3-24-25: Encountering the living word of God- Fr. Zachary; SOLT by
Luke 15:1-3; 11-32 The Outrageous, Extravagant Love of the Father Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” 11 And he said, “There was a man who had two sons. 12 And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of property (OUSIA) that is coming to me.' And he divided his property (BIOS… v.30) between them. 13 Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property (OUSIA) in reckless living. 14 And when he had spent everything, a severe famine arose in that country, and he began to be in need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to[b] one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16 And he was longing to be fed with the pods that the pigs ate, and no one gave him anything. 17 “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father's hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”' 20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22 But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring quickly the best robe (PROTOS – first robe), and put it on him, and put a ring (authority - exousia) on his hand, and shoes on his feet (sonship). 23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it (sacrifice – relationships), and let us eat and celebrate. 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.' And they began to celebrate. 25 “Now his older son was in the field, and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 And he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and sound.' 28 But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him, 29 but he answered his father, ‘Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your property (bios – stuff verses ousia) with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him!' 31 And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.'”
In today's episode of Let's Talk About This, Fr. McTeigue analyzes the history of those who have created worldviews and ideologies that exclude God while attempting to enact a utopian vision. He also scrutinizes some contemporary advocates of such policies, and shows exactly where their arguments fall apart. 12/2/24 - Fr. Jonathan Romanoski, FSSP is Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Providence, Rhode Island. He was ordained in 2008. How does one practice the presence of God in a single act that does not end? The truth is, it is God who paints Himself in the depths of our soul; we must merely open our hearts to receive Him and His loving presence. We'll discuss practical ways to build our own awareness of the presence of God in our everyday worldly lives and the many benefits that doing so can bring to our spiritual lives. 11/13/24 - Fr. Stefano Gobbi was born in Dongo (province of Como, Italy) on March 22, 1930. He was ordained a priest in 1964 and belonged to the Company of Saint Paul. The focal point of his life occurred on May 8, 1972 during a pilgrimage to Fatima. While praying at the “Capelinha”, the Chapel of the Apparitions, the Virgin Mary distinctly spoke to him in the form of what Christian spiritual theology defines as “interior locutions.” Mary invited him to gather together his brother priests who would welcome the idea of consecrating themselves to Her Immaculate Heart, and of being deeply united with the Holy Father and the Church united to him. Fr. Gobbi asked Our Lady for a sign confirming this request, a sign which he received that same month at the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth. On October 13, 1972, he and two other priests launched the MMP (Marian Movement of Priests), which has spread to the five continents and has seen Fr. Gobbi travel the whole world for meetings of prayer and fraternity called “cenacles”.

11/7/24 - Today, there is more science-based evidence for God, the soul, and life after death than ever before. Then why are scores of people turning to unbelief because of “science”? The answer is simple: they do not know the science. Science at the Doorstep to God presents in depth the latest evidence to turn the rising tide of unbelief. Father Robert Spitzer, S.J., synthesizes eight recent studies confirming an intelligent creator of physical reality as well as a transphysical soul capable of surviving bodily death. This is the most comprehensive scientific treatment of God and the afterlife to date. It combines natural scientific method, metaphysical method, medical studies, anthropological and genetics studies, and phenomenological descriptions, showing how each distinct method and data set reinforces the others. 11/6/24 - Domenico da Cese was a priest and Cappuchin friar. He showed signs of a special gift from a young age, correctly predicting an impending earthquake on the day of its occurrence at the age of nine. After becoming a priest in October of 1931, he would eventually travel to San Giovanni and become a close friend of Pio of Pietrelcina, known popularly as Padre Pio. Some years later, he would have his first contact with the Shroud of the Holy Face of Manoppello, eventually committing to sharing the devotion of that Holy Face with as many people as possible.

This is one of the most special conversations I have recorded in the dozen years I have been recording. Father Sean O'Laoire lives in the unique intersection of being a PhD in transpersonal psychology along with being ordained as a Catholic priest in 1972, spending 14 years working among the Kalenjin people of East Africa. He speaks six languages, including his ancestral Gaelic tongue, replete with the myths and stories of not only the biblical texts, but the esoteric legends of magic from his native Ireland. His book Setting God Free is one of the most important books ever written on the nature of God, and in this podcast we discuss all of the things that matter most to a true catholic mystic - From Nature, to God, to Evil, Reincarnation, the truth about sin, the Buddha, and where we have misunderstood the real message of Jesus of Nazareth. I have been profoundly transformed by my conversations and interactions with him, and I have no doubt you will find him equally illuminating for your lives. | Fr. Is God's will for me to be sad?Fr. Ciszek's teaching on finding God in the present momentHow you can find healing in seeking God in the present momentHere is the text of Fr. Ciszek's prayer:Prayer of SurrenderLord Jesus Christ, I ask the grace to accept the sadness in my heart, as your will for me, in this moment. I offer it up, in union with your sufferings, for those who are in deepest need of your redeeming grace. I surrender myself to your Father's will and I ask you to help me to move on to the next task that you have set for me.Spirit of Christ, help me to enter into a deeper union with you. Lead me away from dwelling on the hurt I feel:to thoughts of charity for those who need my love,to thoughts of compassion for those who need my care, andto thoughts of giving to those who need my help.As I give myself to you, help me to provide for the salvation of those who come to me in need.May I find my healing in this giving.May I always accept God's will.May I find my true self by living for others in a spirit of sacrifice and suffering.May I die more fully to myself and live more fully in you.As I seek to surrender to the Father's will, may I come to trust that he will do everything for me.To learn more about Fr.
