There's arguably no superhero in existence that has been reimagined, redefined, or reinterpreted more than Batman. No matter how many times he's been rebooted, audiences are always willing to come back to Gotham City's greatest defender. With so much Bat content out there, there's plenty to dissect, analyze, and of course, rank! This podcast is dedicated to a surgical evaluation of Batman's history, with a focus on ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other classic Bat themes and characters.Join hosts Daniel Cohen, Pop Break's former Film Editor, and Kris Ingersoll, co-host of the Media/Lit podcast, as they bring on several guests every month to share their passion for the one and only Dark Knight. From Adam West to Robert Pattinson, no bat stone will be left unturned. Bottom-line: If you're a Batman fan, this is required listening.Robins and Alfreds and Gordons…Oh my! Oh yes, it's our third ever Draft episode! In our last draft, it was villains. This time, it's allies. Welcome to the Ultimate Batman Allies Draft! Along with Daniel and Kris, the Director of Podcasting for the Pop Break, Alex Marcus, is here to once again devise another spectacular, gut-wrenching Batman draft. In this one, we're perusing all of Batman's most trusted partners in his war against crime. Whether it's the Bat Family, Justice League, or even a former foe turned ally, we're covering all the bases, spanning allies from film, TV, and comic books. As this is a huge Draft episode, the Bat Cave is once again expanded. The trio is joined by return guests Perry Constantine of the Superhero Cinephiles Podcasts, and Kris's co-host from the Media/Lit Podcast, as well as the Pod of Doom podcast on Black Sabbath at the pop break, and notorious Draft villain, Randy Allain! And making his debut on the podcast is pop break contributor, Ben Murchison! It's another emotional and draining draft as everyone tries to navigate some particularly tough categories, as we go deeper into the comic book world for some true deep cuts. If you're a diehard Batman comics fan, you'll love this episode! There's plenty of draft heart break in this one. Will Randy play the role of draft villain once again? Will The Dark Knight Rises be dissected for the 900th time on this podcast? Who goes #1? Who doesn't get drafted?Just like our other drafts, this is required listening for Batman fans!

In this episode of SuperHero Homies, we dive deep into the absolute madness that is Batman Ninja vs Yakuza League. This sequel takes everything from the original Batman Ninja and cranks it up to an absurd level—giant mech battles, outrageous fight scenes, and a storyline that defies all logic. And we're here to break it all down! We analyze the bizarre plot, the over-the-top character motives, and the unique anime-inspired animation style. How do Batman, the Bat-Family, and the Yakuza League stack up in this outrageous reimagining of Gotham's greatest heroes and villains? Does this sequel go too far, or is it the perfect kind of ridiculous? Most importantly, we have a blast roasting the wildest moments in this movie! If you love Batman, DC Comics, anime-inspired superhero stories, or just want to hear us hilariously unpack this cinematic fever dream, this is the review for you!

