Dearbhla Ashe always wanted a career in comedy, and suffered hard to get as far as she has - a nightly show in a dilapidated hotel on a sleepy coastal town in Maine. It might be enough, but the appearance of a young, new comedic star forces her to choose whether to foster new talent or fight for her own position on stage. The Dark Tome reopens with an original work of audio horror, THE DEVIL'S CHAIR, written and performed by Irish playwright and actress Méabh de Brún (The Silt Verses, Secret of St. Kilda). THE DEVIL'S CHAIR originally aired on Undertow, Realm's podcast of the weird and the wicked - check out Season 12 (Familiar Haunts) if you like what you hear. Written by and starring Méabh de Brún. Directed by Fred Greenhalgh. Produced by Fred Greenhalgh and Ella Watts. Dialogue editing, sound design, music by Katharine Seaton. Recorded at Soundcaster Studios in Dublin Ireland. When Gloria took a waitressing job in a diner outside of Phoenix, she didn't realize she was now an employee of Midnight Burger, a time-traveling, dimension-spanning diner. Every day Midnight Burger appears somewhere new in the cosmos along with its staff: a galactic drifter, a rogue theoretical physicist, a sentient old-timey radio, and some guy named Caspar. No one knows who built Midnight Burger or how it works, but when it appears there's always someone around who could really use a cup of coffee. Midnight Burger began in the deep, dark time of the pandemic when we were all bored out of our minds and also terrified of everything. Joe Fisher, a screenwriter and playwright, turned to his partner Finlay Stevenson, an audiobook narrator and director, and said "Let's make something." After a few calls to old friends they had a cast, and the adventure began. Now in Season 3, Midnight Burger has over three million downloads, passionate subscribers, and critical acclaim.
