Macy Maxson did not intend to become a lightning rod pushing back on the gender ideology agenda that has infiltrated so much of society, even feminine hygiene products. But when Maxon founded Garnuu, a tampon subscription company, in 2022, she wanted to affirm biological reality. “From the beginning,” Maxson says she decided her company would stand firm on the fact “that only women can get periods.” After Maxson launcher Garnuu, Tampax started using transgender activists, such as Dylan Mulvaney, to promote its products. Maxson said she watched as other tampon companies began moving away from feminine branding and word choice in product promotion, but Garnuu branded itself as a “girls only club.” That simple statement cost Maxson some customers who claimed stating that only women get periods was not loving. “We're just calling it a ‘girls only club' and it's just truth,” Maxson said. “How is that not loving? But OK, whatever, so then I just ran with it.” While some took offense to Maxson's firm position on biology, many more celebrated the way Garnuu upholds the dignity of women, leading to the small companies' growth. Garnuu customers are so “supportive” that Maxson says she quit her 9-5 job and is leading the rapidly growing company full time. Maxson joins “Problematic Women” at the Conservative Political Action Conference to discuss the challenges and rewards of launching a company, and her commitment to truth. Maxson also explains the value of cycle syncing, a process in which women strategically work with their bodies as hormone levels rise and fall during their cycle. Maxon appears to have dropped all plans to complete their BeOS port of Cinema 4D after Be decided to focus on the Internet appliance market in late 1999. AFAIK a pure software multitrack digital audio recording and editing suite never shipped for the BeOS. If you can find a DAW for BeOS that was available in 2000 right before everything imploded, I'd like to hear from you. :-) I have a sample track from one but I don't think it was ever published. GrooveMachine doesn't count since it's geared towards short samples and phrases. BeBits lists Qua as a hard disk recorder, but the author's website states its audio functionality is also centered on short samples. Printing support was not a priority for BeOS. Hey, this was supposed to be an OS for the multimedia future, not dead tree prepress! I tried the third-party BInkjet printer support package with a DeskJet 680C and it worked well. My guest Lou Maxon, mentioned his passion project of constructing a railroad car office in his backyard, allowing him to reconnect with his childhood love for trains. We had this conversation on the phone as we were scheduling the details to record an episode about his design career. This led to coordinating a time to visit Lou's latest creative project. Maxon Railroad. This passion project not only serves as an inspiring workspace, but it also connects him to the rich history and excitement of railroads. To achieve this vision, Lou faced various challenges, including learning about trains, rails, and working as a general contractor. However, showcasing persistence and dedication, he managed to build the railroad track he had always dreamt of. In the conversation, Lou described in detail how he had always been captivated by trains since childhood. He shared his fascination for model railroads with his father and the impact of railroads on the town he lived in. It's evident that Lou's passion for trains played a major role in fueling his creativity for constructing a railroad-inspired office, driving him to continuously be hands-on in the entire building process. Designing the Studio: A Creative Space Inspired by Trains Creative spaces often hold the power to inspire and spur innovation, offering an environment where individuals can focus and dive into their imaginative minds. For Lou Maxon, a train-inspired creative studio provided the perfect space for his unique work requirements, allowing him to physically unplug, dream, and imagine various projects for both himself and his clients. This studio serves as a reminder of the importance of creating an ideal workspace that enhances productivity and fosters originality. During the podcast, Lou elaborated on the design of his studio, revealing that it was meticulously planned to resemble a caboose in both structure and function.
