The crescent Moon charges through a rapidly disappearing group of bright stars and planets early this evening. Most of the group will be gone from view by the end of the month. As twilight begins to fade, the planet Mercury is close below the Moon. Brighter Jupiter is the same distance to the left or upper left of the Moon. Pollux and Castor, the twins of Gemini, are to the upper right of the Moon. And the brightest member of the group is farther to the upper left of the Moon: Venus, the brilliant “evening star.” Except for Venus, all the members of the group are dropping toward the Sun as seen from Earth. For Pollux and Castor, it’s because all true stars rise and set four minutes earlier each day. So every star disappears in the evening twilight at the same time every year. For Jupiter and Mercury, the descent is due in part to the same thing – the daily shift of the starry background. But it’s also influenced by the relative motions of Earth and the planets themselves. Mercury is beginning a rapid dive toward the Sun, and will cross between Earth and Sun in a few weeks. Jupiter, on the other hand, is headed toward a passage behind the Sun as seen from Earth. But Venus is actually moving farther from the Sun. It won’t reach its peak separation for two months, so it’ll remain in good view in the western evening sky into October. We’ll have more about the Moon and Venus tomorrow. Script by Damond Benningfield

For skywatchers in the United States, a grouping in the western evening sky right now is a case of the haves and the have-mores. The group is visible across the entire country. But the view gets better as you move farther south. The group features the planets Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury, and the stars Pollux and Castor – the “twins” of Gemini. Venus is the brightest member, with the twins to its right, and Jupiter and Mercury to its lower right. All five members of the group are near the ecliptic – the Sun’s path across the sky. And the angle of the ecliptic varies by latitude. As seen from the equator, the ecliptic stands almost straight up from the horizon at sunset. The Sun drops straight down below the horizon, so the sky darkens quickly. At the same time, Venus and the others stand fairly high above the horizon. They’re still well up as twilight fades. As you go farther north, the ecliptic tilts toward the south. The farther north you are, the greater that angle. So when the Sun sets, it doesn’t drop straight down – it also slides across the horizon. As a result, the sky remains bright for much longer than it does at the equator. Venus and the others are lower in the sky at sunset, so they’re more likely to be blocked by trees or mountains. And they’re immersed in the twilight longer. That leaves less time to enjoy this beautiful group of planets and stars in the evening sky. Script by Damond Benningfield

The twins of Gemini have a front-row seat for a planetary waltz this month. Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury are close to the twins now, and will bunch up even closer as the month progresses. The “twins” are the stars Pollux and Castor. They’re about a quarter of the way up the western sky as evening twilight fades. Pollux is the brighter of the two, with Castor to its right. Jupiter looks like a brilliant star to the lower left of the twins. It’s the largest planet in the solar system. But it’s on the far side of the Sun as seen from Earth, so it’s more than 550 million miles away – about six times the distance between Earth and the Sun. Venus is even brighter – the “evening star.” It’s below the twins. Although it’s a little smaller than Earth, it shines much brighter than Jupiter mainly because it’s much closer to both Earth and the Sun. Venus and Jupiter remain in view for a good while after darkness falls. That’s not the case for Mercury. It’s well to the lower right of the others, and much lower in the sky. It’s bright, though, so with a clear horizon, there’s a good chance to spot it. Mercury will move a little higher into the sky over the next few nights, improving the view. But the real action involves Jupiter and Venus. Venus is climbing away from the Sun quickly. It will nestle especially close to Jupiter on the 8th and 9th. It’ll pull away after that – all in close view of the twins. Script by Damond Benningfield

