The Prophets (a.s) (S16) The Messenger ﷺ, the prism of perfection. Many have come and gone, but none have matched him ﷺ. He ﷺ put kings to shame. He ﷺ never sought fame. He ﷺ is al-Mustafa, the greatest of creation! Hasan Ibn Thaabit رضي الله عنه: “A person more handsome than you [ﷺ] my eyes never saw. One more beautiful a woman never bore. You were fashioned free from every flaw. It is as if you [ﷺ] were created the way you sought”. When the Messenger ﷺ was very ill he advised: “Take care of the earliest Muslims amongst you and their children [رضي الله عنهم]. If you fail to do so, Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى will not accept anything from your deeds”. Thus it is a must for us to love the Muhajireen رضي الله عنهم. The Companions رضي الله عنهم to us are like the stars. They burn bright. They left many years ago, yet still their light reaches us, guiding us through our journey. They are all distinct beams of light, shining through the prism of perfection ﷺ. May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى be well pleased with all the blessed and noble companions of the Messenger ﷺ, indeed, He (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى) is!

The Prophets (a.s) (S15) The Messenger ﷺ would always forgive those who wronged him. The tribe of Muhaarib caused great harm to the Messenger ﷺ in the early days. When the tribe of Muhaarib came to him ﷺ in the year of delegations, the Messenger ﷺ did not mention any of their harm once! They accepted Islam and the Messenger ﷺ gave them all gifts. One man from their tribe called Huzayma Ibn Sawa رضي الله عنه didn't have a beard. The Messenger ﷺ rubbed Huzayma's رضي الله عنه face and a beard appeared! Was there a lizard companion of the Messenger? ﷺ A Bedouin says to the Messenger ﷺ: “I will not believe until this lizard believes!”. The Messenger ﷺ speaks to the lizard and it says: “I am here, at your service”. The lizard says: “You are the Messenger of The Lord of the worlds and the last of the Prophets [a.s]”.

The Prophets (a.s) (S14) A glimpse into the Messenger's ﷺ generosity: Rubayi bint Muazh رضي الله عنهم brings dates and cucumbers to the Messenger ﷺ. The Messenger ﷺ scoops up some jewels he received from Bahrain and gives it to her رضي الله عنها. Umm Sumbulah رضي الله عنها gives the Messenger ﷺ a gift which didn't have much worth. In return, he ﷺ gives her رضي الله عنها some land between two mountains! The Messenger ﷺ lived an utmost ascetic life, however when it came to giving, he ﷺ put emperors to shame! A glimpse into some of the knowledge the Messenger ﷺ received.

The Prophets (a.s) (S13) Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم: “I have not seen anyone more daring, generous, courages and better at shooting arrows than the Messenger ﷺ”. Ali رضي الله عنه: “We sought refuge behind the Messenger ﷺ when the fighting became fierce at Badr. He (ﷺ) was the strongest of men, he was the closest to the polytheists on the battlefield”. Anas رضي الله عنه states whenever the fighting became fierce, they (رضي الله عنهم) would seek refuge behind the Messenger ﷺ.

The Prophets (a.s) (S12) Muazh Ibn Amr Ibn al-Jamooh رضي الله عنهم loses his arm at the battle of Badr. He brings it to the Messenger ﷺ. The Messenger ﷺ uses his blessed saliva and reattaches Muazh's رضي الله عنه arm. Muazh Ibn Amr رضي الله عنهم lived on until the Khilafat of Uthmaan رضي الله عنه. The Messenger ﷺ performed many miracles even before he ﷺ proclaimed. One example is the story of his (ﷺ) wrestling match With Ruqana رضي الله عنه: Ruqana Ibn Abd Yazeed رضي الله عنه: He رضي الله عنه was from Banu Hashim, thus a cousin of the Messenger ﷺ. He رضي الله عنه was the undefeated wrestler amongst the Quraysh. The Messenger ﷺ defeats Ruqana رضي الله عنه three times without breaking a sweat!

The Prophets (a.s) (S11) A new born baby was brought to the Messenger ﷺ and was wrapped in a sheet. The Messenger ﷺ asks: “Who am I?”. The infant replies: “You are the Messenger of Allah” (ﷺ). The Messenger ﷺ replied: “You have spoken the truth. May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى bless you”. The Messenger ﷺ once stroked the head of a young Saa'ib رضي الله عنه in the middle, going from the front to the back, then he ﷺ supplicated for blessings for him. When Saa'ib رضي الله عنه grew older, all his hair turned white except the part with the Messenger ﷺ stroked, that part remained black. These blessed events were a regular occurrence in the life of the Messenger ﷺ. What a sight it would have been to see him ﷺ, to hear him ﷺ and be with him ﷺ.

