This year has been an incredibly busy one for the BtGS girls, so when it came time to do our annual live episode at FantasyCon we decided to do something a little different. We threw caution to the wind and went for a fun and silly set-up. Let us assure you: major silliness occurred. We […]

While Cheryl was at FantasyCon in 2018 she caught up with Tade Thompson. Their conversation covered the success of Rosewater, the scariness of The Murders of Molly Southborne, and what it is like for black writers to live in a post-Black Panther world. A shorter version of this interview as originally broadcast on Ujima Radio Women's Outlook.

Dungeon Crawlers Radio is excited to announce that we will be broadcasting live from FilmQues. We will be sitting down and taking with Jonathan Martin coordinator of FilmQuest moments before the official kickoff! FilmQuest is a brand new film festival for the Fantastic, put on by filmmakers for filmmakers. Heavily associated with FantasyCon (www.fantasycon.com), the festival celebrates all things fantasy, sci-fi, horror and beyond. A competition based festival, FilmQuest accepts submissions for features, shorts, animated films, student films, music videos, fan films, tv/web series, commercials/ads, and screenplays for shorts and features. We also have the unique open competition in FilmQuest Express, while also celebrating the future of filmmaking with two student based competitions. We are currently in talks to have the FilmQuest trophy designed by a world renowned company, and we promise the design will be breathtaking. It will surely become one of the most coveted awards on the festival circuit. As well, we are giving away a $5,000 cash prize to the Grand Prize winner, along with $2,500 for 2nd place, and $1,000 for 3rd Place. Many more prizes and awards await too. Taking place in Salt Lake City, the first edition of FilmQuest will be held the 30th of June through the 5th of July, 2014.
Craig and Ryan talk about their experience at Salt Lake Comic Con. The short of it: it was pretty wild. And super crowded. The lines were long, the costumes were great, and the booths were many. At the end, there's a FantasyCon vs ComicCon discussion, and they even philosophize for a few minutes on fan conventions in general. What a treat.
Craig and Ryan wax nostalgic (a whole 2 weeks later) about the inaugural FantasyCon in Salt Lake City. If you were there, come relive it. If you weren't, consider this the first step to getting psyched about next year! A huge thanks to FantasyCon for an awesome weekend.

We believe so much in providing the best show possible for your money that we have eliminated over 200 exhibitor booths to provide you with an arena, museum, archery range, children’s area, and more. We want our attendees to bring their families and come visit with fantasy celebrities, dress up for cosplay and live-action roleplaying, wield swords, shoot bows, enjoy shows, explore masterworks of art, eat delicious foods, and be entertained while creating memories that will last a lifetime.