The Moon lines up with the twins of Gemini this evening – the stars Pollux and Castor. Pollux is the brighter twin, and is closer to the Moon. The brilliant planet Jupiter is to the lower right of the Moon. Gemini has been around for thousands of years. Its roots trace back to ancient Babylon, as do those of many other constellations. All of them were recorded in one of the most important works of astronomy in the ancient world. Known as the Almagest, it was written by Claudius Ptolemy around the year 150. Ptolemy studied many fields, including astronomy, astrology, geology, and music theory. The Almagest is perhaps his most famous work. In it, he recorded the positions of a thousand stars, and included details on the motions of the Sun, Moon, and planets. He also discussed everything from eclipses to the length of the year. The book listed 48 constellations that were visible from northern skies – Gemini among them. The constellations weren’t given any borders – just the regions of the sky in which they appeared. And some barren regions weren’t part of any constellation. Over the centuries, astronomers shifted things around some. And they created constellations for southern skies as well. Finally, in 1930, they created an “official” list of 88 constellations. Each one was given precise borders. That gave every star a home – its own “address” in the universe. Moin und willkommen zum Fleckenhörer am 18. Mai 2026! It is called:The PerineumHui Yin (in Chinese medicine)The "One Million Dollar Point"The "Gate of Death"This point is located in the area of the root chakra, and it connects the root chakra directly to the crown chakra.Where to find it:It lies between your legs, between the scrotum and the tip of your tailbone (coccyx). There is a small "cave" or indentation—massage inside this area. The point may feel tender at first. With regular massage, the tenderness will fade. How to Massage This PointBe gentle. Use light pressure—never force it.Use oil. Castor oil is ideal, but any natural cold-pressed oil (like coconut oil) works well.Be consistent. Massage every day. You may begin to notice results after about one month. Continue the practice for life.Get comfortable. Lie down on your bed relaxed, or sit on the edge of a chair with your knees open. If your pelvis is tense, you won't get the full benefit.Timing matters. Do not do this massage right before sexual activity. Do it when you are relaxed, without pressure or expectation.Technique:Massage the area gently, then press for 5 seconds, release for 5 seconds. Repeat this 4 times.Raw Cacao: Nature's Performance BoosterRaw cacao mass supports your entire body—including your sexual vitality. It has one of the highest antioxidant levels of any food, specifically flavonoids, which are superb for cardiovascular health. And good circulation is exactly what your sexual organs need.1. Better Cardiovascular and Heart HealthBlood Pressure & Circulation: The high level of flavanols in raw cacao helps produce nitric oxide, which relaxes arteries, lowers blood pressure, and improves overall blood flow.Reduced "Bad" Cholesterol: Raw cacao helps reduce the oxidation of LDL cholesterol, preventing plaque formation. This benefit is often lost in heavily processed chocolate.2. Superior Antioxidant ContentRaw cacao contains significantly higher levels of antioxidants—specifically flavonoids—because it is not subjected to high heat (roasting) or chemical processing. It has one of the highest ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) scores of any food. Some estimates suggest it has 40 times the antioxidants of blueberries.3. Improved Cognitive Function and MoodMental Clarity: Raw cacao boosts focus, memory, and attention span by improving cerebral blood flow.Natural Mood Enhancer: It contains compounds like Anandamide (the "bliss molecule") and Phenylethylamine (PEA), which promote feelings of euphoria and relaxation. These compounds are far more preserved in raw, unprocessed cacao.4. Higher Mineral DensityMagnesium: Essential for muscle function, nerve health, and heart health.Iron: Raw cacao provides a highly absorbable source of plant-based iron—especially valuable for vegetarians and vegans.Other Minerals: It is also rich in potassium, copper, manganese, and phosphorus. My Video:  How to Increase Your Potency? https://youtu.be/pXt7lpbOeNQMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast5/How-to-Increase-Your-Potency.mp3

You may assume that the most popular anime to air in Quebec in the 1980s was Captain Harlock or Candy Candy, but that's probably because those are shows you'd find interesting on the surface. If you want to look at what was actually popular with French-Canadian children, you should shift your attention to a surprisingly violent talking beaver cartoon that was actually a repurposed advertisement for a Japanese amusement park put out by the same studio that made Chargeman Ken. Le Petit Castor (known as Don Chuck Monogatari in Japan) was a Quebec dub made for a Quebec audience, and is fondly remembered despite having no English translation in existence. In the lexicon of astronomy, Pollux is known a class K-zero-3 star. That tells us that the star’s surface is a little cooler and redder than the Sun’s. It tells us that the star has puffed up to many times its original size. And it tells us that the star is nearing its end. Pollux is the brightest star of Gemini. It’s quite close to the Moon tonight. Its “twin,” the star Castor, and the brilliant planet Jupiter are a little farther from the Moon. The system that astronomers use to classify stars was developed more than a century ago. It groups the stars into classes O, B, A, F, G, K, and M. That system is based on a star’s surface temperature or color – hotter stars are bluer, while cooler stars are redder. O stars are blue-white, while M stars are red or orange. Each class is subdivided using the numbers zero through nine. At K-0, Pollux is just across the line from class G – the class that includes the Sun. The classification ends with the Roman numerals one through five. A “five” means the star is in the main phase of life. A “three” means it’s moved on to the giant phase. It’s converted the hydrogen in its core to helium. Pollux is now fusing the helium to make carbon and oxygen. That change has caused it to puff up; it’s nine times the diameter of the Sun. Over time, Pollux will get even bigger, cooler, and redder. It may evolve into class M – a brilliant star at the end of its life. Script by Damond Benningfield

