Star Jeffrey Wright Teases a More Involved Watcher https://www.cbr.com/what-if-jeffrey-wright-watchers-involvement The latest episode of What If...? sees The Watcher finally talk to one of the characters on the show, as Doctor Strange Supreme detects the being's presence and calls out to him for help. For Wright, the episode was a powerful one and may tease an upcoming breaking point for the multiversal observer. "In this instance, it speaks to Strange's mystical powers too, that he perceives him there. So there's two sides to that, but also yes, The Watcher is compelled by the danger that Strange is conjuring, obviously not only for himself but for his whole reality," Wright said "For The Watcher, there's only so much he can only watch. He's not a voyeur for voyeurism's sake, he is in some ways made up of these characters. Without them, what does he watch? [Laughs] He's profoundly compelled by them, and maybe there's only so much he can take. We'll see." Moon Knight: Mark Ruffalo Plays Coy About Theorized Hulk Appearance https://www.cbr.com/moon-knight-hulk-appearance-mark-ruffalo-plays-coy Despite a recent fan theory that the Hulk will make a guest appearance on Disney+'s upcoming Moon Knight series, veteran Bruce Banner actor Mark Ruffalo is remaining tight-lipped about whether or not he'll show up in it. On his Twitter account, Ruffalo gave a self-deprecating response to an article discussing said appearance from the Jade Giant on the show, throwing shade at his own tendency to spoil major Marvel Cinematic Universe events. "As the person who's responsible for this next phase of the MCU, I would hate to spoil something," Ruffalo tweeted. "I have learned the hard way." Marvel's Hawkeye TV series on Disney+ will explore the MCU at Christmas. https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/marvel-hawkeye-tv-series-is-a-christmas-show/ According to Hawkeye executive producer Trin Tranh, the series is “grounded and funny, packed to the brim with Christmas spirit.” Tranh's remarks come from the latest issue of TV Guide, in which she sheds a little light on both the setting and flavor of the next MCU live action show. While we've already glimpsed the MCU at Christmastime in Iron Man 3, this will be the first holiday season we spend there after the events of Avengers: Endgame. In other words, it will be the first time we see how the citizens of the MCU are enjoying the holidays after they've been reunited with many relatives who had been “snapped” away by Thanos at the climax of Avengers: Infinity War. In 2008, the release of "Iron Man" shocked the world and put the MCU on the map...and a month later "The Incredible Hulk" came out, but Marvel would almost rather you forgot that it did! RYAN O'TOOLE (Finally Watched It w/Ryan O'Toole) joins to talk about the forgotten Marvel movie for the Jade Giant!
The dynamic duo of Robbie Landis and Ben Morse is back once again for another episode of the Other Identity. The Other Identity is a podcast about exploring the culture created by comic books. This week Robbie and Ben talk about how Batman is the least interesting of the Bat-Family. Plus Robbie prepares to read Marvel's Secret Empire. They discuss what makes the Hulk the Hulk. What are his greatest strengths as a character and how has the Immortal Hulk redefined the character. This Weeks Reading Each Week on the Other Identity Robbie and Ben talk about what they're currently reading. Ben just wrapped up the Night of the Monster Men Arc in Batman, Nightwing, and Detective Comics and had a revelation. He thinks that out of all of the Bat-Family, Batman is actually the least interesting of them. Robbie agrees but points out that each Bat-Family member relies on Bruce and Batman in some way to push their own stories forward. After putting out a poll on social media, Robbie has decided to read through Marvel's Secret Empire arc. However, he's somewhat daunted by the nearly 300-page Prelude book. The Immortal Hulk The main topic of this week's episode is the Jade Giant himself, the Hulk. Robbie and Ben spend some time discussing the strengths (not literally) of the character. Why he works or doesn't work as a hero and the best way to present Bruce Banner and his green alter ego, be it on the page or on the big screen. They eventually come to the current run of the Immortal Hulk by Al Ewing. Ben explains what makes this series so great and how it manages to seamlessly roll in and explain years of Hulk cannon while also expanding and exploring new lore for the Hulk. Robbie compares what Ewing has done with the Immortal Hulk to what Geoff Johns did with the Lantern Corp when he introduced the color spectrum.
In this episode, Nate and Will take a look back at the original heavy hitters of MCP, Hulk and MODOK. They guys take a look at where these characters were when the game first dropped and how they have evolved since. Is the Jade Giant better or worse? Does MODOK have a future with the new Black Order being so big? Those answers and more are inside.