Oh Come, All Ye Goosebuddies! Your hosts Chad Quandt, Paul Ritchey, and Kevin Cole revisit two 90s cartoon holiday episodes. First we check out ABC's Recess's politically correct 'Yes, Mikey, Santa Does Shave' guest starring James Earl Jones and Michael McKean in which Chad's cartoon proxy Mikey challenges 3rd Street to prove Santa is real. We then shift to the more subversive with Nickelodeon's Rocko's Modern Life's holiday episode 'Can't Squeeze Cheer From a Cheese Log!' otherwise known as Rocko's Modern Christmas. Rocko's hoping friends come by for the holidays, including some mysterious elves next door. Is Santa dead? Are Elves keeping the legend alive like the Bat Family does in Batman's absence? Unsure, but a cloud poops snow and Mr. Bigfoot gets capped in the knee. Pretty good. We also talk about Sonic the Hedgehog canon and Chad's love for the female southern brawler archetype. Enjoy and happy holidays! They also wonder if Earl is a typical mechanic and taking Batman for all he's worth. Our hosts also cast Earl Cooper in their live action fan-casted universe, but need your help to decide who it should be (see poll on Instagram or Spotify)! In this week's packed episode, the boys discuss what the Bat family would look like in the 1989 Michael Keaton Batman universe. Having witnessed his parents' brutal murder as a child, millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton) fights crime in Gotham City disguised as Batman, a costumed hero who strikes fear into the hearts of villains. But when a deformed madman who calls himself The Joker (Jack Nicholson) seizes control of Gotham's criminal underworld, Batman must face his most ruthless nemesis ever while protecting both his identity and his love interest, reporter Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger). (00:00:00) The Geek Matrix reviews DC's Weekly Comics Releases This week, that's: (00:53:23) #AbsolutePowerTaskForceVII 6 (01:04:40) #BatmanAndRobin 13 (01:15:35) #Shazam 15 (01:37:36) #GreenLantern 15 Plus, our Honorable Mentions covered each week by Josh! Here's the run down – Primer: Clashing Colors #3 – reading this series has actually made me want Primer in the main universe alongside the Titans. It's for younger readers, but this is pretty good. 8/10 Nightwing: Uncovered #1 – a collection of covers with a little story from Dick, Babs, and Hailey explaining why we're looking at covers. 9/10 DC vs. Vampires: World War V #2 – Will I ever get Vampires fatigue? I can't tell. I don't have it yet. Good stuff. Really good stuff. 8/10 Batman '89: Echoes #4 – I bet Rob still isn't reading this, and it's still a mistake. From the DC Vault: Death in the Family - Robin Lives #3 – For something that I was pretty sure was going to stink to the mountaintops, I'm actually really impressed with this series. It feels like your back in that time period and the story has really done well. I would have easily enjoyed it if this was the story we got… but then we wouldn't have a Red Hood, sooooo…. Anyway, this is good stuff, 8/10 Batman: Gotham by Gaslight - The Kryptonian Age #4 – This book is buts. In a very good way. What they did with the Lantern… so cool. And so many questions. Gimme more of this book. 8.5/10 #DCAllIn #ComicsAreForEveryone #ComicsAreGreat #MakeComicsGreatAgain #AbsolutePower #DCComics #comics #comicbooks #GeekMatrix #TheGeekMatrix #TGM #GeekMatrixPod --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thegeekmatrixcomics/support

This podcast is dedicated to a surgical evaluation of Batman's history, with a focus on ranking several topics in the world of Batman, among other classic Bat themes and characters. Join host Daniel Cohen, Pop Break's former Film Editor and Resident Bat-Maven, as he brings on several guests every month to share his passion for the one and only Dark Knight. From Adam West to Robert Pattinson, no bat stone will be left unturned. Bottom-line: If you're a Batman fan, this is required listening. It seems like only yesterday the Batman by the Numbers crew was arguing over which was better; Batman & Robin or BvS. That was our very first episode, as we ranked all the Batman movies. That was two years ago. And just like the Batman franchise, we're still going strong! Welcome to our big TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY episode! And boy, do we have a big one. Even Two-Face would approve. In the spirit of Fantasy Football draft season, Daniel wanted to combine his two favorite hobbies; Batman and Drafting. That's right. We did the DEFINITIVE BATMAN DRAFT! Daniel is joined by his first two co-hosts from the pilot episode, Podcast Director of the Pop Break, Alex Marcus, and Pop Break Editor-in-Chief Bill Bodkin to draft the Definitive Batman team. But what fun is a draft with only three people?? Daniel moved some of the batmobiles, bat planes, and bat boats to make room in the Batcave for five other all-star guests! Making a return to the podcast, we have Perry Constantine (from the Long Halloween episode), DJ Chapman (from the epic Nolan rankings episode and infamous Batman Trailer Rankings episode), and Aaron Sarnecky (The Dark Knight 15th Anniversary episode). Also, making their Batman by the Numbers debuts, and throwing them right into the fire on this big episode, we have Randy Allain and Kris Ingersoll, both of the Media/Lit podcast! So, what is the Definitive Batman Draft? Well, we don't want to give everything away, but the crew will essentially draft 10 categories; Film. Batman Actor. Comic Story. TV Series. Bat Family member. Two villains. Bat Song. Best Scene from a Batman movie. And…a wild card category! What is the wild card category? Well, you'll have to listen to find out. With all these eclectic categories, it's no doubt this is the DEFINITIVE BATMAN DRAFT! And if you're worried it's just going to be a flurry of Dark Knight picks, don't worry – we've created some special rules for some of these categories to make the draft more challenging and interesting! We thank you for listening to this podcast for two years, and we hope you have as much fun listening to this episode as we did recording it! And if for nothing else, it's worth listening to as Daniel gets a pick stolen from him towards the end of the draft and has an emotional breakdown, so there you go.