You might forgive Pollux if it feels disrespected. It’s the brightest star of Gemini – twice as bright as Castor, its “twin.” But the designation that’s most often used by astronomers is Beta Geminorum. And the Greek letter “Beta” usually is applied to a constellation’s runner-up. That naming system was created by German astronomer Johann Bayer, in 1603. He used the Greek alphabet to name most of the stars in a constellation. Usually, the brightest star was given the first letter, Alpha. The next-brightest was Beta, and so on. But in some cases, Bayer switched things up. He labeled the stars based on their location in the constellation’s classical outline, or on some other category. So for Gemini, Pollux became the “Beta” star even though it’s clearly brighter than “Alpha.” Pollux really is an impressive star. It’s moved into the red-giant phase of life. In fact, it’s the closest red giant to the Sun, at a distance of just 34 light-years. It’s puffed up to about nine times the diameter of the Sun, so it shines almost 40 times brighter than the Sun. And it has a distinctively orange tint – a beautiful look for an impressive star. Pollux and Castor line up to the upper left of the Moon at nightfall this evening. Pollux is closer to the Moon. The planet Jupiter is farther to the upper right of the Moon. Jupiter outshines all the true stars in the night sky – even the brightest light of Gemini. Script by Damond Benningfield

If you head for orbit around Jupiter, you might want to take along your dust mop. Wide but thin rings encircle the planet. And they’re made of tiny particles of dust. Jupiter’s rings are nothing like the magnificent set that encircles Saturn. The rings are so faint, in fact, that they weren’t discovered until 1979, when the Voyager 1 spacecraft flew close to Jupiter. The system consists of four main rings. The inner ring, known as the halo, contains especially tiny particles, like a thin haze. The particles in the main ring are a little larger, but still quite small. And the two outer rings – known as gossamer rings – are wide and thick, but still don’t add up to much. The particles that make up the rings probably were chipped off of some the small moons that orbit close to Jupiter. Chunks of ice and rock slam into the moons, blasting out clouds of debris. The particles in the rings spiral into Jupiter quickly – within hundreds or thousands of years. So the rings are being constantly replenished by more impacts – adding to the dusty environment around the solar system’s largest planet. Jupiter teams up with the Moon and the twins of Gemini tonight. The planet looks like a brilliant star below the Moon at nightfall. It’s far brighter than any of the true stars. Gemini’s twins – the stars Castor and Pollux – line up to the lower left of the Moon. More about this beautiful grouping tomorrow. Script by Damond Benningfield

