In "A Place at the Table" the BAU have to solve a dinner massacre by interviewing suspects and finding out who is the most sus. Is it the son's boyfriend, the daughter's boyfriend, or DILLON? Meanwhile, Hotch runs afoul of an elderly man as he is tasked with taking care of his infirm and Alzheimer's riddled father-in-law, played by Ed Asner. It's all that and a lot of stupid shit this week on Deliver The Profile.
The Mary Tyler Moore & Ed Asner of sports media return as Reid and Scott Ellia discuss Disney's box-office disaster "Snow White" and what it's impact on their future live-action remake endeavors will be...UNTIL it spirals into an impromptu draft of Disney movies that should be remade with the Muppets (and one human actor remaining)! Then, we cover the 2025 NCAA Basketball Tournaments with a new game: "Men's Final Four Basketball Player...or Love Is Blind Contestant?!”

8 Movies again, annnnnnnd here goes. 1. (Halls of Anger 1970) Calvin Lockhart, a young Jeff Bridges and Janet MacLachlan star in this serious look at racism and teaching. Ed Asner makes yet another appearance too. 2. (Skin Game 1971) Same director here as the first movie. Rockford Files and Iron Eagle star with Mom from Webster in yet another film having a heavy dialogue about racism. This one tries to Trojan horse it in with some comedy, does it work, let's see. Oh look, Ed Asner. 3. (Aaron loves Angela 1975) Where the heck is Ed Asner, sigh. Gordon Parks jr. directs this rad 70's film lookin at young love and race, using Romeo and Juliet as a basic template. Irene Cara is in the house. 4.(Hard Times 1975) Warriors director Walter Hill is here, making a film where James Coburn needs to not gamble so much, damn, There's Charles Bronson and boxing too. Bronson is glowing and so expressive, an amazing on screen presence, NOT. 5. (Special Day 1977) Oh my, Italian cinema can be tricky, at least the 70's Italian films that we have seen which are few, but whoa, tricky is a too nice way of saying there's disgusting treatment of women in these films. This film, though not perfect, is an exception, and with some unexpected queer content. Sophia Loren is here, as well as Marcello Mastroianni (who appears to be in every Italian film ever) oh also the dean from Animal House. Special Day is directed by Ettore Scola. Pretty epic stuff. 6.(Skateboard the movie 1978) Silly, dumb, quickly made cash grab about Skateboarding, that I really like and even own the soundtrack. If you like the subject, and fun B movies, this is a win for me, let us tell you all about it. You might have more fun listening with the commentary track on, which means you'd have to buy it, and if yer that interested, you probably already have it. Teen heart throb Leif Garret is here and is the only one who can't skate great. Here also is Kathleen Lloyd of The Car. 7. (The Outsider 1979) Heavy film here about the troubles. It sure got some great images on film in Northern Ireland. Brits out! 8. (Penitentiary 1979) This is final film of rad director Jamaa Fanaka that we get to review. Here Sweet Pea tries to survive prison. Please see also Emma Mae 1976. ok enjoy the show, thanks for listening.
In this Christmasy Christman Christmas of a Christmas Holiday Episode, we Christmas the Christmas all over the Christmas with the 1999 Christmas film, Christmas Classics Series: O'Christmas Tree, directed by Bert Ring and starring Ed Asner. A Tubi Christmas is often a twister that not only rivals but TOWERS OVER the Hallmark traditions. It is the truth. It simply is. No god-fearing member of the New York Times Cultural Critics Cabal will understand. But they will. You hear me Amanda Hess? You will.
We're taking a few days off for the holidays, but we'll be back with brand new editions of TV Confidential in the new year. In the meantime, please enjoy this Blast from the Past clip from October 2020 in which Ed, Tony, and Donna ask eight-time Emmy Award winner Ed Asner how he approached playing both Santa Claus and God.
It's the Christmas Season, Slackers!Did you know that Santa Claus first appeared in a short film all the way back in 1897?!Since then, there have been dozens of live action (and animated) movies and shows starring that jolly old elf. Given the iconic nature of the character, finding the right actor is important. And when Hollywood captures lightning in a bottle, you know they are going to capitalize on it!There have been a handful of actors that so nailed the role that they were brought back numerous times, across genres, film, TV, you name it. Can you guess who played the role in live action more than any other? The answer might surprise you.And no, it isn't Tim Allen.
