This week, our hosts Matthew Rossi and Joe Perez are tackling the absolutely massive universe of Warhammer 40,000. It's so massive that they can only scratch the surface of it in the time they have, so this is a great primer of one big facet of the setting -- The God-Emperor of Man. They cover a bit of the Horus Heresy, all the way up to the current events happening in the universe. Who is the God-Emperor of Mankind? How did he get to be stuck on the Golden Throne? Why are some of your friends always talking about skull thrones and blood gods? What are the Primarchs, and how do they affect the current events happening in the universe? These are just a few of the topics that are covered in this look at the grim dark future of humanity in the 41st millennium. It's time to say a prayer to the God-Emperor and steel your soul against the dark gods who lurk behind the universe as we dive into one of the largest and longest-running tabletop universes of all time.If you enjoy the show, please support us on Patreon, where you can get these episodes early and ad-free! From their fleet-based war machine and endless crusades, to their absolute refusal to show mercy, tolerate psykers, or even slow down, these are not your standard Space Marines. They are living weapons of faith and hatred, pushing the limits of what even the Imperium can justify.———TAGSwarhammer 40k, warhammer 40k lore, warhammer lore, 40k lore, warhammer 40,000 lore, black templars, black templars lore, black templars 40k, sigismund, sigismund 40k, eternal crusade, black templars crusade, imperial fists, imperial fists lore, dorn warhammer, rogal dorn, rogal dorn lore, space marines, space marine lore, adeptus astartes, space marine chapters, warhammer factions, 40k factions, imperium of man, emperor of mankind, horus heresy, horus heresy lore, warhammer timeline, warhammer history, grimdark, grimdark lore, gothic sci fi, dark sci fi, warhammer explained, 40k explained, lore explained, warhammer deep dive, 40k deep dive, lore breakdown, warhammer analysis, 40k analysis, warhammer theories, 40k theories, warhammer secrets, 40k secrets, hidden lore 40k, warhammer conspiracy, warhammer storytelling, warhammer youtube, lore video, warhammer community, warhammer content, warhammer creator, warhammer deep lore, black templars explained, black templars history, black templars crusade fleet, fleet based chapter 40k, codex astartes, codex astartes explained, warhammer chapters explained, 40k chapters explained, chaos space marines, traitor legions, loyalist legions, primarchs, primarch lore, abaddon the despoiler, abaddon 40k, black crusades, black crusade lore, armageddon 40k, war for armageddon, ghazghkull thraka, ghazghkull 40k, cadian gate, cadia 40k, cacodominus, warhammer aliens, 40k xenos, ork warhammer, eldar warhammer, tau warhammer, tyranids warhammer, warhammer battles, 40k battles, warhammer campaigns, 40k campaigns, warhammer galaxy, 40k galaxy, warhammer universe, 40k universe, warhammer knights, space knights 40k, crusader knights, knight templar aesthetic, grimdark future, there is only war, warhammer beginners guide, 40k beginner lore, advanced 40k lore, warhammer iceberg, 40k iceberg, warhammer discussion, 40k discussion, black templars tactics, black templars combat, black templars zealotry, imperial religion 40k, emperor god 40k, sisters of battle, adepta sororitas, grey knights, psykers 40k, anti psyker space marines, abhor the witch, black templars rules, warhammer tabletop————————————Opinions expressed in this video are solely those of Isyander & Koda and in no way reflect the views or opinions of Games Workshop Ltd.Artwork throughout this video is used for educational purposes. if you see your artwork and would like an art credit, message me.Support the show

You can read it though, just a summary of the banger of a video you're watching. The Dark Angels are easily one of the most secretive—and dangerous—forces in Warhammer 40,000. On the surface, they're noble, knightly warriors—Arthurian legends in power armor. But beneath that polished image lies a legion defined by paranoia, hidden sins, and a secret that could damn them all: the Fallen. In this deep dive, we break down the full history of the First Legion—from their brutal origins during the Unification Wars, through the rise of Lion El'Jonson, to the catastrophic events of the Horus Heresy that shattered their legacy. We explore how the Dark Angels became the Emperor's ultimate problem-solvers—wielding forbidden weapons, fighting humanity's worst enemies, and operating more like black-ops than traditional Space Marines. But the real story begins after their fall from grace. As the truth about their traitorous brothers spread across time and space, the Dark Angels became something far more complex: a legion obsessed with secrecy, redemption, and absolute control over their own narrative. Their hunt for the Fallen has shaped everything they are, pushing them to the edge of loyalty and heresy in equal measure. With the return of the Lion and major shifts in the current timeline, the Dark Angels are once again at the center of the galaxy's fate. It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor of Mankind has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. But, how did we get here? The Independent Characters - A Warhammer 40k Podcast | Radio
In Episode 270 of The Independent Characters, we bring our monumental exploration of Titans to a close by venturing beyond the Imperium to the heretical, alien, and utterly bizarre god-engines that stalk the galaxy. In this second part of our two-part series, we delve into the corrupted Chaos Titans of the Dark Mechanicum - twisted reflections of their loyalist kin whose Machine Spirits have long since merged with the daemonic will of the Warp. From Iconoclasts and Infernals to the infamous Daemon Engines of the Traitor Legios, we examine how the powers of the Warp reshape these once-holy engines into entities of madness and malice. But the galaxy's gods of war are not limited to humanity's machines. We turn our attention to the Xenos Titans, the elegant, wraithbone Aeldari Phantoms and Revenants, the ramshackle yet terrifying Ork Gargants, and even the living, bio-engineered horrors of the Tyranids that serve as their own monstrous equivalents. Each race has its own vision of what it means to command destruction on a titanic scale, and their designs reveal as much about their cultures as their weapons do about their wars. On the tabletop, we explore how these colossal war engines appear across games like Warhammer 40,000, Horus Heresy, Adeptus Titanicus, and Legions Imperialis, comparing their aesthetics, rules, and battlefield impact. Whether it's a Gargant's laughter echoing through the smoke, an Aeldari Titan striding like a ghost through reality, or a corrupted Warlord roaring praise to the Dark Gods, each represents a unique expression of power at its most absolute. The Independent Characters - A Warhammer 40k Podcast | Radio
