Our heart is to establish a Dwelling Place—not just a good church. The difference between a good church and a Dwelling Place is who it's built for. A good church is built for people to gather. A Dwelling Place is built for God to come and remain. It's all about His Presence. We choose faithfulness to His promise. Faithfulness to His Presence. Faithfulness to His heart. Faithfulness to His house. We are prioritizing His heart, His Presence, and His voice. We are prioritizing His glory, His beauty, and intimacy with Him. We don't do this to become His Dwelling Place— We do it because we already are.
Today on The Dwelling Place, pastor Al Pittman takes us to First Thessalonians, chapter four, to give us some practical insight into some basic do's and don'ts of the faith. I invite you to follow along in your Bible, as we join Pastor Al for a message titled, “Brotherly Love”. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1425/29

In this episode, Caleb is joined by Greg Beale (PhD, Cambridge) Professor of New Testament and Biblical Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Dallas, to discuss a biblical theology of the temple. Together they trace this theme from Genesis to Revelation, creation to new creation, pointing out its significance for the people of God and their mission as the church.Resources: The Temple and the Church's Mission: A Biblical Theology of the Dwelling Place of God by Greg BealeGod Dwells Among Us: A Biblical Theology of the Temple by Greg Beale and Mitch KimThe Temple (concise essay) by Greg Beal and Mitch KimThe Tabernacle Pre-Figured: Cosmic Mountain Ideology in Genesis by Michael Morales

Pastor Kim preaches about our longing to take up residence with God. God desires intimacy with us, which is why we see Him dwelling in the midst of His people throughout scripture. God's desire to dwell among us is most prominently displayed through the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. Despite our need to be with God, it's possible to live our entire lives missing this connection - continually chasing things which never satisfy. Kim explains how God doesn't merely invite us in, He actually moves in Himself and dwells within us. His presence isn't just around us, it is also within us.

THE WAYPOINT OF OUR JOURNEY If you are a hiker like me there are times you are hiking on a trail and come across something special. It might be a great look out on a high hill or a beautiful pond or a rock structure that has a unique shape. It might be so cool you want to remember it, you want to make it a WAYPOINT. If you do a search on the internet you might come up with the following description generated by AI of a WAYPOINT ... In the context of hiking, a waypoint is a specific point of interest that you can mark on a map or in your GPS device, often used to track progress and navigate trails. These can be anything from a landmark to a campsite, water source, or a turning point. This podcast Bible study on Exod. 25:1-8 is a WAYPOINT for our journey through Exodus. It is a significant and critical set of verses that mark the rest of the "trail" to be of major importance. Because now יהוה Yahvay, the LORD, works with Moses to give him the details to make יהוה Yahvay a TABERNACLE and the LORD with thus dwell among His people. Image - permission to use - FreeBibleImages.org We're going to find however, that the word TABERNACLE is not Hebrew nor Greek nor English. It's Latin. What is a Latin word doing here? So what does this word mean and why does it "hide" a more awesome way of looking at God's dwelling place? And we will also find that "dwell" is not a good translation from the Hebrew in the phrase in Exod. 25:8 that יהוה Yahvay will dwell among His people.. In the Hebrew it means something that we don't see - it means more than dwell - and when we see it this provides an expanded and enriched understanding of God among us. On top of that we'll see that these verses testify of Yeshua, our Bridegroom, who came to "dwell" among us and with us and in us (John 14:20). The Greek word translated as "dwell" in John 1:14 also translates the Hebrew word that is translated as "dwell" in Exod. 25:8. Does this provide the connection? What is going on? You won't believe it! Rev. Ferret - who is this guy? (John & Robin somewhere in the Middle East) What's his background? Why should I listen to him? Today on The Dwelling Place, we'll again look at the relationship between Old Testament Law, and the Grace of Jesus Christ. This is not to imply that God's law is obsolete, but we must integrate our adherence to the Law, with our understanding that we've been sanctified and set apart through our relationship with Jesus Christ. Today on The Dwelling Place, we continue through Colossians, and we're going to examine the relationship between living under the law and living under the Grace of Jesus Christ. The law exists for a purpose, but too many Christians today are hung up on ritual and laws. That's exactly what Paul addresses in the section of Colossians we'll look at today. To know Jesus and His attributes is to realize that there no reason to follow any other path but the path that takes you to Him. He paid the full price for our sins, and the rewards of living a life pleasing to Him, and accepting Him as your savior are almost impossible to put into words. We've just begun a study of Colossians chapter two, so turn there in your Bible and join us for today's edition of The Dwelling Place. Speaker: Minoru Chen;Source: USA:Our brother Minoru helped us to see that there is a never-aging life (1 Peter 1:23) in us believers. For the senior saints it is even appropriate using Psalm 92:14 as a basis to be referred to as “evergreen saints.” We saw how useful and precious Simeon and Anna were, as elderly saints, in ushering in Christ in His first coming. Both started in the Old Testament but finished their courses in the New Testament—truly real age changers. These two were not waning in their latter years but rather they ended at the high noon time of their Christian life!As seniors we have more time (but we must learn to redeem it and not waste it) to get into the Word and ministry, to pray, to attend the meetings, and to especially shepherd others. The Lord and His church needs the senior saints to use their time to go deeper into God for His Body's sake.Brother Minoru was only able to finish the first outline out of the three that were prepared. So, indications are that there may be future times to cover the remaining two outlines. He did speak at length on Psalms 90, 91, and 92 during the conference and asked all the attendees to read and get into these three Psalms. Below are helpful references to assist in doing just that. Dear saints, this is an opportunity for us to redeem our time and go deeper into God.A good summary of Brother Lee's ministry on Psalms 90 through 92 is Message 4 of the Crystallization-study of the Psalms (2) (the second training), entitled “The Highest and Fullest Experience of God—Taking God as Our Habitation, Our Eternal Dwelling Place.” Other recommended resources for getting into Psalms 90 through 92 are:Week 16 of the HWMR on the Crystallization-study of the Psalms (2), vol. 1Christ and the Church Revealed and Typified in the Psalms, ch. 16, “One with God in His Dwelling Place”Life-study of the Psalms, msg. 35, “The Saints' Deeper Experience of God in the Identification with Christ”As a final practical reminder—may we senior saints become simpler in our living so that we can redeem our precious limited days to go deeper into God.

Dennis Hotchkiss - February 16, 2025
This Sunday, Pastor Candace shared her talk entitled, "The Dwelling Place".There are callings that we long to step into, people we long to be, and things that we've been praying for, to come to pass. A key part of us growing into all of this is being full of the Spirit of God, growing our understanding of God's heart for us, and learning to walk with Him.From the garden to the grave, God's heart was always to be with us, and it's important for us to understand the context for Him putting His Spirit in us. In the new testament Jesus steps on the human scene and is the fulfillment of what was prophesied. He paid the ultimate price of giving His life to reconcile us to God. INCREDIBLE!In all His extravagant love, He didn't stop by just coming to be with us (Immanuel), but He also came to dwell in us!Where we choose to live is a big thing. We get to choose what our favorite location is for our house (if we love living by the ocean or in the mountains). We all have ideas of what our dream home looks like. The most lovely and humbling thing is that the God of all the universe who can make His home anywhere, loves us so much that He chooses us to reside and dwell in us. This love and desire is the foundation of us having His Spirit inside of us.Jesus speaks of this in John 14:15-17 NIV“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.We were God's dream dwelling place and where He wants His Spirit to resideFor more info, you can go to our website, check us out on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube.
