In this lecture, Don Carson examines Jesus's cleansing of the temple in John 2:13–25, which symbolized his role as the ultimate meeting place between God and humanity. Carson explores the historical and theological context of Jesus's actions, contrasting the old and new covenants. He also highlights Jesus as the final temple in Revelation, calling Christians to a God-centered approach to life and worship. He teaches the following:Jerusalem's unique role in Jewish historyThe temple's historical and cultural significanceHow the Gospel accounts of this event support its historical accuracyTwo important lessons from Jesus's cleansing of the templeJesus's claims about himself require a response of worship and faithJesus is the fulfillment of various Old Testament types and symbolsThe Gospels' primary purpose to reveal Jesus and call people to faithWhy Jesus as the temple has implications for how Christians live and worship today
Tim tells us how 1 Corinthians reminds us that we are the temple.
In this episode, Dr. Nathaniel Wilson discusses the Bible's view of the individual believer, with an emphasis on the believer as the temple of God.
In this message, we're reminded of our sacred role as temples of the Holy Spirit. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 3, we explore how our bodies and souls are intricately connected in God's divine plan. Just as the ancient temple in Jerusalem was a dwelling place for God's presence, we now carry that presence within us. This truth challenges us to reconsider how we treat our bodies and live our lives. Are we truly honoring God with every aspect of our being? The message urges us to reject the 'foolishness of this age' - worldly philosophies that disconnect our physical actions from spiritual consequences. Instead, we're called to embrace a holistic view of our existence, recognizing that every choice we make impacts our relationship with God and others. As we navigate a world full of deceptive ideologies, let's cling to the transformative power of the gospel, allowing it to shape not just our beliefs, but our actions and lifestyles as well.
Today, we examine how Jesus healed two men that were paralyzed. We compare the healing found in Mark chapter 2 and the healing found in John chapter 5:1-14. In both cases, the healing began with Jesus forgiving the sins of both men. The purpose of these miracles was to restore what both men lacked. As it turns out Jesus is the conduit to our need. Scripture promises that if we place our focus on God and his ways that he will take care of all our other needs.
ye are the temple of God“The Spirit of God dwelleth in you . . . which temple ye are” When a person is saved, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in that person. This gives many blessings to the believer and makes the believer a spiritual temple of God. There are those who are or have been indwelt by unholy spirits or demons as they are often called. These demons cause all sorts of trouble for the one they indwell. But in contrast the Holy Spirit is nothing but blessing to the believer.Thank you for tuning into Daily Bible Benefits Have a good and godly Day

2 Thessalonians charges out of the gate by discussing two of the scariest subjects in Scripture: hell and the antichrist. Both of these frightening subjects carry a message of hope for the church experiencing a sampling of hell and antichrist-like figures.