#200 - Miracle Cure or Internet Hype? The Truth About Castor Oil Castor oil is having a moment. Scroll social media for five minutes and you'll see it: “Cured my endometriosis.” “Detoxed my liver.” “Regrew my hairline.” “Healed… well, everything.” And when something is suddenly the solution to literally every problem… it's time to pause. Because while castor oil is absolutely powerful, not every claim floating around the internet deserves your blind trust (or all of your body parts). In this episode, I break down what castor oil actually is, what it's scientifically supported for, what I personally use it for, and what I absolutely would not recommend—especially if you're pregnant or thinking about putting it near your eyeballs. If you've been curious about castor oil packs, anti-aging benefits, hair growth hacks, stretch mark reduction, or lymphatic detox claims… this episode is your grounded, evidence-based (with a dash of anecdotal honesty) guide. What You'll Learn in This Episode What castor oil is made of (and why omega-9 fatty acids matter) FDA-approved uses vs. influencer folklore Whether castor oil actually helps with constipation Skin barrier repair, anti-aging, and collagen support Hair growth, scalp health, and rosemary oil synergy Castor oil for scars, stretch marks, arthritis, and cracked heels The truth about castor oil packs for liver detox Regular vs. Jamaican black castor oil—is there a difference? Side effects, safety, and when to absolutely avoid it Timestamps 00:00 – Castor oil: miracle cure or marketing frenzy? 01:00 – Why the FDA cracked down on exaggerated claims 02:00 – What castor oil actually is (hello, omega-9 fatty acids) 04:30 – What it's officially approved for 05:00 – Would I drink it for constipation? 06:30 – Traditional uses: skin conditions, infections, inflammation, lymphatic support 07:30 – Skin benefits that actually make sense 08:00 – Fine lines, wrinkles, and collagen support (why it may help) 09:00 – How to use it for hair growth  10:30 – Acne: helpful or hormonal disaster? That's the magic. It's thick. It's deeply emollient. It seals moisture in like a champ. Which makes it excellent for: Dry skin Eczema-prone areas Crepey skin in perimenopause and menopause Fine lines (temporarily plumping through hydration) Cracked heels Dry cuticles Scalp nourishment And when you layer it correctly, it acts like a sealant to hold hydration in. I personally use it nightly on my face, neck, thyroid area, lips, and brows. Am I shiny before bed? Yes. Do I care? Not even a little. What I'd Be Careful With Internal use for constipation (very effective but not my first-line recommendation) Anything near your eyes (I woke up with red, burning, and irritated eyes) Vaginal dryness or sensitive internal use (research first, please) When To Never Use It Pregnancy (it induces labor) Castor Oil & Hormones As estrogen drops in perimenopause and menopause, skin becomes thinner, drier, and less elastic. This is where castor oil shines—literally and figuratively. It supports: Skin barrier repair Moisture retention Elasticity appearance That “spring back” we start to lose Is it Botox? No. Is it still amazing and affordable? Absolutely. Bottom Line Is castor oil a cure-all? Nope. Is it a potent, multi-use, low-risk tool? Yes. In a world where we're constantly sold $200 serums and complicated 12-step regimens, there's something refreshing about a humble glass bottle that's been used for centuries. If you try it: Buy organic Make sure it's in a dark glass bottle Patch test first Use cotton (preferably organic), not polyester, when covering treated areas And maybe—just maybe—pour it into something beautiful so you'll actually remember to use it. One More Thing Pretty Well was shared more than 94% of other shows in Spotify Wrapped this year. That's because of you. You share it. You text it. The constellation Gemini consists of two long lines of stars capped by two of the brighter stars in the night sky. Many cultures have seen these stars as two men. But the legend that endures is the Greek story of Castor and Pollux. The two bright stars bear their names. In the story, the twins had the same mother – Leda, the queen of Sparta. But they had different fathers. Castor was the son of the king – a mortal – while Pollux was the son of Zeus, the king of the gods. The boys were inseparable. They had many adventures together. They joined Jason and the other Argonauts in the search for the golden fleece, and saved their legendary boat during a nasty storm. But during a later battle, Castor was killed. Pollux was inconsolable. He begged Zeus to let him die so he could join Castor in the underworld. Moved by Pollux’s love for his brother, Zeus agreed to keep them together for all time. They would spend half of their time in the heavens, and the other half in the underworld – just like the stars of Gemini. The twins appear near the Moon the next couple of nights. The Moon aligns along the body of the twins tonight. Castor, the fainter twin, is to the left of the Moon at nightfall, with Pollux to the lower left. The giant planet Jupiter is passing through the constellation as well. It looks like an especially brilliant star. Tonight, it’s a little closer to the Moon than the twins are. A Faith-Centered Look at Natural Remedies, Discernment, and Common Sense If God designed plants to support and nourish the body, why do so many of us feel more comfortable trusting synthetic drugs than the things He created? In this episode, we gently explore that question and talk through simple, grounded ways to approach plant-based remedies without fear or overwhelm. This conversation is for Christian women who want clarity, peace, and faith-centered health wisdom — especially if you're tired of researching endlessly, second-guessing yourself, or feeling responsible for figuring everything out alone. My goal is to offer calm guidance rooted in faith, common sense, and respect for the body God created. Why Natural Remedies Can Feel So Overwhelming Many women don't avoid natural remedies because they don't care about their health. They avoid them because the information feels scattered, extreme, or contradictory. When something is unfamiliar, it can quickly feel unsafe — even when it comes from God's creation. Confusion often comes from trying to do too much at once, hearing strong opinions online, or feeling pressure to “get it right.” Plants as Part of God's Design Scripture reminds us that God is our healer, and creation reflects His wisdom. Plants have been used for nourishment, care, and support for generations. Natural remedies don't replace faith, nor do they require fear. Like anything else, they call for wisdom, discernment, and personal responsibility. A Closer Look at Commonly Used Plants In this episode, I share several plants that are often discussed in holistic health spaces and how many people use them in simple, everyday ways: Castor oil, often used externally for skin or joint support Frankincense and myrrh, historically valuable and still commonly used today Lemon balm (also called Melissa), frequently enjoyed as a calming tea Elderberry, widely known for immune support Cacao, a plant-based food many women notice supports mood and inflammation The goal isn't to do everything — it's to understand that small, thoughtful use can go a long way. How to Use Natural Remedies Wisely and Safely Natural doesn't mean careless. Wisdom still matters. Some helpful principles include: Choose reputable brands you trust Start with very small amounts Follow label instructions Be mindful of medical conditions or prescriptions If something feels unclear, it's okay to pause, pray, and seek guidance. Why Discernment Matters More Than Fear It's worth asking why we sometimes fear plants more than heavily processed foods or synthetic products. Discernment isn't about rejecting modern medicine or natural remedies. It's about understanding what we're using, why we're using it, and how it fits into a bigger picture of caring for our bodies with wisdom and humility.