The Prophets (a.s) (S10) Abdullah Ibn Salaam رضي الله عنه: “Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى Has not created a creation more honourable to Him [سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى] than Muhammad ﷺ”. The Messenger ﷺ supplicated for his ummah's forgiveness for hours. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى accepts the dua but says that it doesn't apply to social sinners. The Messenger ﷺ continues supplicating for us, then Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى accepts the dua that this ummah will be forgiven, even the social sinners. When the Messenger ﷺ went on the blessed night journey and ascended to the 7th Heaven, where Ibraaheem (a.s) was, he ﷺ read Salah and the entire ummah was there. One group in white garments prayed with him ﷺ, the other group in dusty garments got to observe this blessed sight.

The Prophets (a.s) (S9) Ibraaheem (a.s) once said: “O my Lord سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى, it grieves me that I am the only one on the Earth that worships you”. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى then sent down Angels (a.s) who prayed with Ibraaheem (a.s) and were with him. Ibraaheem (a.s) supplicates (Surah [14:36]): “O my Lord سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى, they [i.e the idols] have lead many astray. Those who follow me are of me, and those who disobey me, then surely You are All-Forgiving, Most Merciful”. Every year Prophet Ibraaheem (a.s) performed Hajj and he used the Buraaq. He along with his son Ismaaeel (a.s) performed Hajj on foot. Surah [60:4]: “There is for you an excellent example in Ibraaheem [a.s]”.

The Prophets (a.s) (S8) The dua of our ancient father Nuh (a.s) for us. (Surah [71:28]) The house being referred to in this verse is Nuh's (a.s) Masjid, located on mount Judee. There is a church there today, scholars mention one can pray here to receive the rewards. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى knows best. Nuh (a.s) was sent to his people when he was 40. He preached for 950 years. He (a.s) lived for ~1,050 years, although there is a difference of opinion regarding this. The Messenger ﷺ: “The best of the children of Adam (a.s) are 5; Nuh, Ibraaheem, Musa, Eesa and Muhammad al-Mustafa [a.s]”.

Surah 27 The Female Ant v19-21 Session 6 The Hoopoo Bird Prophet Sulayman (A.S) smiles at the speech of The Ant from a distance of 3 miles. The Ant supplicates to his Lord - rain was sent. The miraculous speech with birds.

Surah 27 The Female Ant v15-18 Session 5 The Valley of The Ants Wit & Wisdom Prophet Sulayman inherits from Prophet Dawood (A.S) this refers to knowledge and Prophethood, verse 16. The Angel of Death stations within The House of Dawood (A.S). The birds shield Prophet Dawood (A.S) from the sunlight as he's led to his final resting place. Prophet Sulayman (A.S) had knowledge of plants & trees and their healing abilities.

S04 - Surah Al-Naml (27) Verse 12-14 by Yusuf Circle Sheffield

Surah 27 The Female Ant v9-11 Session 3 The Sirah of Musa (A.S) The staff (now in the Ark of The Covenant) originally with Prophet Adam (A.S.) and it's multiple uses.

The Prophets (a.s) (S7) Adam (a.s) lived for 1,000 years. He (a.s) was buried at the foot of mount Abu Qubais, which overlooks the Ka'ba. All of creation wept for 7 days upon the passing of Adam (a.s). Hawa رضي الله عنها passed away one year after Adam (a.s). Hawa رضي الله عنها would have twins everytime, one boy and one girl. There was one exception; when Sheath (a.s) was born. He was born alone, as he was the second Prophet (a.s). The Messenger ﷺ: “Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى sent down 104 tablets. 50 were received by Sheath (a.s)”. Only 80 believers رضي الله عنهم were on the Ark with Prophet Nuh (a.s). Nuh (a.s) was the first Messenger.

The Prophets (a.s) (S6) Adam (a.s) was taught the acts of worship. He descended on a mountain in Sri Lanka. Hawa رضي الله عنها descended in Jeddah. Adam (a.s) performed Hajj 300 times and Umrah 700 times. He (a.s) performed Hajj 40 times on foot. Arafat is where our grandparents (a.s) reunited. It was also where the covenant was taken. Shaykh Albani (r.h) said that our fitrah is the remnant of the covenant that was taken.

The Prophets (a.s) (S5) The Messenger ﷺ: “If Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى did not want to be disobeyed, He سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى would have never created shaytaan”. Jibraaeel ﷺ and Mikaeel (a.s) wept upon seeing Shaytaan fall. They (a.s) said: “O our Lord سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى, we fear Your secret plan”. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى said: “Then remain in this state”. If this was the infallible Angels (a.s), then what of us? The greatest of the major sins; Shirk, feeling secure against the plan of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى, despairing of the mercy of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى and despairing of the soothing mercy of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى. The Messenger ﷺ: “O Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى, plot for me, do not plot against me”. A priceless dua one must incorporate.

The Prophets (a.s) (S4) People claim that Adam (a.s) was sent down to Earth as a punishment. This is false. The Salaf (r.h) stated that Adam (a.s) was the father of mankind, he had to be sent down, and the unbelievers and sinners left from him, and he (a.s) returned to where he belonged, Paradise. Sometimes a diver dives deep, to recover beautiful pearls. The Qur'an mentions that Adam (a.s) is going to be the Khalifah on Earth. It seems this was all part of Adam's (a.s) training. The enemy (Shaytaan) was made clear to Adam (a.s). Iblees was the custodian of Paradise for 40,000 years. He was with the Angels (a.s) for 80,000 years. Shaytaan was a Jinn, not a fallen Angel. There is no concept of fallen Angels in Islam.