In this episode you will hear from one of staff pastors, Sherry Thompson. This message is meant to be encouraging and challenging. We pray it does just that!
Take a moment to consider what it means to have the Spirit of God dwell with us, in us! It is an immense concept and truth. Our belief in Jesus as God's Son, God's deposit of His Spirit in us to protect and seal us as His own, creates a bond, a preservation of holiness within us and with Him. May we honor our relationship with God's grace and love toward us. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. The idea of a third temple in future prophecy is a topic of great interest and debate among theologians and Bible scholars. Both 2 Thessalonians 2 and Ezekiel 40–48 are often cited in discussions regarding constructing a third temple, particularly in the context of end-times events. Let's explore what these passages teach and how or if they relate to a third temple. *****Support This Channel*****Paypal: https://paypal.me/jimivision?locale.x=en_USMonthly Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/JimivisionCash App: https://cash.app/$JimivisionVenmo: https://venmo.com/Jimmy-Cooper-17 Contact KenEmail: askbible4family@gmail.com Phone: 401-47-BIBLE https://www.bible4.family Mail To:Jimmy CooperJimivision MediaP.O. The Lord gives us a picture of the church as the house of God. The house of God is built on the chief cornerstone Jesus Christ and the foundation of the scriptures written by the apostles and prophets. The house is built up of lively stones unified together by the Holy Spirit. And then, inside […]
The restoration of the breach between Adam and YHVH required a willing and innocent sacrifice to restore communication and relationship. This bridge (atonement) was built by the faith and obedience of Jesus Christ (our example). Jesus said, "I always obey the Father." The success of Jesus allowed the presence of God to be moved from Herod's stone temple to the hearts of obedient men. This was an expected result of the coming Messiah – no longer would the sacrifices and temple services be required. Messiah, our High Priest, reigns in us!***Chapter 100: Jesus Once More Speaks Of His Death And ResurrectionJohn 12:20-50CERTAIN GREEKS had had arrived at Jerusalem for the feast days. They went to Phillip of Bethsaida in Galilee, saying: “Sir, we would see Jesus.” Phillip told Andrew of the request and both Phillip and Andrew went to Jesus with the message. Jesus replied: “The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, ‘Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone.'But if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be. If any man serve me, him will my Father honor. Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour; but for this cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name.” Then a voice from Heaven was heard, saying: “I HAVE BOTH GLORIFIED IT, AND WILL GLORIFY IT AGAIN.” Some of the people who heard the voice said it thundered. Others said: “An angel spake to him.” Jesus answered, saying: “This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. Now is the judgment of this world. Now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” Thus Jesus signified how he was to die. The people asked him: “We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth forever. And how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up?' Who is this Son of man?” Jesus replied to the people: “Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you; for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.” When he finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from the multitude. Even though he had done so many miracles before their very eyes, still they did not believe in him. Thus was the prophecy of Isaiah fulfilled, that which said: “Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed? He hath blinded their eyes and hardened their...

In Revelation 11:1-2 Ezekiel is told to measure the temple. The inner parts of the temple represent where God has communion with his people. This represents the blessings of the people of God in the presence of God during the time between the first and second coming of Christ. During this same time, however, the outer courts are given over to the Gentiles to be trampled. We are told, therefore, that the church is both blessed in the presence of God, but that there will always be suffering and persecution in this life.

You won't want to miss this episode as Nate and Gabe dig into practical aspects of how we become “a house of prayer.” As we allow the Word of God to renew our minds and change our hearts, our “temples” are cleansed. As we give ourselves wholly to the Lord and allow Him to deal with anything that would hinder us, we will begin to live and operate as houses of prayer!God's heart is that every believer becomes the place where His presence can dwell and flow through - a house of prayer! This starts first by cultivating a personal relationship with Jesus in which the Holy Spirit has unhindered control. Secondly, we then join other believers to make up a corporate place of prayer that God's Spirit can flow through and His will be accomplished. When the hearts and minds of God's people are joined together in prayer, God is unlimited at what He can accomplish in and through them!Want to go deeper in studying this command of Christ? Why did Jesus come in and so abruptly cleanse the temple? The purpose of the temple was to be a place of fellowship and communion with God. Jesus came in and cleansed out the things that were in competition with that! He eliminated the competition for the purpose of communion with God. He desires to cleanse out the competition in our individual lives as well. He wants to rid us of the things that distract us so that we can experience unhindered fellowship with Him.God's heart is that every believer becomes the place where His presence can dwell and flow through - a house of prayer! Today's Scripture reading: Ephesians 2.19-22 (MSG)
What is a house of prayer? It is a place of fellowship, communication and intimacy with God. God desired that His physical temple be a place of communion with Himself, a place where He could fellowship with man. However God's desire from the beginning has not just been to dwell with man, but also to dwell in man! He desires that we as believers be a place of communication, fellowship and intimacy with God - i.e., houses of prayer.God's heart is that every believer becomes the place where His presence can dwell and flow through - a house of prayer! Fr. Mike recalls Hezekiah's prayer for more time and reveals how Hezekiah did not use that time wisely. We all are only given a specific amount of time on this earth, and it's up to us to use that time to become more like Christ, so we can spend eternity with him in heaven.