GGACP celebrates the birthday of Emmy-winning actor Ed Asner (b. November 15, 1929) with this ENCORE presentation of an in-depth interview from 2015. Meticulously composed on several different film formats, masterfully edited in a radical, experimental style, and structured as a steady unraveling of institutional footings, the film stands as one of the finest formal evocations of political radicalization ever made for the silver screen. We discuss the film's groundbreaking formalism, how it creates an unmooring effect on behalf of its viewers, and charts the cacophonous frenzy of conspiracy thinking. Then, we talk about where Stone sits in relation to the film's protagonist Jim Garrison, what the film gets very wrong, and why the minutiae doesn't ultimately matter in the borader context of its critique of empire. Finally we look to the upcoming election, share our personal thoughts on the outcomes, and what it means for Palestinian resistance and political movements in our own country.Follow Sami Gold on Twitter.....Our theme song is "Mirror" by Chris Fish.

Dennis connects via Zoom with Jeffery Bowman who is the founder and co-host of Legendary Bingo, a West Hollywood staple since 1998. Jeffery talks about the event's humble beginnings, how he enlisted the queen Belle Aire early on as his first drag co-host and how the event has raised over $9 million to date for countless local charities. He dishes about all the celebrities that have appeared at Bingo over the years including Molly Shannon, Ed Asner, Paula Abdul, Richard Simmons, Seth Rogan, Lesley Ann Warren and his first-ever celebrity guest Jean Smart. He also talks about his more recent creative endeavor; writing, recording and releasing songs on Spotify under the name Jeffery Leonard Bowman. His song "No Shelter," about his own experience with rescue animals, is connecting with other animal lovers all over the world and Jeffery couldn't be more thrilled about it. Other topics include: how both Jeffery and Dennis have worked with and been delightfully scandalized by drag legend Willam at Bingo and The MisMatch Game respectively, how great it feels when someone compliments him on his music, the corporate gigs that make it so he's able to make his living from Bingo, why it's never not a pain in the ass when a reality show wants to shoot at Bingo, co-starring with Ron Jeremy in the movie Orgasmo, why people love the game of Bingo generally, finding great collaborators on Craig's List and his favorite celebrity guest caller ever. Encore! Encore! Yes, today we present another encore episode of the Rarified Heir Podcast, and this one was a doozy! Our guest today is Matt Asner, son of actor and activist of the beloved Ed Asner. Matt spoke with us on the podcast about a myriad of things such as his youth spent on the MTM backlot while his dad was playing Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, the story behind his dad's controversial stint as head of the Screen Actors Guild, films like Fort Apache The Bronx, Pixar's Up, Elf and much more. We also hear from Matt about his years as a musical youth in punk bands like Insect Idol & Grand Manner, time spent with his dad's co-stars Ted Knight and Gavin McLeod as well as where his father liked to eat in Los Angeles. Most importantly we discuss Matt's work at The Ed Asner Family Center, which provides virtual and in-person camps, adult day programs, relationship courses, arts, and vocational, enrichments for special needs individuals and their families as well as in-person and Telehealth counseling and support groups. This is the Rarified Heir Podcast. Everyone has a story.
It's the ludicrously-belated fifth and final episode of WHAT WOULD WALT HAVE DONE? "MONTH" on Escape From Vault Disney! And to wrap up this batch of episodes on the most awkward time period in Disney history, the randomizer goes all the way back to 1976 to cover an example of Disney's most reliably lucrative (or at least, least reliably un-lucrative) genre at the time, the dumb-as-rocks slapstick-heavy live-action comedy! And what a comedy it was, assembling more exclamation-point-worthy TV stars than a primetime variety special - Ed Asner! Don Knotts! Tim Conway! Tom Bosley! Bob Crane! Dick Van Patten! Dick Butkus! The Guy Who Voiced The Cat From Outer Space! - and then casting them all in a motion picture where the REAL star is a dumb mule who somehow gets drafted as an NFL placekicker through the use of Air Bud logic twenty years before Air Bud. The infamous "Susan's Plan" episode and all that it wrought. "The "Dirty Sons of Pitches" are back with another edition of combining different movies into a brand-new pitch. This week it's the dreadful, truly dreadful "comedy" in 1998 written/directed by John Landis and mercifully forgotten combined with the Nicolas Cage/Shirley Maclaine 1994 comedy "Guarding Tess." Available on Spotify and Apple Episode 319 includes: -R.I.P. Ed Asner and Michael