Episode 269 of The Independent Characters strides onto the battlefield with a thunderous step as we begin a two-part exploration of the greatest war machines ever to walk the galaxy - the Titans. In this first installment, we turn our gaze to the Imperial God-Engines of the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Collegia Titanica, delving deep into their origins, traditions, and the awe-inspiring lore that surrounds them. From the Titan Legions of the Great Crusade to the battles of the 41st Millennium, we trace how these towering avatars of the Omnissiah came to symbolize the Imperium's divine right to rule through fire and steel. We discuss the classes and hierarchy of Imperial Titans - from the swift Warhound Scout Titans to the legendary Warlord and the near-mythic Imperator - and examine the sacred bond between the Princeps, Moderati, and their god-machine. These are not mere machines, but walking cathedrals of destruction, powered by faith and fury in equal measure. On the tabletop, Imperial Titans have taken many forms across Games Workshop's systems, and we look at how these behemoths are represented in Warhammer 40,000, Horus Heresy, Adeptus Titanicus, and Legions Imperialis. Whether you command a Titan Maniple in Adeptus Titanicus or field a Warlord in an Apocalypse-scale 40K battle, these engines of war have remained a constant source of fascination and terror. We also discuss the stunning models that bring them to life; each one a feat of design that captures the impossible scale and grandeur of the Imperium's god-machines. This episode marks the beginning of our most monumental topic yet, and it's only the first half of the story. In Episode 270, we'll turn our auspex toward the Xenos counterparts; the alien god-engines of the Orks, Aeldari, and beyond to see how other races of the galaxy answer the thunderous challenge of the Imperium's Titans! We hope you enjoy the show. Back in the saddle again with Dan & Dave! We start out with a Horus Heresy rules breakdown (Tactical Statuses) and then a Dragonfall Recap by two guys who didn't even play in the event...but trust me, we were out and about the entire weekend. Our main topic this go is a Sigmar rules critique and some hot takes...we hope our thoughts and rules choices create some discussion. Rest assured we still enjoy the game, just that once in a while it's good to dig down a bit and express our opinions. And most importantly, #freebrendanmelnick! Thanks as always for joining us. https://www.patreon.com/AdeptusRidiculoushttps://www.adeptusridiculous.com/https://twitter.com/AdRidiculoushttps://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousBy mid-M32, the Imperium was in a state of relative peace and prosperity. Having recovered from the devastating Horus Heresy, the Traitor Legions were still reeling from their defeat inside the Eye of Terror, Xenos were relegated to the frontiers of Imperial space, and the stagnation and decay that would define the Imperium millennia later had not yet set in. Confident that humanity had endured its greatest challenge, the Orks in particular were underestimated and judged to have been removed as a threat since the Ullanor Crusade. This underestimation of the greenskins would prove to be disastrous when an enormous Ork planetoids began to materialize around imperial worlds, the Imperial Fists Chapter was destroyed, entire Sectors were overrun by the Greenskins and billions upon billions perished.Support the show

The agents made their way toward the Jumentierre Estate, and found improvised Valkyrie fliers that would give the Crimson Brothers advantage in the fight. The area was guarded by two Hereteks and a swarm of servo skulls, so Morgan opted for a stealth approach. She sent data from a nearby cogitator to CLO53T, who confirmed that Talos Ivo was meant to be on one of the ships, but when the Judge and their seconded Arbitrators shots at the Hereteks, the servo skull swarm suddenly broke their surveillance pattern and set their sights on the agents. Send us a textIn EPISODE TWO HUNDRED THIRTEEN (213) of the "LOOK OUT, SIR! 40K" Podcast, Phil and Dan discuss what they reckon is going on with Warhammer: The Horus Heresy 3. Like, why are people actually calling the thing “Horus Heresy Three Point Oh”? Is that really its name? Why is Warhammer 40K 10th Edition just “10th Edition” and not “Warhammer 40K Ten Point Oh”?! Who out there is making these rules? Nothing's sacred, it seems. But don't worry… we're not really going to talk about anything as entertaining as the Warhammer Community's inconsistent naming conventions within our cultural zeitgeist. Instead, we're going to do what all the other entirely predictable Warhammer content creators have done - speculate about a bunch of stuff we have no real insight into, other than our own speculation and what we reckon based on basically nothing. In short, people don't seem overly thrilled with The Horus Heresy Three Point Oh (at least not the people we know or listen to) so we're going to prattle on as if our blinkered perspective reflects a general consensus. I imagine it's not going to be a popular episode; it didn't feel especially great while we were recording it. Honestly, I don't think we know nearly enough to tackle these points, but for whatever reason, we've released it anyway. ENJOY! His title of "Sigillite", meaning "seal-bearer" in an ancient Terran language, was a measure of the esteem and trust the Emperor had in Malcador, for he was empowered to speak and act in the Emperor's stead with the Emperor's full authority wherever he went.Support the show