The Prophets (a.s) (S3) Adam (a.s) was blessed with tremendous knowledge. Surah [2:31]: “He [سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى] taught Adam [a.s] the names of all things”. Adam (a.s) was taught of all the species. He (a.s) was taught of plates, the scoop etc. He (a.s) knew the names of the Angels (a.s), his children, he knew 700,000 languages, he knew the names of all towns and cities. The Angels (a.s) realised that Adam (a.s) had been favoured over them.

The Prophets (a.s) (S2) The soil was placed between Makkah and Ta'if, at Nu'maan. Processes occurred. When it was fit for human form, it was taken to Paradise. Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم: “Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى created 4 things with His Hand; The Arsh, the pen, the Garden of Eden and Adam (a.s). The rest of creation, He سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى said Kun Faya Koon”. Adam (a.s) was not created overnight. Time being taken to create Adam (a.s) was to show honour to him (a.s).

The Noble Prophets (a.s) (S1) Surah [6:84-86]; Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى mentions 17 Prophets (a.s) and says: “We favoured them above all the nations”. The Prophets (a.s) are the best of us. To begin with our ancient grandfather, Adam (a.s): Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى commands Izraaeel (the Angel of death) (a.s) to descend to Earth to collect soil so that Adam (a.s) could be created. The Earth converses with Jibraaeel, Mikaeel and Izraaeel (a.s). The Messenger ﷺ: “Adam (a.s) was created from 3 types of Earth [soil]; Black, white and red”. This soil was picked from all over the Earth. This explains why we have different races and characteristics, as elucidated by the Messenger ﷺ.

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى (S5) Ibn Taymiyyah (r.h) said if you're honoured to see Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى in your dreams, you see Him (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى) according to your condition. Surah [42:11]: “There is nothing like Him”. (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى). Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه: “The best thing you can see in your dream is Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى, or His Prophet ﷺ”. Nu'aym Ibn Hamaad (r.h), Imam Bukhari's (r.h) teacher, said: “Whoever likens Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى to His creation has committed unbelief”. The Messenger ﷺ: “The most virtuous of faith is that you know that Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى is with you, wherever you are”. سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ اَللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى (S4) Hadith which are weak but contain virtuous acts, if you act on them sincerely and with belief you will be rewarded for them. (This is not the case for extremely weak or fabricated reports however). Such is the mercy of our Lord سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى: “I am as my servant thinks of Me”. The Messenger ﷺ: “By Him [سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى] Who has my soul in His Hand, on the Day of judgement, Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى will forgive people in such a way that even shaytaan will think Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى will forgive him”. Surah [10:26] mentions that the good doers will receive Paradise, and even more. Even more refers to seeing Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى. Nothing will be more beloved to them than seeing their Lord! سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى.

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى (S3) Salma al-Farsi رضي الله عنه: “What He (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى) remained silent about, He (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى) Has pardoned”. Surah [5:101]: “O you who believe, do not ask questions about things, which if made clear to you, may trouble you”. Shaytaan makes you think everything is Haraam. However, upon closer inspection we realise that there is more things that are Halal. Such is the mercy of our Lord سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى. Abu Darda رضي الله عنه: “An hour in reflection is better than standing the entire night in worship”.

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى (S2) The Messenger ﷺ: “Verily, a servant shall have a lofty station with Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى that he cannot attain through his deeds, so He سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى afflicts the servant with what he dislikes so that he can reach this station”. The Messenger ﷺ: “Verily, a greater reward is for a greater trial. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى tests those who He سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى loves”. Abu Sa'eed al-Harraaz (r.h): “Wellness conceals the good and bad [i.e people]. The true man is revealed when hardship strikes”. A smooth sea never made a seasoned sailor… The Messenger ﷺ: “Good deeds are many, but those who do them are few”. Such is the love and mercy of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى, He سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى has given us so much good to do, however we do not even make effort…truly mad is our state, we leave the good too late.

Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى (S1) Our Lord سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى shows us mercy in ways we perceive not. Yahya Ibn Muazh (r.h) said that the poor are happier than the rich due to doing more Zhikr. If poverty was lifted from them, only few would remember Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى) much. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى Himself said: “If I gave them wealth, it would corrupt them”. The Messenger ﷺ: “Amongst the best acts of worship is to show patience, awaiting relief”. So our brothers and sisters in Gaza have been in the best form of worship for the past years! Ali رضي الله عنه: “Patience is the beauty of poverty. Gratitude is the beauty of the wealthy”. The Messenger ﷺ: “By means of any suffering in the body, your sins are forgiven”.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S51) - Final session Concluding the battle of the Camel: After the martyrdom of Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم, the battle was fought and won by Ali رضي الله عنه. Our mother Aisha رضي الله عنها was taken back to Madinah. Ali رضي الله عنه took her some distance and the remaining distance she رضي الله عنها was taken by Hasan and Hussain رضي الله عنهم. A man asked Ali رضي الله عنه: “Did you fight polytheists?” [i.e at the battle of the camel]. Ali رضي الله عنه replied: “We fled from polytheism” [i.e thus how can they be polytheists?]. The man asked: “Were they Munafiqs?”. Ali رضي الله عنه replied: “Munafiqs rarely remember their Lord سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى”. [i.e thus the other side weren't Munafiqs. They remembered Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى much]. Ali رضي الله عنه said: “They were our brothers who just rebelled. But they have repented and we have forgiven them”. Abdullah Ibn Abaas رضي الله عنهم converses with Ameer Muawiya رضي الله عنه and speaks highly of Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم. Talha رضي الله عنه was around 64 years old when he was martyred, in 36 A.H. A man saw in a dream that Talha رضي الله عنه said to him move my grave, water is disturbing me. When the grave was dug up, Talha's رضي الله عنه body was exaclty the same, except a few small hairs near Talha's رضي الله عنه blessed jaw. This was 30 years after he had been martyred.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S50) Sa'ad Ibn Abi Waqaas رضي الله عنه heard a man speaking ill of Ali, Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم (after they had passed away). Sa'ad رضي الله عنه said: “Stop this! They have received tremendous accolades”. Sa'ad رضي الله عنه said stop this cursing or I will supplicate against you. The man scoffed and replied: “He curses me as if he was a Prophet”. Sa'ad رضي الله عنه then supplicated and a camel ran in, crushing the man with its chest. The People congratulated Sa'ad رضي الله عنه on his dua being accepted. Sa'ad رضي الله عنه, out of his utmost Taqwa, then freed a slave and swore to never curse anyone again. Speaking ill of any of the Companions رضي الله عنهم is a disastrous path to take. One must be acquainted with these noble souls رضي الله عنهم to avoid any negative thoughts. The Messenger ﷺ: “Allah, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى), fear Him (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى) in regards to my Companions [رضي الله عنهم]. Do not target them after me. Whoever loves them, loves them out of love for me. Whoever hates them, hates them out of love for me. Whoever hates me, hates Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى and whoever hates Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى is about to perish”.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S49) Talha's رضي الله عنه sons, Musa and Imran (r.h) pledge allegiance to Ali رضي الله عنه. Ali رضي الله عنه performs the Janazah for both Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم. Both blessed souls seem to have been buried together in Basra. Ali رضي الله عنه recited Surah [15:47] at their graves and recalls the words of the Messenger ﷺ: “Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم will be my neighbours in Paradise”. Some ignorant people falsely claim that Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم died in rebellion. The scholars (r.h) refute such claims: The Messenger ﷺ called Talha رضي الله عنه a living martyr, proving he cannot die in rebellion. The Messenger ﷺ says the killer of Zubayr رضي الله عنه will be in Hell. (Thus Zubayr رضي الله عنه is on the truth). Hasan al-Basri (r.h) said that the Companions رضي الله عنهم were there, present. We were not. Thus we do not speak about any differences they had. We do not add our own theories. May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى be well pleased with all the Companions of the Messenger ﷺ. Indeed, He (سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى) is.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S48) There is a false report which claims Marwaan Ibn al-Hakam (r.h) was the one who killed Talha رضي الله عنه. This is not the case. Ibn Arabi (r.h) states that there is no authentic chain supporting this. Ibn Kathir (r.h) said it was someone else who killed Talha رضي الله عنه. Marwaan (r.h) was on the same side as Talha رضي الله عنه, why would he kill him? Marwaan (r.h) was later placed governor of Makkah by other Companions (رضي الله عنهم), would they place an evil doer there? Ali رضي الله عنه praised and spoke highly of Marwaan (r.h) and Marwaan (r.h) praised and spoke highly of Ali رضي الله عنه. It is clear that someone is targeting these blessed souls. Books of history record everything. These poisoned people take texts out of context which are most of the time fabricated and use it to fuel their propaganda. Ali رضي الله عنه had utmost love for Talha رضي الله عنه. When he saw the body of Talha and his son, Muhammad رضي الله عنهم, he was heartbroken. He رضي الله عنه said: “Would that I had passed away 20 years prior”. (I.e in the Khilafat of his blessed son in law, Umar رضي الله عنه).

