I LOVE camping! I bet you like to go camping too! The children of Israel were "camping" in the wilderness and God wanted to not just lead them by the pillar of cloud/fire, but He wanted to dwell with them. He wanted to LIVE among them. So God gave Moses some plans to build a sanctuary that He could dwell among them. We are going to learn more about this special house for God and the meaning of the daily rituals the priests were to carry out. Pastor Jason's sermon on Psalm 26 addresses the challenging prayer of David seeking vindication based on his integrity - not sinless perfection, but a genuine heart distinct from hypocrites. For believers, this prayer is possible only through Christ, our righteousness, who perfectly fulfilled it. The Psalm reveals Jesus' heart, a true worshiper's conduct, and offers conviction, comfort, and assurance, especially against slander and false accusations. David demonstrated integrity by focusing on God's steadfast love, separating from wickedness, and loving God's dwelling place through worship. Ultimately, David sought gracious redemption from God, not his own righteousness, emphasizing God's faithfulness. Christians find vindication solely in Jesus Christ. I. Pleading for Vindication (vv. 1-3) II. Living Separate from Wickedness (vv. 4-5) III. Worshiping in Pure Devotion (vv. 6-7) IV. Loving God's Dwelling Place (vv. 8-10) V. Confidently Seeking Gracious Redemption (vv. 11-12)

We'll take a peek into the Christian's wardrobe today on The Dwelling Place, and see what we are to wear! Pastor Al Pittman is leading us on a journey through Colossians right now, and we have reached the middle of chapter three. Fortunately for us, our Lord cares enough about us to lay out our clothes in Scripture, so we know what to put on. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1425/29

In this episode, we step into 2 Chronicles 6–7 where Solomon responds to God's faithfulness with worship, humility, and a heartfelt prayer for the people of Israel. As the Temple is dedicated and filled with God's glory, we see how the Temple itself points forward to something greater: God's eternal presence with His people.Themes of this podcast: God's faithfulness invites our worship and dependence. God has fulfilled His promises—from dwelling among His people to establishing the Temple and Solomon's reign. In response, Solomon bows in worship, recognizing that God alone is the source of every good thing. Remembering God's faithfulness will naturally lead us to humility, gratitude, and trust.Prayer and repentance sustain the covenant relationship. Whether facing personal injustice, national defeat, or exile, the Israelites are invited to return to God through repentance. This foreshadows the New Covenant truth that God always hears the cries of a repentant heart. This earthly Temple foreshadow God's eternal presence. The Temple dedication was glorious, but even Solomon acknowledged God cannot be contained in buildings. From the Tabernacle to the Temple to the Church, every dwelling place of God points forward to His ultimate plan: our eternal home with Him.Show Notes:BlogFeasts and Festivals in the BibleWe love feedback, but can't reply without your email address. This Session was organised by the School of Knowing and Serving God in Koume. From 20th to 27th of June 2025.
Today on The Dwelling Place, pastor Al Pittman begins a new series in the book of Acts. You'll find Acts right after John's gospel, and that's a very appropriate place to find it, because many bible scholars refer to Acts as “the fifth gospel”. The star of the shows to speak, is the Holy Spirit. He descends on the church in chapter two, and for the rest of the twenty-eight chapters, we see Him at work in the lives of great men like Peter, and Paul. God transforms our lives by His Holy Spirit. He makes us what we ought to be – more loving and joyful. We'll learn how it happens today on The Dwelling Place. We've come in our study of Galatians to chapter five verses sixteen through eighteen To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1425/29
In this message, Andrew explores Exodus 25–27, revealing how God's detailed instructions for the tabernacle reflect His desire to dwell intimately among His people. The tabernacle was more than a tent; it was a portable Eden, a sacred space where heaven and earth touched, designed not only for God's glory but for the transformation of His people. Each element, from the Ark of the Covenant to the lampstand, pointed to God's invitation for communion, beauty, and daily faithfulness. Andrew draws a line from this ancient dwelling place to Jesus, the true atonement cover, who makes relationship with God fully accessible. The call now is for God's people to consecrate their whole lives—not just religious spaces—as dwelling places for His presence. Holiness isn't about legalism but about becoming the kind of people who can host God's glory, preparing both individually and as a community to reflect His love and advance His kingdom in a world desperate for redemption.
There are obsolete laws everywhere, and today on The Dwelling Place, we'll again look at the relationship between Old Testament Law, and the Grace of Jesus Christ. This is not to imply that God's law is obsolete, but we must integrate our adherence to the Law, with our understanding that we've been sanctified and set apart through our relationship with Jesus Christ. From Genesis to today, God's plan has always been to dwell with His people. Through Jesus, that presence now lives in you. You are a living temple, called to carry His Spirit and reflect His glory wherever you go. Recorded Live at Brookwood Church on 06/15/2025
oday on The Dwelling Place, we continue through Colossians, and we're going to examine the relationship between living under the law and living under the Grace of Jesus Christ. The law exists for a purpose, but too many Christians today are hung up on ritual and laws. That's exactly what Paul addresses in the section of Colossians we'll look at today. The law of God has no power to prevent sin - or redeem the sinner. Only grace can do that. That's our theme on today's The Dwelling Place with pastor Al Pittman. The churches in Galatia had been deceived by false teachers, who had convinced them that they could be saved by works rather than grace. Let's head over to Galatians chapter three and find out what the Apostle Paul had to say on this important issue. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1425/29

We all need someone in our lives who is not afraid to “tell it like it is”. The Galatians had a friend like that, and his name was Paul. We'll see just what he had to say to the Galatians today on The Dwelling Place. Pastor Al Pittman is taking us through this challenging epistle, and we can see that the Galatians were much like many Christians today – they thought they needed to add something to their faith in order to please God and get to heaven. Our heart is to establish a Dwelling Place—not just a good church. The difference between a good church and a Dwelling Place is who it's built for. A good church is built for people to gather. A Dwelling Place is built for God to come and remain. It's all about His Presence. We choose faithfulness to His promise. Faithfulness to His Presence. Faithfulness to His heart. Faithfulness to His house. We are prioritizing His heart, His Presence, and His voice. We are prioritizing His glory, His beauty, and intimacy with Him. We don't do this to become His Dwelling Place— We do it because we already are.
Today on The Dwelling Place, pastor Al Pittman takes us to First Thessalonians, chapter four, to give us some practical insight into some basic do's and don'ts of the faith. I invite you to follow along in your Bible, as we join Pastor Al for a message titled, “Brotherly Love”. To support this ministry financially, visit: https://www.oneplace.com/donate/1425/29

In this episode, Caleb is joined by Greg Beale (PhD, Cambridge) Professor of New Testament and Biblical Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Dallas, to discuss a biblical theology of the temple. Together they trace this theme from Genesis to Revelation, creation to new creation, pointing out its significance for the people of God and their mission as the church.Resources: The Temple and the Church's Mission: A Biblical Theology of the Dwelling Place of God by Greg BealeGod Dwells Among Us: A Biblical Theology of the Temple by Greg Beale and Mitch KimThe Temple (concise essay) by Greg Beal and Mitch KimThe Tabernacle Pre-Figured: Cosmic Mountain Ideology in Genesis by Michael Morales
Pastor Kim preaches about our longing to take up residence with God. God desires intimacy with us, which is why we see Him dwelling in the midst of His people throughout scripture. God's desire to dwell among us is most prominently displayed through the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. Despite our need to be with God, it's possible to live our entire lives missing this connection - continually chasing things which never satisfy. Kim explains how God doesn't merely invite us in, He actually moves in Himself and dwells within us. His presence isn't just around us, it is also within us.
