Tom Kuegler is a full-time vlogger, but it wasn't always this way. After graduating college and doing 20 job interviews, he got sick of trying to convince corporate America he was worth anything--so he started freelancing. Nine months after he started freelancing he began contributing to big sites like the Huffington Post and made enough money to go on a 5-month solo road trip across America. He visited 24 new states, lived in San Francisco for 2 months, and then came back home and started blogging about the lessons he learned. A year later he had 10,000 followers on Medium, started selling online courses, and said goodbye to freelancing entirely. A year after that, a video he made for Facebook went viral and received 3,000,000 views in 2 weeks. He's made 7 videos with 1,000,000+ views so far. Tom now has over 200,000 likes on his Facebook page, lives in the Philippines mostly making new vlogs, selling his courses, writing on Medium, and helping others achieve social media success and find their story.
Change is constant, and everywhere around us. Unsurprisingly, this concept also applies when building your brand. On your journey of deciding who you want to be, your interests, passions, and skillset will change. In this week's episode, I sit down and chat with Thomas Kuegler about his brand evolution from college graduate, to corporate dropout, and now a successful digital nomad. You may have caught his viral NowThis video on Facebook that detailed his road trip across the US that covered 12,000 miles, 23 states, and 141 straight days on the road. (And get this: He's once made $2,000 in 24 hours JUST. FROM. BLOGGING). Tom now earns his living by documenting his travel experience and thoughts on his vlog, Finding Tom. All of this was accomplished through building and scaling his brand online. Check out this episode and listen in to hear about: Managing life as a solopreneur How to create a successful career, even if you consider yourself a free spirit Building an email list of dedicated subscribers from scratch Organic social media growth tips Getting started (and PAID) for blogging/vlogging ...and so much more! You can connect with Tom on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and his website.

Dust and The Invaders with Tom Elliot. Prolific composer Jerry Goldsmith, began his composing career with television in 1954 with the television series The Lineup. Throughout the fifties, his resume slowly started to grow until it exploded in the sixties with over forty different productions that he would work on. One of the television shows that he would compose for in the early sixties was the cult classic called The Twilight Zone. In this episode of Melodic Treks, host Brandon-Shea Mutala is joined by Tom Elliot, host of The Twilight Zone Podcast, to discuss Goldsmith's contributions to two classic episodes from the second season of that show. We also compare the music of "The Invaders" to Bernard Herrmann's work on Psycho, as well as the effectiveness of the score in an episode that has almost no dialogue. We also talk about Goldsmith's Mexican influenced score to the episode "Dust," and the legacy of that episode. Chapters In Memorial: Richard Hatch (00:00:00) "Colonial Anthem" (composed by B.