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S47) Zubayr رضي الله عنه tried to reconcile the people, but it did not succeed. He رضي الله عنه left. Talha رضي الله عنه also left. He رضي الله عنه was hit by an arrow. It pierced his knee and was a fatal blow. One report mentions Talha رضي الله عنه was taken off the field and was treated, however he was martyred due to excessive blood loss. Another report states Talha رضي الله عنه was martyred on the field; this narrative is weak but is more favoured as it reconciles with other reports. Ali رضي الله عنه went to Talha's رضي الله عنه body and cleaned his face, then held him in his lap. Ali رضي الله عنه said: “May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى have mercy on you O Abu Muhammad [رضي الله عنهم]. It breaks my heart to see you laying here beneath the stars”. He رضي الله عنه also said: “Tell the killer of Talha [رضي الله عنه] he has reserved himself a place in the hellfire!”. Thus passed away: Abu Muhammad, son of as-Sa'ba [رضي الله عنهم], second cousin and son in law of Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه, the one named ‘al-Qarinayn', the one whose four wives were sisters of the mothers of the believers رضي الله عنهم, the paired brother of Ka'ab Ibn Malik رضي الله عنه, father in law of Hasan and Hussain رضي الله عنهم, the neighbour of the Messenger ﷺ in Paradise; our exemplar, Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه. May our mothers and fathers be ransomed for him. Zubayr رضي الله عنه was also martyred. He رضي الله عنه was praying when a man cut off his head. Ali رضي الله عنه was devastated and furious upon hearing this. He رضي الله عنه said: “Tell the killer of Zubayr [رضي الله عنه] he has reserved himself a place in the hellfire!”.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S46) The battle of the camel: The battle took place on a Friday, the 16th of Jamada al-Thaani, 36 A.H, in az-Zabuka, an area near Basra. The battle was fought in 2 parts. The first part, from dawn till midday, was lead by Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم. This was the first civil war in our history, still the Companions' رضي الله عنهم nobility shines brighter than the sun: both sides were lead by people promised Paradise. They called out not to kill those that flee, do not kill the injured etc, to minimise bloodshed. It had been ~33 years since Uhud, the day that belonged to Talha رضي الله عنه, the living martyr. He رضي الله عنه now supplicated for martyrdom.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S45) Peace talks: Neither our mother nor our Mawla رضي الله عنهم wanted bloodshed. Ali رضي الله عنه sends Ka'ka رضي الله عنه to speak in Aisha's رضي الله عنها camp. Ka'ka رضي الله عنه mentions it's dangerous for Aisha رضي الله عنها to continue pursuing the rebels, she may be attacked by other tribes, including the tribe of Harkoos, which was Banu Sa'ad. He was the one rebel that survived from the prior clash. Both parties agreed to the terms, and peace was made. However peace was the last thing the mischief mongers wanted. They planned to launch inside attacks on either side, to blame eachother and thus begin a battle. This was executed successfully. Talha رضي الله عنه realised the rebels had ulterior motives. He رضي الله عنه called out: “Woe to you. You are like moths to a flame. Greed is killing them!”. [i.e talking to the rebels].

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S44) Ali رضي الله عنه en route Kufa heard that Aisha's رضي الله عنها force was marching. He رضي الله عنه said: “I am being tested with Aisha رضي الله عنها, the most obedient of all human beings. With Zubayr رضي الله عنه, the toughest. With Talha رضي الله عنه, the most genius and with Ya'la رضي الله عنه, the most cooperative”. Ali رضي الله عنه and his force reach Rabadah, an area ~150 miles east of Madinah. This is the place Abu Zharr رضي الله عنه was buried. Ali رضي الله عنه had ~900 men. He رضي الله عنه sends men to Kufa, to get some more people recruited. The governor of Kufa was Abu Musa al-Ashari رضي الله عنه. Only when Ammar Ibn Yasir and Hasan Ibn Ali رضي الله عنهم were sent did the people agree to join. ~7,000 men joined Ali رضي الله عنه. Another ~2,000 joined from Basra. Ali's رضي الله عنه forces were now ~12,000. Ali رضي الله عنه did not want a fight to break out. Ali رضي الله عنه says: “Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم will be martyred, and the Kufans will follow us in even greater numbers”. Abdullah Ibn Abaas رضي الله عنهم said Ali رضي الله عنه could not have known this; the Messenger ﷺ must have told him all those years prior! May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى be well pleased with our mother and our mawla.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S43) The force had gone weeks without being catered for. Now they had Basra, they recharged there. Uthmaan Ibn Hunayf رضي الله عنه was beaten by a group of misinformed people. When Aisha رضي الله عنها heard of this, she immediately said what have you done? And Uthmaan رضي الله عنه was to be released. The Rawafid claim that it was Companions رضي الله عنهم who beat up Uthmaan Ibn Hunayf رضي الله عنه - this is completely baseless and a fabricated report! Aisha (a.s) uses her brilliance and writes letters to the major cities to elucidate what happened at Basra. She رضي الله عنها wrote to Shaam, Kufa, Yamamah and Madinah. She رضي الله عنها mentioned that the Khawarij wanted to hold her hostage! Imam Ali رضي الله عنه changes the capital from Madinah to Kufa. Why?: 1) He رضي الله عنه wanted no disrespect to be shown in Madinah, the blessed city. 2) He رضي الله عنه had a large following in Kufa. 3) There was funds in Iraq which could be used to supply war if needed. Ali رضي الله عنه gives his final Salaam to the Messenger ﷺ and leaves Madinah, never to return. How difficult this must have been, his entire life he رضي الله عنه spent with the Messenger ﷺ and now he has to leave…

