral questions for him as to whether he should take on the leadership role he is apparently destined to take? How does the story capitalize on the “block theory of time” in the person of Paul? How does the story serve as a cautionary tale for charismatic political leaders? Does the story in some way support fascism? How does the story of Paul resemble the story of T.E. Lawrence? Does the weight of the novel's political setting overburden both it and the film with exposition? What historical inspirations did Herbert have in mind when writing the novel? How does the film remind us of Saudi Arabia's history and relations with the United States, Britain, or the USSR? How do the Fremen reflect the stresses of environmental factors upon human populations as they attempt to survive in harsh climates?

Paul forces Eli to take a trip to Gannonland this week. Against his wishes, Eli is made to play two games that, when the dust settles, may have cost them their sanity. Do Paul and James contradict one another? This 2-part series from Romans 3 and James 2 reveals how the two passages are complementary, not contradictory. Paul discusses how we are justified before God, by grace through faith, because of the work Jesus did on our behalf on the cross. James discusses how a person who has been justified will reveal that justification through actions that grow naturally out of a relationship with God.

Scott, Derrick and Wade discuss the unique opportunities and challenges that single men face. Group Questions: How old were you when you got married? Did you want to get married earlier or later in life, and why? If you are not married, do you wish you were? Or, do you prefer being single, and if so why? Read 1 Corinthians 7:7. How does Paul describe singleness? Do Paul’s words line up with the culture’s view of singleness and marriage? How does it feel to be single in the church? If you’re married, how do you view single adults in the church? How can single and married adults better love one another in the church? Greg Chandler says, “being single gives you the chance (time and freedom) to become whole.” If you are single, how are you moving towards wholeness? How are you using your time and energy? If married, how would you encourage a single person to use that freedom? What guys are you sharpening? How are they sharpening you? Navigating sexual desires in a healthy and biblical way is a huge struggle for men who are single and married. Why doesn’t marriage fix our sexual struggles? How can men encourage each other to remain pure in singleness and faithful in marriage? Read Proverbs 5. Wade said, “Purity is worth it. It’s hard and it takes discipline, but it’s so worth it.” Do you believe this? If not, what is keeping you from it? Wade mentioned that being single allows the unique opportunity to honor women and value them in a way that they may not be used to. How are you going to value and take care of the women in your life this week?
Can a person be saved multiple times? Do Paul and James contradict each other? This week we talk the central issue of the reformation. This glorious doctrine of justification is something we need to understand and be able to articulate. Join us for a talk on what justification is. sound clips credit: White Horse Inn
The hosts of Two Faced Wrestling Talk take a ride on the Road To Destruction, re-living the brutal showdown between Naito and Suzuki. Just as brutal as the in-ring action was the action outside the ring, where Kenny Omega had some harsh words about Tanahashi. Do Paul and Kelsi agree with the Champ's assessment of the Ace? It was champion versus champion in NXT, but did the match live up to its historic billing? Also, the hosts give their review of Hell in A Cell. And in the Pop 'n' Wrestling Connection, Paul and Kelsi, along with their listeners make up Boy Bands comprised of wrestlers. Want to interact and become part of the show?