The Huntress Podcast is back to talk about Helena Bertinelli, making her way out of the twists and turns of Shadows of the Bat, a story where the The Huntress finds herself voluntarily stuck in an institution that was promised to be helpful, painless and safe. Prime Video has just unveiled that Hamish Linklater will be the new voice of Batman in the highly anticipated animated series, "Batman: Caped Crusader." Fans got their first taste of his portrayal in a new clip released today, showcasing his take on the iconic Dark Knight. This new series is a continuation of the beloved Bruce Timm and Paul Dini animated series, which set the standard for Batman animations. With the passing of Kevin Conroy, who had become the definitive voice of Batman since "Batman: The Animated Series," there was a significant void to fill. Hamish Linklater steps into this role with a deep understanding of the legacy and expectations that come with it. Series creators J.J. Abrams, Bruce Timm, and Matt Reeves are thrilled to return to Gotham City. "We are beyond excited to be working together to bring this character back, to tell engrossing new stories in Gotham City," Timm, Abrams, and Reeves stated. "The series will be thrilling, cinematic, and evocative of Batman's noir roots, while diving deeper into the psychology of these iconic characters. We cannot wait to share this new world." Prime Video is equally enthusiastic about hosting this revival series. Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios, emphasized the impact of the original series: "Batman: The Animated Series helped pioneer the evolution of superhero storytelling and defined the Dark Knight for a generation. Batman: Caped Crusader will no doubt continue that tradition and, alongside Merry Little Batman and Bat-Family, we're thrilled to collaborate with Warner Bros. Animation to offer a variety of takes on the Batman mythos to our global Prime Video customers." Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, echoed this excitement: "We are excited to partner with Amazon to begin an all-new animated chapter of Batman. From the cinematic noir storytelling of Batman: Caped Crusader to the comedic adventures of Merry Little Batman and Bat-Family, these new projects ensure that there will be an animated Batman story ready to excite fans of all ages." Stay tuned for more updates on "Batman: Caped Crusader" as it gears up to bring a fresh yet familiar take on the Dark Knight to screens everywhere.

It's the penultimate episode of BAT MARCH season 2 and this week we're discussing the DC animated film Batman: Under The Red Hood. Is this the first time in 3 years and 200+ episodes that we have ever been on time to record? Are Jake's dark secrets darker than anyone else's? Does Jake F. Abraham Lincoln survive in another universe and disarm John Wilkes Booth? Are we slowly seeing Cody's mental health decline with each episode? Are the watering holes in West Virginia actually Lazarus Pits? Is Joker's voice agreeable in this movie? Who is our favorite Robin? Is Tim Drake the sleepiest baby of the Robins? Is there a correlation between how erect Jake is and how many Joe Pesci's he gives anything? Did DC ask the fans to vote to kill Jason Todd? Does Batman beat the shit out of Red Hood? Is Cody going to train his son to take Jake out? Is the Bat-Family too big? Does all of Bat March focus on Robin in some capacity this time around? Is The Dark Knight Returns Robin the weakest of the Robins? Can criminals be reformed? Does Batman prove that once you commit a felony that's all you are? Does the O in OMAC stand for Orphan? Is Cody's sanity tied to the amount of magic in the world? Does John DiMaggio make a good Joker? Is Creed making a comeback? Does Red Hood's mask say MAGA on it? Would Bill Hader make a good live action Joker? Find out the answer to these questions and more on our third episode of Bat March!
