Just about everybody tells the truth when it does them no harm, and this can lead people to think of themselves as basically honest when, in fact, they really aren't. Our true character doesn't show until it's put under stress. The moment that determines whether I am honest or not is what comes out of my mouth at a time when telling the truth will: - Expose unacceptable behavior and thereby lower other's opinion, or subject me to punishment - Give the other person enough information to decide against what I want them to do  - Cause me to lose some benefit - Reveal my negative feelings about the other person which makes me have to face their displeasure - Results in me having to do something I don't want to

Our experiences play a role in shaping us as individuals. Many people probably went through the phase where their parents compared them with other children with the record-breaking question of “The person who came first; does she have two heads?” And the pressure to perform or appear perfect has increased since then. It's all fun and jokes till we realize that this mindset has followed us into our walk with Christ. We find out that we are less conscious of the life we have received in Christ Jesus and more conscious of our weaknesses and how we can fix them by our own strength. Someone would argue that Matthew 5:48 says “be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect” so why are we laying aside perfectionism? But in this episode, the Lord opened up to us the difference between a perfectionist and one who is being perfected in the Lord. We hope this episode blesses you !

In this follow-up lesson to "I KNOW THY WORKS" (3-26-22. Brother Singh stresses, "We cannot defeat the devil carnally because he works on our carnal mind. We can only defeat him spiritually. In the Book of Hebrews, we read, "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." (Hebrews 12:1) What we call sacrifice today is embarrassing compared to what they willingly surrendered! Jesus will "give every man according to his work." (Revelation 22:12). So, we must be willing to lay aside every weight {unnecessary activity} and carnal desire for sin which so easily yield ourselves.
