Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom continues the Dom Giordano Program by offering his updated forecast on the 2024 Presidential election, explaining why he'd like to see more waves from Tim Scott, though he realistically knows Scott won't usurp Trump or DeSantis. Then, Dom tells of a new push to ban chocolate milk by the federal government guised as equity. Also, Dom tells that friend-of-the-show Bruce Castor has announced that he'll be parting ways with his client, Rudy Giuliani. Dom asks Dan to pursue Castor, which leads to the attorney calling in to tell why he's no longer wanting to support the national figure. Castor tells that Giuliani has been out of touch and hasn't been paying his bills, so he's been left no option but to move on. Then, Castor reflects on big cases that he's worked, including the defense of President Donald Trump, and the horrific case of the shooting of 8-year-old Fanta Bility in Delaware County. Then, Dom spends a good chunk of the hour discussing local politics, calling back to the Mayoral campaign and reinforcing why Cherelle Parker brings a positive outlook for the City of Philadelphia. Then, Dom tells of some things being done currently in Philadelphia, explaining why the stupidity of our local government gave voters no other choice but a change of direction. After that, Dom welcomes in media critic Neal Zoren to hear what's worth watching over the weekend. First, though, Dom asks Zoren about the changing dynamics of viewing habits as streaming services continue to usurp tradition cable channels, noting a decision by ESPN to simulcast its live broadcast on a stream. Then, Dom asks Zoren if he expects prices to rise on streaming services as brands merge such as HBO and Discovery and Disney and Hulu. v

During a press conference on Monday, Governor Ron DeSantis said 20,000 powerline workers are prepared to address widespread power outages. According to an NBC10 report, many city residents doubted the order will have a substantial impact on violent crime. In a letter addressed to Merrick Garland on Monday, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) demanded the Attorney General answer for a seemingly over-the-top raid on the home of a pro-life activist from Bucks County. A judge has denied a motion to dismiss manslaughter charges against three Sharon Hill police officers accused of shooting 8-year-old Fanta Bility in August of 2021. Should schools be embracing gender affirmation policies without consent from parents? Listeners call-in to discuss.

During a House Oversight Committee hearing on Thursday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez attacked her Republican colleague, Rep. Clay Higgins for his questioning of environmental lawyer Raya Salter. Ocasio Cortez stated: “men who treat women like that in public, I fear how they treat them in private.” However, after listening to audio of the referenced exchange, AOC's suggestions of verbal abuse were unfounded and comically exaggerated. Were Alexandria Ocasio Cortez' accusations over the top—even for her? Listeners weigh-in.
1 year ago, right outside of Philadelphia, in a town called Sharon Hill, local police shot and killed an 8 year old girl named Fanta Bility, and tried to claim it was in a shootout. But there was no shootout. And police have offered no credible explanation on why they unloaded their guns into the car of Fanta's family - killing Fanta, shooting her sister, and injuring other innocent bystanders. Now, police are saying that since it can't be proven which of their bullets killed Fanta, that none of them should be convicted. So we MUST take action to stand up for this family. Hour 1 of The Dawn Stensland Show: A 13-year-old girl was shot through the back of her right ear last Friday evening. In June, she was one of the witnesses to the murder of a 73-year-old who was beaten with a traffic cone by a group of kids. Investigators believe the shooting may have been an accident, according to Fox29 news. The Philadelphia Police Department is at risk of losing its state accreditation. According to reports, the revocation of accreditation stems from the city's adoption of the “Driving Equality Bill” which forbids police officers from pulling over drivers for “minor driving infractions.” Attorneys for three Sharon Hill police officers have requested that the manslaughter charges filed against them in the shooting death of an 8-year-old girl be dropped. Gingrich said he believes Dr. Mehmet Oz will beat Fetterman in their Senate race. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), Pennsylvania is the second largest natural gas-producing state in the country. Will John Fetterman's public opposition to fracking hurt him in the November election?

In the final hour of today's show, Dom leads off with ace reporter Steve Keeley of Fox 29, who has a multitude of crime stories to break on the show. First, Keeley discusses a shooting of an off-duty police officer in West Norriton, after getting out of his car to stop two teenagers from arguing. Keeley takes us through the entire situation, explaining how the officer had left his vehicle to approach the teens only to get shot, further noting that the officer has since been airlifted to Penn Presbyterian Hospital. Then, Keeley updates the situation surrounding charges levied in the murder of 8-year-old Fanta Bility, who was killed in police crossfire after shooters opened fire on a high school football game. Finally, Keeley wraps up by telling the audience what he knows about a shooting at Love Park in Center City Philadelphia. After Keeley, Dom holds his Dom's Money Melody game, and discusses how we can address growing issues of crime in and around Philadelphia. Then, Senator Pat Toomey stops onto the show for his monthly check-in, largely discussing the “bipartisan” infrastructure bill. Toomey, who voted against the bill, tells why he could not vote yes, laying out the economic implications of passing such a hefty bill. Then, Giordano asks Toomey about claims made by Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick earlier this week on the show, in which he argued his vote was solely to offer bipartisanship prior to the discussion centered on the highly progressive $3.5 trillion spending bill in an effort to save the filibuster. Toomey argues that the filibuster was not threatened by this particular bill, so he disagrees with the Republicans who chose to cross the aisle. Bruce Castor, attorney representing the family of slain 8-year-old Fanta Bility, joins the Dom Giordano Program for an update on the filing of a civil case against police using excessive force in irresponsibly returning fire against a drive-by shooter at a high school football game. Castor explains that both he and the family of Fanta Bility were left unsatisfied by the Sharon Hill leaders after the tragic incident. Castor explains what he believes to be missteps by local police during the pursuit of said suspects, and tells the underlying issues that he believes led to the tragedy. This past August, as she walked with her family from a high school football game, police in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania shot and killed 8 year old Fanta Bility, shot her sister, and injured other bystanders and families. I spoke to the family this week. Let me unpack and explain what I know.
Bruce Castor, friend of the Dom Giordano Program and top-level attorney, rejoins the show to discuss the death of 8-year-old Fanta Bility, who was killed in a police crossfire after a shooting at a football game in Sharon Hill. Castor reframes the tragic night that left Fanta dead and three others wounded, explaining who first fired shots toward the crowd, and telling of the police decision-making when determining that the appropriate response would be to return fire in a public space.