K. Williams -New "Matrix" trailer... kind of. -Ben says "Demonic" is confirmation Neil Blomkamp is a name that should no longer excite moviegoers. -"Shang-Chi" is good Marvel fun by ways of punches and kicks. -Switch the Pitch -- "Susan's Plan" / "Guarding Tess" -The guys combine a very very bad movie by John Landis about a hit gone wrong (one of the worst films watched for the podcast, says Nate) with a forgettable and quaint Nicolas Cage comedy where he serves as a Secret Service agent to a former First Lady. Teatime with Miss Liz on June 11th, 3 pm EST, Bringing you all an important message on the Elephant Matriarch Project and her book “Terriers in the Jungle” The best-selling author and Co-Founder George Umano Meet My Guest: Georja Umano is an animal activist who has organized, spoken and written about animals and animal causes in the US, Italy and Kenya, especially in the fields of elephant and wildlife conservation. She is also a film, TV and theatre actress, stand-up comedian, teacher and journalist. She has earned a B.A. in English Literature at LeMoyne College and an M.A. in Educational Theatre at New York University. Her acting career started in New York, and she always leaned toward comedy. She appeared on all the episodes of a sitcom with Ed Asner, “Off the Rack,” played the title character in an award-winning short film, “The Godmother,” and was nominated for awards for her theatrical performance in “Kaballah” with Avery Shriver. She has performed stand-up comedy in Los Angeles, San Diego, and ten other states. Things changed when she got a dog, and she quickly became an avid animal advocate and feature journalist. She produced and starred in a cable show/web series with her dog, “The Georja and Marcello Show.” Soon afterward, she got involved with elephants. She went to Africa six times. The last time she decided to move there was when she brought her two rescue dogs and her husband, author Gerald Everett Jones. In her new novel, TERRIERS IN THE JUNGLE, she wrote about many of their adventures, including her plans to create “The Elephant Matriarch School” in Kenya. The novel is narrated by her dogs! As a young woman, Georja experienced a vivid past-life regression in which she was a young child whose mother was killed by an elephant hunter, and she was raised by elephants. While staying in Kenya, she realized that she was an elephant in that past life. Now, she knows many elephants in Kenya, has adopted many orphaned elephants, and has hugged many of them. TERRIERS IN THE JUNGLE won First Prize in Animal Fiction at The BookFest 2022. Many people say this book should become a movie, and Georja is working on that project now.Georjaumano.comElephantMatriarach.org#teatimewithmissliz #misslizteatime #makingadifferencetogether #animalactivist#elephants#kenya #actress #awardwinning #author #joinus #livestreaming #podcastshow #likefollowshare
Charles AgronTake a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know Charles Agron. Charles is a writer, actor, director, and producer of independent films. In this episode, we discuss his previous career as a Washington Lobbyist, and what made him get out of that business. Then we talk about why he decided to not only be an actor; but also a writer, and producer. He shares stories about working with some of the greats; like Ed Asner, Tobin Bell, and Lance Henriksen in his newest film Altered Reality. Along the way, we touch on a couple of his previous films like Dark Horse & Monday At 11:01 A.M. Finally, we get into why it is important to be a distributer with his company K Street Pictures, and where that name comes from. I ask him why he decided to distribute films like Alex and Eve, and Last Call; and at what point he got involved with those projects. Charles also explains what the Covid pandemic did to the box office numbers of one of these films. He does explain some paintings and artists at the beginning to satisfy my nosey questions about the wall art at his home! Thanks for that Charles!

Some very questionable stuntcasting forces the Munchie Boys to wrestle (box?) with Mike Tyson's checkered past while reluctantly acknowledging that he's actually pretty good in this SVU. He's no Andre Braugher--WHO IS ONCE AGAIN INCREDIBLE--but he was pretty effective. Ed Asner's really good at playing a real monster, too. Kind of burying the lede there though because Peter Scanavino pops up in "Monster's Legacy," and it's not as Domenick Carisi, so this ep is one helluva brainmelter.Sources:Jerry Sandusky - WikipediaJohn Geoghan - WikipediaMusic:Divorcio Suave - "Munchy Business"Thanks to our gracious Munchies on Patreon: Jeremy S, Jaclyn O, Amy Z, Nikki B, Whitney C, D Reduble, Tony B, Zak B, Barry W, Karen D, Sara L, Miriam J, Drew D, Nicky R, Stuart, Jacqi B, Natalie T, Robyn S, Isabel P, Christine L, Amy A, Sean M, Jay S, Briley O, Asteria K, Suzanne B, Jason S, and Tim Y - y'all are the best!Be a Munchie, too!