Surah 27 The Female Ant v7-8 Session 2 'Verily I Am your Lord, thus put off your shoes...' The 70 Veils of Light There is no day or night with your Lord (SWT), indeed the immense light of the entire heavens is from the Light of His Face (SWT), Tabarani. ..His (SWT) veil is light. If He (SWT) removed His veil then the light of His Face (ie thus note that this Light from His Face [SWT] is separate from the light of the veil) would burn the sight of any of His creation who gazed upon Him, (Muslim) verse 8. The Reflection The image is manifested in the mirror but it is not transfigured into it. It is also quite evident that this manifestation refulgence was not the refulgence of Allah (SWT). No one has believed in anything better than believing in the unseen, Ibn Masood (ra) Hakim.

Surah 27 The Female Ant v1- 6 Session 1 The Companions understand The Quran due to The Messenger ﷺ. The liars and The Mirage. Seeking knowledge is compulsory upon every Muslim (Baihaqi).

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S42) The force reaches al-Hubayrah, an area just outside Basra. Messengers were sent calling for the nobles and leaders from the city to help identify the killers of Uthmaan رضي الله عنه. The governor of Basra was Uthmaan Ibn Hunayf رضي الله عنه, he was appointed by Ali رضي الله عنه. Our mother Aisha (a.s) elucidates the situation to Uthmaan Ibn Hunayf رضي الله عنه. She رضي الله عنها also sends a letter to Abu Musa al-Ashari رضي الله عنه, who was the governor of Kufa appointed by Ali (a.s). Some people ignorantly claim that nothing good came out of the force that our mother رضي الله عنها gathered. This is false. One of the fruits was such; the killing of Hukaym Ibn Jabala, one of the rebel leaders. All but one of the rebels were wiped out. Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم called out: “We are only here for Uthmaan's رضي الله عنه murderers. If you were not involved then stay away”. Such was the nobility of the Companions رضي الله عنهم. The Messenger ﷺ: “The best of mankind are those who kill them [i.e the Khawarij] or are killed by them [i.e the Khawarij]”.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S41) All of our mothers رضي الله عنهم agreed with Aisha رضي الله عنها that Uthmaan رضي الله عنه needed to be avenged. Her followers were righteous people, Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم said the followers were the best of people. Our mother Aisha رضي الله عنها was the most qualified of the Messenger's ﷺ wives to lead here. The only difference in opinion between our mothers رضي الله عنهم was whether they should go to Madinah or Basra. Although this was a sad time in our history, it boosts our Iman. How? For many words of the Messenger ﷺ were, as always, proven to be true.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S40) Talha, Zubayr, Abdullah Ibn Zubayr and Abdullah Ibn Amir, the governor of Makkah, رضي الله عنهم all joined our the force of our mother Aisha رضي الله عنها. By being on Aisha's رضي الله عنها side, Talha and Zubayr رضي الله عنهم did not break their pledge to Ali رضي الله عنه, for ultimately all parties' goal was the same - avenge Uthmaan رضي الله عنه. It was just executed differently. The force was around 3,000. They headed for Basra, as it was neutral land and most of the rebels were in Madinah. The reasoning was as follows; 1) To avenge Uthmaan رضي الله عنه, and get his killers. 2) To show the true colours of the rebels and expose their mischief. 3) To bring peace between the Muslims. 4) to enjoin good and forbid evil. Aisha's رضي الله عنها leading was symbolic: She being our mother رضي الله عنها was a symbol of peace. When the people see her coming they will stand down and realise the matter is serious and needs to be handled.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S39) The difficulties in avenging Uthmaan رضي الله عنه: No one could have been singled out as the murderer of Uthmaan رضي الله عنه, as many people were involved. There was also not enough witnesses so Ali رضي الله عنه could not make plans to go forward. Talha asked Ali for leadership in Basra, Zubayr asked Ali (رضي الله عنهم) for leadership in Kufa, so they could immediately get vengeance for Uthmaan رضي الله عنه and destroy the Khawarij. Ali رضي الله عنه said he needed time to think about this. Putting it simply; this difference in opinion between how the vengeance of Uthmaan's رضي الله عنه murder should be handled is what caused the civil war to break out between the noble Companions رضي الله عنهم. Today we still discuss this, and these souls are in Firdaus. Our mother Aisha رضي الله عنها very wisely decides to stay in Makkah upon hearing that Uthmaan رضي الله عنه was murdered and that rebels were loose in Madinah…

