Attacking The Championship

Charts and Graphs can be found by clicking the match headline below.Reviews really help spread the word of our channel, and a great way for you to ask questions you'd like us to dig into further. Can't wait to hear from you. Today we look at European Championships 2024 Groups E and F, how they're shaping up as far as playing styles, passing tempo, defensive pressing and intensity, crosses and deep completions. Group E couldn't be more in the balance with every team on 3 points. One goal could change everything. Group F is a little more certain. Portugal sit at the top on 6 points with the other three teams scrapping it out for the remaining qualifying positions. Group EUkraine v Belgium - Although Belgium lost their first game the underlying performance metrics paint a very promising picture. Their playing style radar chart displays what we expect to see from a dominant team with a high possession, attacking and pressing picture. No surprises when you look at the talent at their disposal. We think they'll dominate possession once again and put Ukraine under a lot of pressure...... is this the game where Belgium take their chances and tally up the goal total their build up play has merited? Ukraine have been a hybrid of all five playing styles without really showing their true colours, remember this is after only two games of course. We don't expect them to go toe to toe with Belgium, more likely choosing a more cautious approach and hitting Belgium on the counter attack. We can't much other than a dominant Belgium win..... if Romelu Lukaku can take his chances and avoid anymore VAR involvements. Slovakia V Romania - Two counter attacking teams that have been happy to let Belgium and Ukraine dominate possession in their previous two matches. So who will take the game by the scruff of the neck and try to get the win? But do they really have to? With Belgium red hot favourites to beat Ukraine a total of 4 points would be enough to ensure qualification in either the runner up of third place position. We predict a slow cautious and boring game that will end with little incident, but a double celebration after the 90 minutes is complete. Group FCzech Republic V Turkey - The Czech Republic have been a counter attacking team on the whole in their first two matches which is perhaps not a surprise considering one of their opponents was a strong Portugal side who dominated possession. You know that the Czechs will give anyone a difficult game, and if Turkey drop their standards at all we think the Czechs could seal a place in the knockout stages. Turkey have been very inconsistent. A breath of fresh air against Georgia, but a shadow of that team against a strong Portugal...... so who are the real Turkish team? A lot will depend on whether their first choice goalkeeper is fit for selection, and whether the manager feels confident in releasing their young superstar in the making, Arda Guler, onto this big stage once again. We thin there's potential for a more rear guard set up from the Turks knowing that a draw would be enough for automatic qualification. The first goal... if it comes, will be vital to how the flow of the game develops. Portugal v Georgia - On paper its a mismatch. Portugal have dominated both opponents so far with their possession based, attacking and high...

Take Home Reading is a new short-form audio series for readers and writers – shining a spotlight on Australian writers with recently released books. In each instalment, you'll be introduced to a writer, learn a little about what they've been reading lately, and hear a short reading from their latest work. In this episode we're talking to Rawah Arja about her debut young adult novel The F Team, a funny and authentic story about what it means to grow up in Australia today. ‘I always say to the kids that I teach, and the kids that I mentor in schools, I never want to be in a room where everybody looks and sounds like me. I believe growth and learning in life is about mixing with people that are different to you... I think everybody has the right to tell their own story. For a long time in publishing, I got used to being comfortable with the back of the line. And I thought that was where I should be... I should be happy that at least I'm even in the line. And then you grow up and you realise that no, I have every right to be at the front of the line, because my story is just as amazing as everybody else's.' The F Team is out now through Giramondo. Rawah Arja’s The F Team is set at Punchbowl Boys High School. Tariq and his friends in year ten have heard their entire lives that there is something wrong with the school. The media paints them as a training ground for terrorists and now the department is threatening to shut them down and disperse the students to other schools. But Tariq knows that this is his community and despite their attitude, the boys don’t want to lose their school. But what are they willing to do?When a tough new principle offers the group a chance they are sceptical. They must join students from Cronulla to form a football team. If they can prove not only that they can win but that they can get along there is hope to resurrect the school’s image.Rawah Arja is a teacher and mentor who has worked with teenage boys. Growing up in the Canterbury area she saw how media depictions of the area wore away at students' self image and their belief that they can be more than the stereotypes they are depicted. The F Team is a nuanced portrait of the area and features a stunning ensemble cast. Somehow Rawah has crafted deep, affecting portraits of more than a dozen characters and given them satisfying arcs. This gives the story terrific power because while we are concerned for Tariq, Huss, Ibby and PJ it is their relationships and the way these build up the community that give their story meaning. The story explores the impact of prejudice on these young men’s lives but it does not give them a free pass. At sixteen years old, these are young men whose childhood has been shrouded by media depictions of young muslim men in the wake of the Cronulla riots. Tariq and his friends are severely limited in their abilities to express themselves because they never know when their actions might be given up as just another example of the worst they can be.Through the football competition we are exposed to the challenges of being a man in a world that expects a certain performance of masculinity. This is juxtaposed with an interest in Slam poetry and the students becoming involved in Bankstown poetry Slam. In both arenas the message is simple and powerful; your words matter so choose them carefully and do not throw them around like weapons because you never know who they will hurt.In particular the book confronts the problematic attitudes that grow from young men believing that they have a free pass to treat women however they please. Within the world of Slam poetry Tariq must learn that expressing himself is a strength but that expression extends to listening and respecting everyone. This book is pure Sydney and it is part of a growing body of work that includes Michael Mohammed Ahmad, Felicity Castagna & Randa Abdul Fattah showing us the fullness of the city.

Improvising sports movies? Rob and Dave have been there and done that. It's time to dip their comedic toes into new water, by building out a brand new sports comedy TV show in which a handpicked group of NFL superstars join together in order to solve crimes. Yes, it's the A-Team, but with a slightly different name that you won't believe.    What crimes will they solve? Which players will be a part of it? How will lax bros figure into the plot in season 2? These are all questions that will be asked (some of which will be answered rather unsatisfactorily) in the inaugural pilot description of...