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S38) Ali's رضي الله عنه election to the high post: Madinah was leaderless. Chaos was spread. The time came for Imam Ali رضي الله عنه to become the Khalif. al-Ghaafiqee Ibn Harb, one of the rebel leaders, led Madinah for 5 days upon the martyrdom of Uthmaan رضي الله عنه. The rebels searched for a new leader, so they could get the blame off themselves for the crimes they had committed. The Companions رضي الله عنهم approach Ali رضي الله عنه and say you are the most worthy of Khilafat amongst us. Ali رضي الله عنه called for the allegiance to be done in the blessed Masjid. Ali رضي الله عنه later would say the only reason he became Khalif was out of fear that Islam would diminish.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S37) Uthmaan's رضي الله عنه Khilafat lasted 12 years. The first 6 were peaceful, the last 6 was when the fitnah began. The mischief mongers were spreading their propaganda, wanting to destroy Islam from within. The rebels were lead by the following; Abdul Rahman Ibn Udays, Malik al-Ashtar and Hukaym Ibn Jabla. When Talha رضي الله عنه heard of Uthmaan's رضي الله عنه martyrdom he made dua for him, and said may the killers perish! He then recited Surah [36:49]. Talha رضي الله عنه said: “Certainly, Uthmaan رضي الله عنه was innocent”. Uthmaan's رضي الله عنه funeral was so packed, if you threw a stone it would certainly land on someone's head (I.e no space was left free). Talha رضي الله عنه was ~63 when Uthmaan رضي الله عنه was martyred. Uthmaan رضي الله عنه was ~84.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S36) Ali's son, Muhammad Ibn al-Hanafiyah رضي الله عنهم said his father never spoke ill of Uthmaan رضي الله عنه. Ali رضي الله عنه: “Whoever speaks ill of Uthmaan رضي الله عنه is like the one who tries to stab someone that is behind him, by stabbing though his own stomach!”. Talha رضي الله عنه was of the last to pledge to Uthmaan رضي الله عنه. Uthmaan رضي الله عنه said: “Should you want, I will step down”. Talha رضي الله عنه said no, you will lead and gave Uthmaan رضي الله عنه the pledge. The love between Uthmaan, Ali and Talha رضي الله عنهم was such.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S35) With Umar's رضي الله عنه passing, Talha رضي الله عنه was around 51 years old. Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf رضي الله عنه said let us boil it down to three of us. Zubayr رضي الله عنه stepped down and nominated Ali رضي الله عنه. Talha رضي الله عنه stepped down and nominated Uthmaan رضي الله عنه. Sa'ad Ibn Abi Waqaas رضي الله عنه stepped down and nominated Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf رضي الله عنه. The council was long, the decision was difficult. It took Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf رضي الله عنه three days to decide his decision. Abdul Rahman couldn't sleep and tells his nephew Miswar Ibn Mahrama رضي الله عنهم to summon Zubayr and Sa'ad Ibn Abi Waqaas رضي الله عنهم. They discuss for a portion of the night. He then called for Ali, discussed for half the night and then called Uthmaan رضي الله عنهم and discussed till Fajr. The 3 days were up… Everyone gathers in Masjid Nabi ﷺ. The blessed 6 رضي الله عنهم gather near The Messenger's ﷺ pulpit and the senior Companions رضي الله عنهم were at the front. The people were in agreement and Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf رضي الله عنه says to Ali رضي الله عنه that Uthmaan رضي الله عنه shall be the successor.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S34) Umar رضي الله عنه knew one thing about each of the 6 of the 10 promised Paradise رضي الله عنهم which he said a leader must not have…their relationship was like no other. The blessed assembly: Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنهم asks his father if he is going to appoint a successor. Umar رضي الله عنه replies that The Messenger ﷺ didn't appoint a successor. Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه appointed a successor. Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه realised his father was not going to appoint a successor… The successor was to be decided by the council of 6, رضي الله عنهم. Abdullah Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه was appointed a referee if there was a 3-3 vote split. Umar رضي الله عنه summons Abu Talha رضي الله عنه and says gather 50 Ansar رضي الله عنهم to also decide between the 6.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S33) Talha رضي الله عنه sees Umar رضي الله عنه leave his dwelling and entering other dwellings at the dead of night. Talha رضي الله عنه made investigations. Umar رضي الله عنه was taking care of an old, blind crippled woman. He had been doing this for years. Talha رضي الله عنه said to himself: “May your mother [رضي الله عنها] lose and bereave you, O Talha”. Umar رضي الله عنه was in his thoughts, deciding who should succeed him… Umar رضي الله عنه told Abdullah Ibn Abaas رضي الله عنهم that a man must have 4 traits to be a leader; To be strong, but not harsh. To give generously, but not be extravagant. To be lenient, but do not be weak. To be cautious in accounting, but not stingy. Abdullah Ibn Abaas رضي الله عنهم said: “None had these traits except Umar رضي الله عنه”.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S32) Umar رضي الله عنه held Talha رضي الله عنه in high regard. Umar once saw Talha رضي الله عنهم wearing an Ihraam, with a red, clay stained colour. Umar رضي الله عنه asked: “What is this?”. Talha رضي الله عنه replied: “It is my Ihraam. It is permissible”. (Different colours are permissible but white is best). Umar رضي الله عنه replied lovingly: “You are an Imaam to the people. I fear the people [who are ignorant] will imitate you, claiming Talha رضي الله عنه wore red, so we will. Refrain from this from now on”. The Messenger ﷺ prohibited the selling of gold for gold, silver for silver, barley for barley and dates for dates. Exchanging these items when they are of the same value is classed as Riba. One must first sell his item (I.e gold) then use that money to buy another product of gold of the same value. Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى knows best. Umar رضي الله عنه: “If the people knew how much love, compassion and mercy I had for them, they'd rip the clothes off my back!”. (I.e they'd take advantage).

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S31) The Messenger ﷺ: “The Dua of my brother Yunus [a.s] is astonishing. The beginning is Taheel, the middle is Tasbeeh, the end is the confession of the lapse…”. Whoever is in debt/grieved and recites the Dua of Prophet Yunus a.s 3 times, will be alleviated from their worries. If you are ill and recite it 40 times, and you die, you will be martyred. If you survive, your sins will be wiped out. Abu Bakr's رضي الله عنه rule was short but super; In 2 years, the apostates were dealt with, the zakat-avoiders were handled, the false prophets were crushed and attacks were launched against the Roman and Persian superpowers. Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه crowned off his rule by appointing Umar رضي الله عنه as his successor. Some Companions رضي الله عنهم weren't fully sure that Umar رضي الله عنه should have succeeded, for whilst yes he was a titan amongst men, he was known to be harsh. Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه explains why Umar رضي الله عنه was so, and says: “Umar [رضي الله عنه] is the best of creation” (I.e after him of course). The Messenger ﷺ: “I have 2 Ministers in the Heavens, one harsh [Jibraaeel (a.s)] and one gentle [Mikaeel (a.s)]. Both are correct. I have 2 Companions on Earth, one harsh [Umar رضي الله عنه] and one gentle [Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه]. Both are correct”. Talha رضي الله عنه was around 40 years old when Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه passed away.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S30) Talha رضي الله عنه during the reign of the 2 Grand Shaykhs رضي الله عنهم: Umar رضي الله عنه sees Talha رضي الله عنه visibly upset and asks: “Why do I now see you uncharacteristically unkempt after The Messenger's ﷺ passing? Is it because your cousin [Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه] has become the Khalif?”. Talha رضي الله عنه replies: “No. I of all the people would not feel this way!”. Talha رضي الله عنه explains what was bothering him was that The Messenger ﷺ said there is a word that if you recite when you are dying, your soul is removed easily, but Talha رضي الله عنه wasn't exactly sure what that word was. Umar رضي الله عنه said he knew what it was: La Ila Ha il Allah [سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى]. Talha رضي الله عنه says you have spoken the truth, it is now as if a huge burden has been lifted off my shoulders. A huge lesson can be learnt from Talha رضي الله عنه: Do not assume when it comes to Revelation. The words of The Messenger ﷺ are not to be taken lightly and one must implement what he learns… Such is our state! What is beloved to us, the Companions رضي الله عنهم didn't care about. What they loved, we treat as light…Talha رضي الله عنه was seen in a state of ‘spiritual depression' over Zhikr - we treat Zhikr as a minor thing. Our depression is exclusive to worldly affairs.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S29) Talha رضي الله عنه did not relate Hadiths. as-Saa'ib Ibn Yazeed (r.h) spent time with Talha, Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf Sa'ad Ibn Abi Waqaas and Miqdaad رضي الله عنهم. He (r.h) said none of them related Hadith, except Talha رضي الله عنه who related about Uhud. During the farewell Hajj, Talha رضي الله عنه had a special honour; when The Messenger ﷺ shaved his blessed head, Talha رضي الله عنه was the one who distributed the blessed hair. (Reports mention also Abu Talha رضي الله عنه). Imam Ali رضي الله عنه: “I have heard with my own ears, The Messenger ﷺ said Talha and Zubayr [رضي الله عنهم] will be my neighbours in Paradise”.

Talha Ibn Ubaydullah رضي الله عنه (S28) The Messenger ﷺ: “The best of mankind is the one whose age is long and deeds are bountiful. The worst of mankind is the one whose age is long and his deeds are corrupt”. The third Kalimah, the everlasting deeds… Why was Talha رضي الله عنه the one to have these dreams? Beautifully put; he craved martyrdom at Uhud, but lived on ~35 years afterwards! In those years, the works he did were unfathomable! Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وتَعَالَى was giving him something greater than martyrdom, a long life full of piety. اَللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ. Why are we surprised regarding the works of this man, for The Messenger ﷺ said: “Abu Bakr will be in Paradise. Umar will be in Paradise. Uthmaan will be in Paradise. Ali will be in Paradise. Talha will be in Paradise. Zubayr will be in Paradise. Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf will be in Paradise. Sa'ad Ibn Abi Waqaas will be in Paradise. Sa'eed Ibn Zayd will be in Paradise. Abu Ubaydah Ibn al-Jarrah will be in Paradise”. (رضي الله عنهم)
